I'm sure most of you have watched demo footage or something on a game. Well I've watched plenty of them.

And you know what I noticed? Most developers doing the demo really really suck! They are getting their ass handed to them but live on because the game is on easy or something.

Just because they make it doesn't necessarily mean they're good at it. I suppose it's the same kind of thing when directors aren't good actors. They know what MAKES it good, but don't actually know how to do it themselves.

yea bit like when you go to a restaurant and don't like there food, you wouldn't no how to make it yourself but you no how it should taste

I was saying this about the PES09 videos not long ago. I suppose they are showing it in laymans terms

I just thought of something... maybe they actually try to suck. If they play at their best, viewers will see some strategies that are pretty good, and already know how to use them before the game is released.

Yes, I've noticed that. I assumed they were trying to show off how the game represents damage (like if the screen moves or goes blurry or how the characters react and such). At least I hope that's why they get hit so much.

They're too busy making games to play them.

Yeah, but most controls for games are relatively similar to other with a few minor tweaks. You're not going to play tons of Halo 2 and then hop into a Halo 3 match for the first time and get destroyed. I remember back when Halo 2 was popular and Bungie got destroyed in just about every challenge they issued.

Actually tons of the developers really are good at the games but whenever someone gets asked to come down and do demo at a convention its always the crapppy guys(the directors love it when one of the guys that made Halo falls of a cliff or drops a grenade in a tight corner and stands there waiting for the thing to explode.

Well not all obviously suck, but the directors and such usually do. Which are normally the ones doing the demonstrating. Insomniac used to hold matchs every weekend between a team of the developers against ordinary gamers on Resistance: Fall of Man. And from what I heard they were pretty good.

But the RE5 developers suck.

Bungie (the creators of the halo series) suck when it comes to playing the game. I don't think any of them are higher than a colonel.
