I am playing as carnby and I am about to go into the library but it won't let me in I have the large ornate key and the guides say there are 2 and I went to where the other key is suppose to be and I press x and it won't let me pick it up do you know what I am doing wrong?

Sometimes you have to be in just the right spot to pick an item up. If you still can't pick it up it may be a glitch in the game. However, make sure you double check different strategy guides and FAQ's to make sure you're looking in the right areas for the key and using the key on the right door.

I figured it out and beat it yay! the problem was when you save in and turn it off and play it latter the game resets everything in the room so i did pick it up before but it reset it and it thought i picked it up so it wouldn't let me so basically it was a glitch

I've noticed that glitch before too. Every time I'd save my game in a particular room, shut off the system, then come back to it later; all the items I had picked up in that room have been reset back to their original spots and I have to end up grabbing them a second time. That can be a bitch if you've picked up something important, continue a saved game, forget to grab it again and end up wandering around the mansion wondering what to do next.
