Mobile Suit Gundam Vol. 1: The Battle Begins!

Story

In the year Universal Century 0079, the Earth Federation rules the space colonies, or Sides. When one Side declares itself independent and becomes The Principality of Zeon, they declare war against the Federation, using advanced technology known as "Mobile Suits". These humanoid robots help the Zeon gain an early advantage as the Federation forces are all but wiped out. But when civilian Amuro Ray stumbles across the Federation's secret counter-weapon, the "Gundam" Mobile Suit, Amuro finds himself in the middle of a One Year War fighting for his own survival as well as the Federation's.
