THE GOOD:
  • Effective use of combos
  • Good amount of unlockables

    THE BAD:

  • Konquest mode doesn't feel right

    SUMMARY:
Now normally at a start of one of my reviews on a game I write about the games history, just to let the user know a bit about the games background. Well this time I can not do that due to the fact this is the first Mortal Kombat game that I have played and I know nothing about the previous games in the Mortal Kombat series. Anyway, lets get started.

So what does a beat-em-up need to have to make the game a classic? Well a good choice of game modes and great fighting with great combos is what makes a good fighting game in my opinion, and Mortal Kombat: Deception has all the ingredients to be a classic.

The first mode I ventured into was Kombat mode. Here you have the traditional three rounds of two people beating eachother to a living pulp as you climb your way up a cliff to become victorious. If you...

    THE GOOD:
they added extra modes like kombat mode, and puzzle mode, and konquest mode, and chess mode, and they added better fatalitys, and they added Hara-Kiri,and. they have better areanas

    THE BAD:
the comboes are slower than the other mortal kombat games and it cost 50 bucks.

    SUMMARY:
it is hard and on konquest mode it is hard to go through it all have to have a lot of time and all that. there is alot of areas so if you are looking for a game that will take a long time than this is the game and besides better fatalitys they added Hara-Kiri it is where if the opponent does the fatality faster than the other person he kills himself like for example pull out his own heart.they have great areanas for example like they have had in all the other games a pit and i cant remeber the rest but it was the best mortal kombat game that i played on xbox and playstation 2 but i found out that goro was on the gamecube.

    THE GOOD:
Everything. Online play is great. The characters are great. Its just all around great!

    THE BAD:
Throws. I absolutely HATE throws. In some ways, they mess the game up, especially when you are online and getting grabbed every time.... It sucks ><

    SUMMARY:
Overall this game is absolutely great! It has tons of new characters, and brought back some of Mortal Kombats best, and favorite golden oldies. The Puzzle and Chess Kombat modes are awesome, along with the regular arcade fighting mode.

Onaga can be a real pain in the behind to face, but after you beat him on 100% difficulty you have an EXTREME amount of satisfaction about your skill.

The actual fighting mode of this game is amazing; The combo system is much easier to master, but it is still hard to get some of the longer, 10-14 hit combo's down to a fine science...

Now. To the point of the game. Konquest.
Konquest mode is great, with a great...

    THE GOOD:
Better Characters and Arenas, Better and Expanded Mortal Kombat Konquest, Better Storyline, and Liu Kang (But as a zombie)!

    THE BAD:
More Koffins in the Krypt, don't need the "Hara-Kiri" technique, and Sub-Zero looks like Shredder from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

    SUMMARY:
You can spend hours playing the new Mortal Kombat Deception including the new Puzzle Kombat, Chess Kombat, and the extended, better-than-ever Konquest. I spent nearly a week beating the Konquest and unlocking all the characters and almost bought out the entire Krypt. The Puzzle Kombat is really challenging, even Chess Kombat which is easy. I would have to say that Onaga is the best Mortal Kombat villain I have seen. You can finally play as Liu Kang in MK Deception, but he is a zombie version (He died in Deadly Alliance). But I say that Liu Kang is the fastest character in Mortal Kombat, even thought he's a zombie. I recommend this game to anybody!
