Scaler: The Shape Shifting Chameleon

THE BAD:
The small amount of levels, but the size makes up for that

SUMMARY:
Out of the gaming blue comes a new scaly character who kinda looks like the reptile version of Sonic The Hedgehog in my opinion

In Scaler, players take the role of Bobby "Scaler" Jenkins, who has stumbled upon his neighbours top secret plot to steal all the lizard eggs in the world and mutate them all into a super lizard army so he can take over the world. Our hero is captured and interrogated by the baddy and his henchmen. In the process, Bobby is struck by a strange bolt of lightning and is transformed into a lizard himself! A warp hole to another world opens, and he jumps in, to try to stop Looger, his evil neighbour, from taking over the world.

as players progress through the game, Scaler will be able to learn new abilites by collecting Klokkie balls and crystal gems and converting them into useful abilites like camoflague, extra health and other cool power ups. Also, you will be able to aquire the forms of five other lizards and use their power to overcome obsticals. For instance, when Scaler aquires the Bakudan form, he will be able to throw bombs at the enemy, and blow up certain walls. The Swoom form allows him to swim, the Doozum form allows him to fly, the Fruzard form lets him shoot projectiles at enemies from a distance using Sniper Mode, and the Krock form lets him roll around the level and damage enemies easily by sprouting your spikes.

The game also has some added longevtivity, as players try to track down the 100 crystal gems hidden in the ten levels. As you get them, artwork becomes available to view in the Gallery, and collecting all 100 will enable you to see the TRUE ending to the game.

The game is packed with lots of funny and witty lines which Scaler shouts out upon defeating enemies, losing health, and falling off of the level (NO AIR BRAKES!!), as well as funny clips that play when you aquire one of the Lizard Eggs, including tribal dancing, wild west showdowns, and funky music.

The game can be a bit easy (if you are able to avoid getting knocked out by enemies numerous times or mis-timing jumping to the next vine), but all in all, it is a fun game which i enjoyed very much. I'm not too sure that we have seen the last of him...
