Oddworld:Munch's Oddysee. This close to being perfect. I swear! | 4.9 0 comments |

THE GOOD: -co-op play as munch and abe. -you can sick your friends on an enemyTHE BAD: -cheap a.i when fighting. SUMMARY: I love this game. both abe and munch get exclusive helpers to fight for them. abe has the mudokons, and munch has the fuzzles. the game is quite challenging, has vast areas to explore, a squeaky wheelchair so munch can get around, and you can fart(abe) or burp(munch) on command. you can up-grade your mudokons with transformation shrines. what else.....oh yeah, you can posses enemies, and send them into a shredder. plus, there are pop machines called vendos that power you up, but some are only for one character, like zap and aquabounce, these are for munch. so, if you are looking for a slap-stick type platform game with odd characters, and possesion, check this game out. |

THE GOOD: The Graphics, THE STORY, the characters, the music, everything!!!THE BAD: not much, can be difficult at some times but challenge is good SUMMARY: I was very satisfied after playing this game. Yes, it is very hard and may be frustrating but its worth it. The game is so detalied and complex that it adds to the experiance. Don't let others scare you away by telling you how hard it is, it's a great game. bottom line |

Interesting adventure game but nothing great.... | 3.0 0 comments |

THE GOOD: The graphics are great, the gameplay is good...THE BAD: The story goes slow and it plays out way to much... SUMMARY: I'm a huge adventure game fan but this title didn't really interest me too much. Its a solid title but it definitely had its problems. I didn't like the idea of switching between two different characters and two different storylines. It was just stupid and it felt weird.
I'm sure if they had some sort of multi-player, the game would have improved drastically. This game would have been a good game for a multi-player but too late.
Overall Outcome: Rent It! |

THE GOOD: The visuals (of course), intuitive control layout, excellent voice actingTHE BAD: Not enough head scratcher-type puzzles - The game is not that hard. SUMMARY: This game knocked my socks off. The voice acting is spot on, as usual. It plays very, very well, with no noticable slowdown that I've seen, and the graphics are very sharp and vivid. But with all of the graphical wizardry this game commands, it does suprisingly little to throw anything too tough in your path.
I'll grant that it is not a simple game, but after playing through Abe's Exodus I need something tougher than this. Gone are all of the precision puzzles that required careful thought and planning to beat. Gone are the days of victory though stealth and speed, and gone are the days of the passive mudokons. In Munch's installment, the forces of nature have gone on the offensive, and you will find yourself leading a small army in a controlled beat down for much of the game. The majority of the puzzles require nothing more complicated than rounding up a bunch of workers and leading them to a designated location, or throwing a particular switch. Sounds just like the old Oddworld, but this time around it isn't that hard. With the addition of the 3rd dimension, most of the difficulty has been removed. When the game was a 2D platformer, all the mines and sligs and slogs were real roadblocks to your progress, and you had to outwit them to meet your objective. It's too easy to simply sneak by them now, or run past at full tilt - they aren't that good with their aiming when they have to lead their fire. It just doesn't feel like Oddworld - the paradigm has shifted, and my mind doesn't feel all that challenged when I play this one.
For some, this may not matter. I know that I still find it a worthwhile addition to the Odd-volumes, and I don't regret buying it. It just fails to statisfy my nostalgia for the way things used to be.

THE GOOD: Graphics, controls, oddness, did I mention GraphicsTHE BAD: slow at times, seemingly impossible at times but hey who doesnt like a challenge SUMMARY: It's a good game (especially the graphics part) but it lacks the hook that Halo or Bloodwake has has. It's not a game that you would want to play 24/7 but more like 12/4. I really like it but it's even a little too wierd for me. |

THE GOOD: - Graphics - Gameplay - Difficulty - Variety - Humor
THE BAD: - A little slow at times - Some repetition within the puzzles
SUMMARY: I really like Munch's Odysee.
If you liked the other Oddworld games I think you will love it. Its just a great platformer. There are a number of different kinds of puzzles which involve both characters skills. The puzzles are not too difficult but will require some grey matter. The pacing of the game is good and you get introduced to new skills and power-ups early in the game which keeps you playing. Graphically it is amazing. They have made a great transition to 3D gaming. Getting to play as two characters with different skills is very well done.
All around great platform/adventure
