THE GOOD:
Most perfect Bradband sharing BOX!

THE BAD:
Netgear Support Sucks! go to http://www.netgear.org instead!

THE GOOD:
Easy Install, Dynamic DNS, Switched ports

THE BAD:
advanced features configured by telnet

SUMMARY:
Piece of cake to install, especially if you have a new firmware installed so that you can do it all through the web. It is a switch instead of a hub, so it performs well to connect your local PC's.

THE GOOD:
Perfect in every way.

THE BAD:
Nothing on router. But technical support can be lousy.

SUMMARY:
Simply put.
Worked right out of the box period

THE GOOD:
Very easy set-up. Firmware upgrades have addressed most of the early problems and limitations. Firmware upgrades are easy. Works beautifully as a firewall (checked at grc.com and with no hits on ZoneAlarm). NAT works well too, allowing easy simultaneous cable/DSL access from more than one computer. I have had no problems with internet gaming, peer-to-peer, or AOL instant messenger.

THE BAD:
Tech support is lacking both on the Web and on the phone. Techs tend to be nice and try to help but often aren't able to appropriately troubleshoot.

SUMMARY:
I was one of the first buyers of the RT314 and it has had it's share of bumps but they have been ironed out with firmware upgrades. Most important tweaks can now be achieved from a Web-based interface, while more advanced users can use the telnet capabilities. Now that a more "comprehensive" solution has been manufactured by Netgear (I believe it's the RF314), this one has been heavily...

THE GOOD:
Very quick, and secure.
Easy to set up and configure.
Lets of web support.

THE BAD:
Would like a gui setup for firewall.

SUMMARY:
You must update the firmware to 3.24. But once your on that code you are in business. Here is a website to give you plenty of help with your router http://pages.infinit.net/neo2048/frame.htm, this website helped me to lock my network down well. Just an awesome router.

THE GOOD:
worked really good for a week, was easy to install

THE BAD:
died after 5days of use, tech support was lousy, web help even worse

SUMMARY:
This unit was easy to install, and it worked great for five whole days. I used it to network 2 cpu's and to share my cable modem. For some unknown reason and Netgear was of no help the unit "locked" and would do nothing but turn on, even when and bought a serial cable to try and re-flash the unit( per Netgear) and that didnt work either. I ended up returning the unit and getting Linksys model BEFSR41, and it has worked great now for a month.....word of advice buy the Linksys!

THE GOOD:
Very simple installation, Transparent hookup to the Internet.

THE BAD:
It would be perfect with a printer port.

SUMMARY:
I installed the RT314 in less than an hour to my 4 computers. It included using my Netgear PS104 print sharing device. All units work great to my @home cable service, including email. I fought with Wingate setup for a year before I gave up and bought additional service from my IP. This unit will pay for itself in a few months. Netgear tech support is great if you should need them.
