THE GOOD:
Excellent visuals
Great voicework
Thought-provoking
Plenty of extras

THE BAD:
Some sections too slow paced
Mostly unremarkable music

SUMMARY:

Cutesy saucer-sized eyes. Ditzy schoolgirls with IQ seemingly in the single figures. Dimwit male protagonists that are clueless until the end. Anime is filled with a lot of common elements like these, and how they are handled can determine success or failure.

Then we have the other side of anime, such as Ghost in the Shell, that have no interest in such overused elements. Welcome to the dark side, an animated look into a dark future where the line between man and machine is becoming ever increasingly blurred, and the definition of what it means to live continues to change.

In the year 2029 technology has come a long way....

THE GOOD:
Greatly animated.
Really good storyline.

THE BAD:
Not greatly dubbed.

SUMMARY:
ghost in the shell is made by the manga film company and has been dubbed in region 1 and 2. The animation on the film is great all the way through. The storyline is very unique and has alot of depth to it. The music to the film suits of the mood of the background and characters. The character designs are very nice and each character has an in depth personalitly to match there history and background. The film is not all animation and partly grapics. The film itself is good to watch and one of the best anime films out there.

Overall i'd say that any anime watcher has to see this film, it's really good.

Released in 1996, Ghost in the Shell was one of the earlier animes to try and blend CGI with the traditional hand-drawn cels. To this day it is still a visually stunning piece of work.

It won 2 awards at the 1997 World Animation Celebration Awards. There it was voted Best Theatrical Feature Film, and Best Director of a Theatrical Feature Film.

A bit in the style of the classic live-action movie, Bladerunner, Ghost in the Shell questions what defines humanity as well as what makes each of us unique in a world of growing cyber-technology. It also explores the possibility of a machine evolving into a true, sentient, species of its own.

Not a movie that you can just sit back and watch. Its a thinking man's anime that just cries out for discussion and debate.
