One day, the citizens of a town are all struck with a sudden case of blindness. As order quickly falls into chaos, a doctor's wife (Julianne Moore) is the only person who retains the ability to see. But to stay safe from her crazed neighbors, she pretends to be blind just like them. Based on the novel by Jose Saramago.
