I really need some tips on getting better. I can attack but i just can't create space and i cannot, for the life of me defend at all. Are they're any tips that would help me get better and become better at online play. Thanks

I never slide tackle, unless there running down the wing and they tap it to far infront of them. Tbh, when they're attacking i just hold A and sprint.

On my controls tackle is A. Just use whatever button your tackle is then..

Oh and i need a tip (Hope you dont mind Val ) But when ever im running and i go to cross it in, it just crosses it to far back and swerves out the area.. do i need to stop to actually get on the peno spot

Like what Venne said, try to never slide tackle. Cause the game is very realistic, if a centre back dives in, you really are in trouble, so like said hold A. When a played is in a crossing position, hold the left trigger to jockey. It is very useful as you player will stay on your feet and can tackle well. The jockey can also be used when a player is running at you. Last tip is to NEVER hold the B button when the opposition is on attack or is in your half, when it in their's it's ok. Basically this drags people out of position, and if the opposition holds the left trigger, they can with ease just dribble past the defender within a mini second.

I have found no use in them what so ever. In the end you are the person controlling the person aswell lool.

I really love this game lots and recently reading a magazine, shamefully match, it has some tips in it on how to shoot well ect. I just cannot seem to do better in online play. I can do well against the CPU but i'll win a couple of games and have a good run and think, hey i've improved. Then i'll move onto seeing if i can hack online play and tackle a decent number of players. Then bang. I get brushed aside, it might be a low score, but christ i have played about 20 games. I've won 1 For gods sake. Why the hell can't i get better at online play. I've improved my passing to a one touch movement and looking for space. I've improved in shooting and i've stopped Sliding but i just cannot win for the life of me.

Do not do ranked matchs yet like me. I have never played a FIFA game before this where as I owned at PES online. My record on PES 2008 was around 156 - 43. Just do unranked and keep practicing. Do not train against the CPU as it is nothing like online play. Also, it will take you around 2 weeks to get perfectly used to the online half a second lag of when you push a button. No need to worry, you will eventually reach your peak.

Backoff when you're on the defence, give the attacker a couple of yards, gives you much more time to judge.

Yep, don't rush to the attacker, especially if they've got pace, cos they'll fly past you.

Try to play it as you would irl, I find that helps me tbh.

attacking wise the through ball is your best fiend,tall target men can hold up the play allowing a pacy forward/winger to bomb forward or play the ball through the middle and use your pace at defenders (players like martins, torres, walcott are best at this)

defending, hold A and its like a standing challenge try to edge the attacker off the ball only slide when the attacker isn't sprinting or iff they have taken an extra touch and the ball is a yard or so in front of the attacker
