THE GOOD:
- flat tube
- much contrast

THE BAD:
- sharpness (convergence is a catastrophy!)
- geometric problems

SUMMARY:
Well, I bought the G400 because my good old Eizo FlexScan F56 from 1996 has become too small.

And I'm disappointed. Sure, the G400 is beautifully flat and has a lot of contrast. BUT the upper-right edge of the screen is much more blurry than the "other" area. You can try to fix it by changing convergence, but once it's fixed, the lower-left edge becomes blurry. And you can't adjust convergence for the edges separately. Damn!!!
Secondly, every time I switch to a new resolution, I have to play with geometry settings for about 10-15 minutes... and it's never perfect.

I did use the "oldie" Eizo F56 for about five years and it is still better in most acpects than the Sony. I NEVER NEVER needed to adjust convergence or geometry on the Eizo, but it's a nightmare with Sony. I've been working for...

THE GOOD:
Excellent grahpics (picture, video, gaming)

THE BAD:
Convergence Problems (with text)
Focus Problems (with text)
Inconsistency and bad Quality Control

SUMMARY:
I asked for this monitor for my birthday, and received it. It was good for pictures, videos, and games, but horrible for text. Not only did the corners experience severe convergence problems, but even the middle of the screen had some red/green misalignment on small text. Very annoying and tiring after many hours of programming and word processing! I exchanged the monitor for a second, which had less convergence problems, but still too much for my tastes. I finally ended up ordering the Samsung SyncMaster 950p (which I am extremely happy with--perfectly crisp text at half the price!) I would not recommend this Sony to anyone who does more than 10% text-based work, but for those out there doing 90% graphics work, have at it.

THE GOOD:
-Picture is good, if you use it for resolutions below 1600x1200
-Two inputs
-Bright

THE BAD:
-In shop months on end, went through four monitors, only to have down time
-Picture quality could be better
-Sony's QC is none existent, like their tech support

SUMMARY:
Yes, I did buy it from uBid as a referb for 353 with shipping in March, from the few good reviews I heard, but as of now, I belive that wasn't only a mistake, but a sin. I've been through four monitors, all bad, not a single one worked like it shuld have. THe first monitor was fine, had a perfect picture at 1600x1200, but had a shacking problem that developed after a month or so. The second one was over all bad, like the third and fourth, so now after a month and a half down time on one system in my house, I wouldn't recomend this to anyone. Especially since Sony doesn't want to offer me a working monitor, but they want to buy it back from me, and not pay...

THE GOOD:
*Clean, crisp picture, even at 1600x1200.
*Amazing geometry
*Covrence is perfect throught
*No reflections of lights in room.
*Two inputs

THE BAD:
*The controls are a little wiered.
*Why can't every monitor be like this:-D.

SUMMARY:
Well, came in today, played around with it a bit, and for $353, great deal(includes shipping, refurbished monitor won on uBid). Even though it wasn't new, it looks new, feels new, and isn't missing anything. This monitor must have the cleanest, sharpest image ever, even the corners are perfect. The text is sharp and clear all the way up to 1800x1440, but the refresh rate is too low to be running at that resolution. Plus this screen is really, I mean really bright, the darkest setting, is what most of the computers at my school would call super bright. This is one kick ass monitor.

SO far running it I've found no problems with the image, only a little minor problem with...
