we somehow had about half a dozen at work and we've had reading problems with everyone of them, YES! every one. their so bad that i replaced some with old 4x drives for better results.

Makes a lot of noise. Sometimes it wouldn't work at all

I am very dissappointed in Sony! They usually produce quality products, but this CD-ROM Drives is totally low class

Its average speed is slow, it constantly fills its buffer and needs to "reload"

SUMMARY:
Slow and unreliable, always stops during long sequences (not good for Quake 3 or movies) plus it's impossible to update the drivers from sony corp. cause you can't find them.

makes more noise than my washing machine on spin cycle and the whole system frequently crashes until I eject cd.
