THE GOOD:
  • Lots more new features never been seen before
  • Scout Reports
  • Team News
  • Spoilt for choice on teams

    THE BAD:

  • Players names, no licenses

    SUMMARY:
UEFA Euro 2004 is a football game which in most people's eyes wasnt going to be a huge sucess. When there is a big football event like a Euro competion or a World Cup taking place there is normally a game released just before.

The last game being released was World Cup 2002, this was lacking in peformance and because of that people expected this game to be the same including myself. Well I got the game and I was proved very very much so wrong. This game is ALOT betetr than World Cup 2002 and i prefer more than FIFA 2004.

I am pleasd to say that the Euro 2004 campaign mode has been improved ALOT from the World Cup 2002 Campaign Mode. Now, you can go through the teams qualifiers and also have friendlys along the way. There are alot more options involved too. I'll now go through a list of some.

Now for the first time you will get a scout report. Before a match it will appear and tell your the frmation of your opposing team and other useful information you might be interested to know.

Another new option is the Team News. When going in here you get to see all whch is happening outside the football matches, you can see if your players morale has rose because they scored in there last match or it has raised because the team won a certain match which the player was envolved in. You can also see if your players win little awards in here to raise morale like Man Of The Match Award and so on.

There is other playable modes apart from the Euro 2004 Campaign some including Situation where you will be situated with a crisis in amatch which you will need to try to overcome. There is of course ust Free Play like on most games where you and yur mate can spend hours changing your teams for normal fun. Nothing special there though.

The gameplay mode is quite similar to most fo the games. Its quit enice to see now when a corner is being taken you will get a very short cutscene of the person taking the corner setting up the position of the ball. Controls are quite simple and shouldt take too long to get the hang of. There is a feature where you can chip the keeper which si also quite nice to have.

Well unfortunatly you mgith find that some of the teams that you control dont have there real proper names. This is because the licenses of the plaeyrs were unablt to be brought as FIFA own all the licenses. Its a shame but the players are quite easy to tell from.

Songs have chanegd as well and have lived up to the other songs from football games. I find myself humming to the tune everynow and then. There is nothing special about the graphics, there just graphics. Like I mentioned earlier, you get a little cutscene when about to take a corner which is enat but in the end the graphics are just like the other FIFA game or Pro Evolution games.

    Verdict

I the end I reckon this is one of the best football games around and despite not having International teams it would be the best, but that dont matter when you have over 70 nations to be.
