OCZ PC2-8800 vs. Corsair PC2-8888 Kit Review - DriverHeaven
"Clearly if the motherboard to be used with the sticks only supports DDR2-800 the OCZ modules are better value however in terms of the highest end motherboards and extreme timings at overclocked speeds the Corsair modules fit the bill better. There is over a £150 price difference however, and we feel this might be the deciding factor for all but the richest of enthusiast."

Corsair/Mushkin/OCZ/Team Group DDR2 Memory Kit Roundup - MadShrimps
"For me, the positives of all four kits significantly dominate the negatives. I’d like to recommend all four kits to you, because in my opinion, none of them is really falling behind when you look at the way the enthusiast community will probably use them... One thing is clear for now though: Team Group has delivered the fastest kit, whether this is by accident we cannot say. It is possible that this is a “one of a kind” memory kit, but I have no indication that it is: Team Group has convinced many enthusiasts already, as you can see on many forums. So for now, it’s one Team Group to rule them all."

DDR2 Memory Kit Roundup - MadShrimps
"As it's a little early for performance "tags" right now (there are still two platforms to be done, NVIDIA 680 and Intel P35), we will not hand out any recommendations for top performance right now. However, we would like to offer our recommendation for the OCZ PC6400 Urban Elite kit, as it easily beats the other kits when it comes down to value for money."

Corsair vs. OCZ DDR2-1100 Memory Kit Review - X-bit labs
"The memory kits from Corsair and OCZ have somewhat different specifications. The Corsair TWIN2X2048-8888C4DF can be used at 1100MHz with 4-4-4-12 timings. The OCZ DDR2 PC2-8800 Gold Edition can only work at that frequency with 5-5-5-15 timings. So, the Corsair Dominator looks preferable from this point of view, but we should also take the price factor into account. The 2GB Corsair TWIN2X2048-8888C4DF kit costs as much as $650. The same-capacity OCZ DDR2 PC2-8800 Gold Edition kit costs $450 and looks as a value offering in comparison. The Corsair TWIN2X2048-8888C4DF kit is worth its price, though. It is versatile in the sense that you can use it at 1.1GHz with rather low timings or as DDR2-800 with 3-3-3-10 timings. The OCZ kit can’t offer that. Besides, the Corsair Dominator kit includes a special-purpose cooler for cooling your DIMMs."

What They Say:

"You can certainly buy a 2GB kit for less than half that price that will provide most of the performance of the $600 kit. For those who measure their system purchases on a value basis it will be difficult to justify $600 for Corsair Dominator PC2-1111, even though it is the fastest memory we have tested. However, Corsair Dominator PC2-8888 was not designed for the value buyer. Many other companies, including Corsair, have memory products that will satisfy the value equation. Corsair Dominator PC2-8888 is for buyers who have to have the best - the fastest - the top performance - regardless of cost. If they buy PC2-8888 they will definitely get the best available on the memory market."
"With that said though, the Dominator 8500C5D modules are a definite attraction and have the potential to achieve high frequencies with tight timings because of the capability to run at a higher voltages than most other modules can cope with over long periods of time. Typically, the 8500C5D modules are going to set you back around £10 more than Corsair's standard 8500C5 product and we'd say that if you're considering those modules, the extra £10 for better cooling is money well spent."

"It's not the DHX cooling that's costly, it's the extremely tight screening and speed-binning that's necessary on the DDR2-1111 parts. So, unless you're filthy rich and have a burning desire for the absolute fastest, some more modest TWIN2X or similar will likely bring you the same amount of joy for a nice saving. In time, the appeal of these modules (or future DHX cooled modules) could increase, but right now, they're definitely a niche product.
"The bottom line however, is that the Dominator TWIN2X2048-8888C4DF memory kit is an excellent product. It's fast, flexible, innovative, and it should work fine on any platform."
