Story

Public Enemies depicts the real life story of John Dillinger (Depp), a depression-era bank robber who captured the attention of the nation after his many crimes made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoover's newly developed FBI and it's number one agent, Melvin Purvis (Bale). No one could stop Dillinger, no jail cell could hold him. His charm was audacious as his girlfriend (Cotillard) and the American public were fed up with Banks that destroyed the ailing 1930's U.S. economy. Only after Hoover hired Western ex-lawmen did the FBI give Dillinger a fight for his life.
