OCZ PC2-6400 & PC2-8500 Reaper HPC Kit Review - 3dXtreme
"OCZ has delivered two more great products. For the everyday user the PC2-6400 Reaper kit would do just fine. If you've got the extra $50 or like to tinker and overclock then the PC2-8500 will deliver some extra performance. With the prices of DDR2 slipping further and available rebates I wouldn't doubt a true bargain hunter couldn't find these kits for even less than the prices we mentioned above. If you are shopping for new DDR2 memory make sure OCZ is on your short list."

OCZ DDR2 Memory Roundup - BiT-Tech.net
"Having undercut everyone massively it must be hard to compete, and even with such a good looking, fully featured product like the FlexXLC that is offered for a much lower price than most others it's still not good enough. Yes, you do get EVP, better cooling and all that jazz but Kingston still provides the same lifetime warranty with its products. If you specifically need memory to add to the absolute pimped out look of your case internals, or you're after watercooling then there is really no alternative to what the FlexXLC offers on that front."

During the real world results the OCZ Reaper PC2-1066 kit gaming performance felt smoother to me. Overclockers will appreciate and utilize the extra headroom DDR2-1066 provides. While using some dividers however I ran into stability issues and in some cases had to drop to a setting below DDR2-1000 just to get that overclock stable. Nothing to do with the memory as the ram was memtest stable past 1066Mhz, the memory controller favors some dividers over others I have found with the Intel C2D chips. With the way memory prices the way they are, you can't go wrong with this memory kit. If you are in the market for a new kit of DDR2, OCZ's PC2-8500 4GB kit is the way to go!!
"The superlative results reflected in the bennchmarking and gaming tests above from the OCZ Reaper HPC 8500 DDR-2 memory are amongst the best I've ever experienced using DDR-2 8500. Some of the individual results in the stock speed tests may have been bettered slightly by other brands of memory but only because they were running at lower latencies. The achieved memory speed of 1200MHz using a 1:2 memory ratio is by far the best we've ever seen from any memory product in the DDR-2 8500 class."
Overall, the OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500 Reaper HPC 4GB Edition is a good choice of RAM for those who want to use 4GB of memory at 1066MHz without spending too much money.
The OCZ Reaper HPC isn't shy about its 2.3V operating voltage and for all intents and purposes features the same 1066MHz speeds and loose CL5 rating as other DDR2-1066 memory. However, OCZ isn't just selling another alternate-cooled DDR2-1066 memory to whet the appetites of enthusiasts. The Reaper HPC is actually able to deliver better performance with the same settings. If our benchmarks are to be any gauge, gamers are not the only target group for faster memory. Professional and productivity suites that are increasingly resource demanding are the applications that stand to gain a lot more from higher memory subsystem bandwidth today.

"The OCZ Reaper HPC put forth a good showing with consistantly high benchmark results. The benefit of performance memory, like the Reaper HPC, could clearly be seen when compared to "standard" memory running at JEDEC's DDR2-800 standards. Although the performance benefit was sometimes very small, the Reapers aren't at fault. Overall, both of our Reaper kits performed as expected and on par with other high-performance memory kits we've seen."
