Rs is dying. There's no doubt about it. Macros/Bots are taking over F2P, and are also moving onto members, which before was EXTREMELY uncommon.
Many people are being banned with no proof whatsoever, accused of real world trading, maybe because a friend loned them money, or they got an expensive item fast( Yes, that has happened, a player was banned for real world trading after getting Full Dragon in one day through Merchanting ).

JaGEx has let us players down. I have a feeling the last days of RS are here.

And yes, though the amount of players increases, what of the quality of players?
Thanks to JaGEx's recent advertisements on childrens websites, we are getting more and more immature players, who seem to think it right to insult someone, rather than play the game.

RS as we once knew it is dying, and sadly, there is nothing we can do to stop it.

Totally Agree - You will find more maturity in a Nursery Than Runescape Nowadays.

Yeah, its serious BS. I used to be able to go to the yews near draynor with only 1-2 autos, and 4-6 real people. Now? There are at least 15+ autos there. I try to mass report? Okay, first one down, second one- "You may only report once every 60 seconds" .

EDIT: OH YEAH, SERVERS DOWN. The autos are always gone after the servers go down. Its time to go a yewin' .

This happens to most MMORPGs, as sad as it is. Over the years they get worse and worse until they eventually become unplayable.

By the looks of the way bots are going Jagex should be taking a good hard look at Runescape 3, even that is just a quick fix though.

RS had a good run, it's become a horrible game by comparison, but I'll miss it when it dies.

I don't believe it is coming to an end but it is deffinately going down hill. Most of the auto's onlt cut yews on the f2p which is all i do so i cannot comment on mems. they annoy me abit as there is only 1 or 2 trees I can cut now. Alot of the people who are stupid and insult me are higher lvls like 40 or 50 who think just because I am lvl 6 means that i only started and are ther fore a "Noob". I have heared about some stupid bans because of forum content. I dont think it will die as jagex will not let it but it may become a place where the only people playing are auto's and kids who as you say would rather insult rather than play the game. Also th rate of player scamming has gone up alot

I agree with the macros point, but F2P is really just the free trial of the game. The small number that are trickling through to members are hugging the same tree in Falador, and the Essence mines, nowhere else. This hasnt really had an effect on the market, with Pure Essence still at around 100gp per, and Yews at 300gp, althought some players are gaining an unfair advantage through the usage of these programs.

The unfair bannings for trading large somes of money need to be stopped, but i do think the majority of the accounts banned on this offence are actually buying money outside of the game. JaGex can't possibly know what trades are legitimate and which arn't.

With the increase of players, comes the increase of servers. New servers are always being opened, and you can always find a world with under 1000 players even in peak times.

As for the annoying children that are joining, they would most likely stick to F2P (Keeping in mind it is the "Free Trial") and would quit after a few weeks, lacking the dedication and maturity to excel in the game, not to mention the fact the parents probably wouldnt allow them money to pay for members.

All in all, i don't believe RuneScape is coming to an end, and JaGeX are doing the best the can, despite a large number of players constantly unhappy with them because they dont make updates to meet their individual needs.

Scams have also got increasingly dumber( Trade for free monkfish, show inv. first ), I mean honestly....

yeah I had some guy come to me saying "Free rune ax just let me try on ur armour first to see how it feels"

Does it matter if scammers are on the increase? If you are stupid enough to fall for one you probably dont deserve the items anyway.
