THE GOOD:
Everything, but

THE BAD:
There were a couple times that 12 hours finally solved 1 puzzle...

SUMMARY:
Like most people who are into the LoK series, I started with Soul Reaver. I became a Raziel fan very quickly, the matrix of the story, and the well crafted puzzles amazed me. It took me FOREVER to beat it, but it was well worth it. Then I discovered Blood Omen 1+2. Hated them, don't know why... Then Soul Reaver 2 came out, not impressed... Then Defiance came out, HALLELUYA!!!!!!!!! About time I enjoyed a game as much as I enjoyed Soul Reaver! Wow!

Just for letter requirments for this review, I gotta say I like the way they brought the two characters together. I'm not going to spoil anything, but I love who the final boss that Kain/Raziel has to fight. Peace!

One day, back when I was the proud owner of a Dreamcast, I was browsing a game store, and one game caught my eye. It had a big sticker on it, notifying me that it was reduced. It wasn't that which caught my eye however... It was the picture of some kind of demon on the front. I thought he looked cool, so I picked up the box and had a look on the back. The game was Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. I decided to buy it, since it was reduced, and I had some spare cash at the time. I continued shopping, went home a little while later and figured I'd try my newest game out.

From that moment, I was addicted.

The game was a great game, but still more than that. To me, it seemed more like an interactive story - the twists and turns in the plot kept me hanging on, wanting more - as if I were reading a good book, or watching a great film. The gameplay itself was great, and the voice-acting was perfection at its finest. Truly Amazing! I was totally hooked...

Then came Soul...

THE GOOD:
The graphics, the combat, the gameplay, the story, button config., everything

THE BAD:
Small camera glitches...

SUMMARY:
I've been a Soul Reaver fan for years...and I'll admit that I was dissapointed by SR2...it was dark, and Raziel was too small on the screen. I also tried Legacy of Kain for the Xbox, and I thought it was cheesy! This time around, they nailed it right on the head...this game is so sweet, so wonderfully rendered, so smooth to play...even Kain's demise is a joy to witness. First off the game is very pleasing to the eye, the graphics, colors and lighting all work well and show off the Xbox's power. The gameplay is true to form, full of adventure and combat at every turn. The combat is so well thought out that it feels natural...even for a one button masher like myself, the story is there, but it's not overdone...I especially like the way the story unfolds via the two characters...I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH, how sweet this...
