THE GOOD:
  • "I want to play a game".
  • The fact that John Kramer/Jigsaw is in this movie, makes it pretty much great.
  • Some of the death traps are brilliant, just like the other 4 movies.
  • It'll turn your stomach in some scenes, and that's why it's awesome.
  • The ending of this, and all the Saw movies just makes you think "how the hell!?".
  • The way Amanda loses it throughout the film.

THE BAD:

  • Things begin to get a little misleading from the first and second movie. I mean, what the hell happened to the doctor (Lawrence Gordon) from number 1!?

SUMMARY:
I only just recently watched all of the Saw movies in my spare time this summer and all I can say is, I regret not watching them sooner. I didn't think I'd be mad about them but I really enjoyed each movie. The end of each movie, there is always a certain twist and an "oh yeah!" moment. But Saw III probably has the best twist of all of 'em.

JOHN KRAMER DEDICATION
Firstly I would just like to say how much of a genius this dude is in this film. You would have seen how awesome he is from number 2 if you've watched it, or if you've seen the end of number 1. Basically he's wound up Amanda Young in this movie quite a lot. She begins to lose the plot and goes a little crazy. But the way he does it is just genius. You see him in scenes with the doctor as Amanda enters the room and John just says little things that makes her cringe and get jealous. Like one specific scene where the doctor is holding the hand of John (nothing intimate as they are actually arguing) and Amanda enters the room. As she sees the two, John says "we're fine Amanda, we don't need you". I just think it's genius as it really puts her over the edge. I seriously love this guy in this movie. The ending will make you see his pure genius, but obviously I won't ruin it for you. Just watch it for yourself!

PLOT
If you haven't watched the first two, there is no point in watching this one, obviously. And some parts in this movie may seem misleading, but once you watch four and five, it will all become a lot clearer to you. The main reason this will seem a little misleading is because number three and four intersect with each other.

As you look at John Kramer in his death bed in this movie, you think he isn't going to harm many people, but you'd be seriously surprised at how much death and pain he can cause. He's also not working alone as he has Amanda working with him (a girl who goes a little TOO crazy in this movie).

GRAPHICS
The graphics in this movie are just as good as the other two Saw movies - if not, better. The most horrific scene in this movie for me is, when Jeff Reinhart (one of the main characters in this one) is going through each section, looking at people who were witnesses of his son's death (each of these people getting tortured). But the most horrific scene is when Timothy Young (the driver of the vehicle that killed Jeff's son) is put into a turning device, and when activated, it turned his arms, legs and neck. First he is tortured when his arms are broken when twisted, then you see his legs being twisted and one of his bones popping out (rather disgusting). And lastly as Jeff is trying to help him, his neck is fully turned 180 degrees behind him. It's a real stomach-turning moment, but it's really good (graphically). Another amazing seen graphically, is when John Kramer has to get the operation on his skull to release pressure from his brain tumour. It's very gross but it also looks very real, so I really like it.

DIRECTOR'S WORK
As mentioned in a previous Saw review, the movie was directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, just as the second movie was. He is excellent in all of the Saw movies he directs and I would watch any of his movies.

AUDIO
You won't have any trouble with the audio in this movie. Everything is said on time by the characters, and all sound effects are perfectly okay.

ATTENTION KEEPERS
Like the previous Saw movies, they should keep your attention. If you've watched number 1 and 2 and they have kept your attention, then this one shall as well because it's excellent. But then again, if the first two didn't, then maybe this isn't your type of movie. This is really up to you to decide from the first two movies.

TRANSLATIONS
Just like the previous Saw movies, it is all in English and you shouldn't have any trouble understanding anything anybody says in this movie (if you speak English of course, but of course you do if you're reading this!).

SUMMARY
The movie is excellent and as I mentioned before, John Kramer is just an absolute genius in this one. You will notice if you watch it yourself - especially towards the end of the movie. Some of the scenes are really graphical, and that's something that's really worth enjoying in my opinion.

RECOMMENDING IT
Anyway, Saw III is definitely worth a watch if you've watched the first two movies. If you like movies with gore in them, you'll enjoy this and the rest of the Saw movies. And if you haven't watched any of the Saw movies yet, bide some time and watch them! Definitely worth watching number one anyway, see if it takes your fancy.
