Spire WhisperRock V

THE BAD:
Thermal paste was a mess and a big blotch.

SUMMARY:
I installed the Spire to a Gigabyte motherboard with an AMD 2500+ processor.
The processor was over clocked to a 3000+, by a 12.5 multiplier and a 180 FSB.
The original heatsink and fan gave temp reading of 49 C at idle and went to 70 C at full load in 20 mins.

Then.... I installed the Spire. I removed the thermal paste and put Antec Silver.

Same setup and the temps were 39 C and 50 C at full load.

What does that tell you?

I'll let you conclude about the cooler but in my opinion and as a layman, for the money and my application it was well worth it.
