THE GOOD:
Very fast, cpu overclocking, many slots for xpansion

THE BAD:
not compatible, problems with a 256 MB dimm

SUMMARY:
When I had win 98, everything was almost perfect, but when i wanted upgrade to WinXP, it worked fine 2 days, then it chrashed. I didn't knew what happened, but... the bios was completly blank!!!, I had to re-flash-it.
Even downloading the latest drivers from biostar, I couldn't make it run with WinXP Home Edition

THE GOOD:
easy to set up, stable

THE BAD:
not alot of overclocking options

SUMMARY:
I've had this mobo for bout 2 months now, cheap price-
$43, and its a great deal so far... im
running an amd tbird 900 overclocked to 964 right now-
bus speed set to 107mhz, tried setting to 112 but
failed, will try higher settings later on. other than that everything is great, no sound problems, bios problems or anything.. i've run win98, winMe, win2k, winxp.. they all work. Easiest motherboard i've ever used.

THE GOOD:
Stable, fast, all-around good pc, onboard sound rocks

THE BAD:
People I bought it from, vegapc.com, are morons. Dude pointed to 5 pci slots saying they were isa slots. Then they put in the wrong video card, ati xpert2000 which glitched every 10 seconds had to take that back. i asked for 1 256meg dimm chip, not 2 128's. biggest problems were the motherboard drivers, didn't have those on a cd or have a manual or anything so i basically had to get everything online. winxp detects all patches for the motherboard btw, winxp runs nice on this machine

SUMMARY:
really sucks about the jumpers, that's lame

This is actually to Bob Culbertson, if he is out there.

If you ATI is with 64MB RAM, then try adding another 256 MB RAM, then you'll get a problem.
Mine also worked perfect with 512 MB, then I installed another 256 MB RAM and the fun was over. WinME started reporting an error with a file for the Graphics card. Installing a new driver didn't help, and after a long time I changed the AGP aperture size in the CMOS to 128 MB and the it worked perfect. I don't which is the reason for the error the mainboard or the ATI card, but emailing Biostar hasen't helped, they simly doesn't respond and ATI help service is also .... well BAD.

But all in all: A OK board inspite it's faults

THE GOOD:
Verrry Stable with 1.1 ghz T-Bird

THE BAD:
None for Me. I'm not into overclocking.

SUMMARY:
I'm using the Revision 2 mobo (686b southbridge)and it is rock solid. Config details follow.

1. AMD T-bird 1100 (not overclocked)
2. 512 meg. PC-133 SDRAM (two double sided 256's).
3. ATI Radeon VE DDR (AGP 4X enabled)
4. Aureal Vortex 2 (8830) sound card
5. 40 GIG Western Digital HD (UDMA 100)
6. 40X CDROM
7. 8x8x32 CDRW
8. Enlight 7237 Mid Tower case with 350 watt PS and
one aux case fan.
9. Win ME and tons 'o' softs.

Can't get the darn thing to crash under extended heavy rendering, graphics manipulation, animation or with the few games I like to play.... Photoshop 6 flies!!

THE GOOD:
Easy to set up. Benchmarked with the best of them and I leave the thing on for days without a crash. Mine also came with creative sound (5xxx something). I don't use it but it will be good for when this becomes a second system.

THE BAD:
No overclocking. It would be nice since amd cpus are so easy to overclock but good for novice users or people who can't be bothered with it.

SUMMARY:
This board does not like 256mb dimms. I tried two different ones from the same manufacurer (xerox). It boots fine but when games run it will crash to the desktop or lock up. Two 128 mb dimms at cas 2 works like a champ. All Geforce cards worked too. I'm a gamer and have no complaints

THE GOOD:
Easy to set up

THE BAD:
Not the fastest thing out there and not the best choice for overclockers.

SUMMARY:
I had the board up and running in 20 minutes and really have not had any difficulty since. The overclocking options are few but I was able to increase the bus speed to 105 and brought my 700 Duron up to a 750. I am running Windows ME without any VIA patches and have had no problems.

THE BAD:
Seems to be poor overall.

SUMMARY:
Purchased the board. Installed all new 4 in 1 drivers from VIA websight. Running Win98SE which crashed everytime the video did anything... even opening programs. Sent that back to supplier. They couldn't identify problem. Returned a new MB which I connected tonight. It doesn't recognize the A drive or the secondary slave. Now I'm going to send that back and order the Asus SockA instead. DONT BUY THIS ONE!!!
