THE GOOD:
The open ended career, the rep, the graphics, the sound, etc, etc.

THE BAD:
the many bugs that require you to save often

SUMMARY:
Five minutes after I started the game I was ready to buy a boat and head for the high seas. The game is by far the most rewarding RPG I've ever experienced. The open ended storyline was great, don't get me wrong I've always had a love for Zelda and the kind but I've always wanted a game that combines the ultimate open endedness that is similar to the sims. You never have to end this game if you don't want to. There is a main quest if you feel inclined to follow it, but the joy is that you don't have to. If you want to be a trader, a bodyguard, or a pirate you can!! The addition of the Reputation gives the flavor of being able to choose your character's personality. I don't know about you but I kinda get bored playing the same type of "Hero" all the time. I REALLY enjoyed being the "Horror of the High Seas"...

THE GOOD:
Another graphically great looking game courtesy of Bethesda...easy ship controls and the "quick menu" came in handy.

THE BAD:
Compared to the Elder Scrolls games, PotC seems quite small to be truly considered a free form pirate RPG/RTS. There was no 'Create A Captain' mode which kind of took me out of the swashbuckling experience. The camera during the sailing mode could've used some work

SUMMARY:
Pirates of the Carribean is probably one of the most graphically beautiful games I have played in a long time. Trademark Bethesda weather/lighting effects are aplenty here...setting sail at dawn or dusk look especially nice. The times when Hawk is on land are good, but the layout is too similar and variety is sparse. I guess it wouldn't be a problem if you have a palm tree fetish, weirdo. What really shivered my timber was that I couldn't create my own captain so I had to stare at Nate's butt crack showing through his pants whenever I got...

THE GOOD:
Great 1 player action. One of the the best story lines in a game I've ever seen! You have to get it.

THE BAD:
It's only one player. I mean, seriously, all aof the great role playing games have a two player version of the actual game. Oh, and there coulg have been at least some Johnny Depp in it.;^{)

SUMMARY:
Pirates of the Caribbean is not only the most detailed games ever, its one of the best games ever. Great weater effects . Probably the best I've ever seen in a game. The ships are soooo detailed as is sailing mode and every thing else in this game. Some of the most fun I've ever had playing a video game(which is saying something). If you don't believe me, rent it and you'll find out. All in all i think one word comes to mind about all the different enviornments in this game. Wow. It is probably the most detailed game i have ever played. So why are you still sitting here reading my review on one of the top...

THE GOOD:
Great graphics with stunning realized weather effects that add realism to the game. A very long and involved game that cannot be beat in just a few days. Tons of places to explore and to discover quests.

THE BAD:
Some major bugs at key places that occur on some copies of the game more than others. The ending of the game is very short and rushed and you could tell it was changed to Pirates of the Carribean from Sea Dogs II at the last moment.

SUMMARY:
While some people did not like this game it is clear that their main gripe was the bugs occuring in bad saves and white screens and other than that this game was very good. I completed the game and only had one bad save and one white screen the whole time and I didn't really mind. The game loads into your memory the first time you play and you will see the game play slow for the first 30 minutes or so while this is happening. This will only occur once then the game will be in your...

THE BAD:
Bugs galore, terrible combat camera, more bugs, character runs at a snails pace, more bugs.

SUMMARY:
Players be warned, you may want to call an exterminator for all the bugs in this game. Bethesda should be ashamed to have allowed this potential masterpiece of the role-playing genre to be released with so many bugs.
The worst of which, literally cripples the game:
After defeating Greenford Fort quest, you then have to defend it against a counter-invasion....upon defeating them, the game goes bad, will not allow you to save, and gives the white screen which reboots the game.
This has happened five times in a row, and I see no way out of it. Basically my game is finished, as there is no where to go from this point.

So, now I have a shiny silver coaster to along with what is now a $50.00 movie ticket that came with the game.
Do not buy this P.O.S, until the fix the bugs.
