StoryThe year is 2005, and the Decepticons have retaken Cybertron from Optimus Prime and his Autobot warriors. The Transformers Civil War has blinded both the Autobots and Decepticons to a nightmare menace headed their way - UNICRON, a monster so powerful he devours planets. Unicron has chosen to take control of the Autobot Matrix for his own evil purposes, and to accomplish this he has created a force of super robots. By gathering the remains of fallen Decepticons, including Megatron, and infusing them with life, he forms the Unicrons. With Decepticons on one side, Unicron on the other, and Optimus Prime lost in battle, Earth and Autobot survival depends on The Chosen One who must rise up to open the matrix and use its full power. Who that is remains a mystery.DVD FeaturesThe supplements are sparse, but mildly interesting. The first is a video interview with the film's music composer, Vince DiCola. He mentions the movie's initial box office failure, and talks about being enthusiastically greeted at a Transformers convention years after he assumed everyone had forgotten about it. He also briefly mentions discovering how Paul Thomas Anderson put the "You've Got the Touch" anthem to ironic use in his porn-industry opus, Boogie Nights. The only other supplement is a selection of storyboards for a few deleted sequences. They are not presented in any sort of context, and some of them verge on being incomprehensible, but it's nice to see that some attempt was made at providing extra content for the fans. Sadly, the movie's theatrical trailer is missing, despite being present on the Japanese laserdisc. VHS FeaturesnoneMovie Details Cast:
