| What's the difference between the different USB speeds? |
| ANSWER |
| USB 1.0 | 1.5 Mbps |
| USB 1.1 | 12 Mbps |
| USB 2.0 low speed | 1.5 Mbps |
| USB 2.0 full speed | 12 Mbps |
| USB 2.0 high speed | 480 Mbps |
Unfortunately the USB 2 moniker has been somewhat convoluted with marketing shenanigans and manufacturers are advised to drop the low/full/high speed notation so that consumers are not confused which means that a potential USB 1 device can be marketed to be USB 2 because of compatibility reasons.

Although I agreed that it was helpfull there is also much confusion about the difference between Mbps and MBps and the convention of representing these units. I know that there is 8Mbps or 8mbps in one MBps or Mbps.......see what I mean.
Really just an abreviation of an abreaviation Mbit/ps to MByte/ps that in the above 'case' is very important, and if in doubt, useless.
