THE GOOD: - Acting - Camera Work - Monster - Great SuspenseTHE BAD: - Length of Movie SUMMARY: Wow, talk about a great movie. I was expecting something good but what I got was something great. The suspense and mystery that took hold of you just never let go. The way you barely get to see the monster throughout the movie is pretty cool. You wonder if you will ever see it, but I won't say if you do because I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who has not seen the movie yet.
The acting was pretty amazing. They really made you feel like you really where just watching a tape from a video camera. Combine the great acting with the great camera work, and you are sure to like what you see. The story was just as good as everything else. They made the movie more than just a monster movie. They made it more than just 2 hours of watching a monster tear down a city. They give you what would really happen if the situation really took place. If a huge giant monster that nobody has ever seen before started destroying a city, you would not see a gang of 8 or 9 people get together, gather weapons and ammo and attack the monster head on! You would see people running for their freaking lives! Now I am not saying that people are just running away for the whole movie, but the overall film is definitely more realistic than probably any other monster film in recent memory.
I really have to say again, this was a fantastic and nearly flawless movie. The only bad thing I could really say was that I expected the movie to be longer, but that is more of a personal preference because I like long movies. Other than that, and maybe not having enough popcorn for the movie, it was absolutely great! If you have not seen this movie yet, then I HIGHLY recommend you do. If you like action packed, suspenseful and science fiction movies, than you would totally love Cloverfield! |
