The KHX12800D3K2/2G kit retails for about $200 at the time of this review which is a fantastic price for modules that run at 1600MHz. The timings are a bit slow, but this is the king of pricing that allows many people to jump into DDR3 without too much hassle. It wasn't long ago that a kit such as this would be around double the price. If you're looking for a good mainstream DDR3 kit to run at 1600MHz, this kit is a top choice.
All-in-all, Kingston KHX1280D3/1G are fast and accessible DDR3 modules that can tip the scales to Core i7 side. If you decide to upgrade to Core i7 platform you only need to determine how much memory you need and you are sorted.

Shocking! I think this has to be the one set of memory that has overclocked furthest above its rated speed that I have ever tested. After making sure there was no typo on the modules and/or packaging, I was simply stunned. This set of HyperX memory from Kingston is rated to operate at DDR3-1600MHz speeds with a cas latency of 8. No problem, right? Well no, it's not, and it should run right at its rated specifications of 8-8-8-20 with ease. Not only did they do this, but they also did 6-7-6-18 at 1600MHz. Pretty nice in its own right from a set of modules that are currently selling for just $103!

The KHX1600C9D3K2/4G kit of memory might not come with all the bells and whistles that some other kits include, but they are solid performers that I would recommend to all but the most demanding overclockers.

Kingston has really outdone themselves here, producing the fastest 1600MHz memory modules we've ever seen from any manufacturer for any platform. If you're looking to extract maximum performance from your new LGA1156 Core i5/i7 system at a steal of a price, then these Kingston 4GB HyperX DDR3-1600 should be at the very top of your wish list.
