The inevitable question has come to life: What exactly is this sub-forum for? Does everyone just submit their art into one thread or what?

Just like the Graphics Portfolios subforum in the G&A forum! Except here, you post your drawings and art I guess.

Good question, glad you asked.

As most of you are aware of, Fan Art has been going through some changes latly. First was the name changing to Art Central, and now we have a sub forum.

You can read up on the decisions [here].

This sub-forum, like Dragonite said will be like G & A, except a little different.

This sub-forum, like the name states, will be used as a gallery for the Artists of Neoseeker to post their work. It will NOT however be used for comments and the like.

It is for:

Easier viewing/browsing.

Linking to pieces of art in Art Central.

Keeping things organized.

...and things like that.

For now, we can use this thread for any questions you might have, and I'll shortly have an example up of how a person's gallery might look like.

Also note this is just a suggestion. You may add more if you wish, or not fill in some of the catagories.

Just please remember a few things:

This is not a place to put comments.

If you can, when you post an image in Art Central and when you put the same image up in the Gallery: Please try to remember to link them to each other!

Save the discussion for Art Central.

-Let their threads die off and use this?
-Will they keep posting in their other art threads and may not put their art in here?

** Most old pieces already have comments, so I would appreciate it if only new pieces, that were made as a single thread, would be linked. (Or at least linked to a neo thread. If it is a thumbnail picture, it can be linked to the full picture where it is hosted.)

Okay, well no one can comment here in this Sub-Forum. If you find a NEW** piece you like, it will be linked to it's single thread in Art Central, where you will be able to comment on it.

As to your other questions, in order:

Yes, I do not, under ANY circumstances, want the old threads deleted, so they will die peacefully to the last pages of Art Central Forum. I don't plan on closing them really, unless people keep accidently commenting on them and I have no other choice.

This gallery is for everyone to make a thread containing all their work so far, but without captions or explanations or comments. Then, all new pictures in the gallery will have a parallel to a thread in Art Central, where you can recieve feedback and go into technical discussions on that piece, and that piece only. [example]

I'm not sure what you mean by this question, but hopefully there are a few examples up that might help you out, or you can restate it and I'll see if I can help you out.

Okay, so, in my understanding, you're saying that in the sub forum we post all of our pics in our gallery thread (there'll be no comments). Then, have a new thread in Art Central for all the pics, or seperate threads for each pic?

Separate threads for each new picture.

And do we get comments in the individual threads or not?

Well, yeah. Then why would we have seperate threads for each picture in Art Central? (note that that question isn't supposed to be answered. I forgot what kind of question that's called)

You can comment in the Art Central thread for each piece.

People Lets give this a try its new, so it will be different for a little while, but its worth the try.


You Use one thread for Gallery only. People do not comment on it. OKay..

You post individual threads for the new work for the comments onthe new work that you posted in your gallery.

And yes Josh. The Gallery is for all works to just.. be there to look at.

Its Art Central that will be used for having each image be a separate thread. That is also where all commenting will be happening.

You're all correct in thinking it might be a bit difficult or odd in the beginning; and it will take a bit of work, but I think in the end, it will all be well worth it.

We can still post pictures in our old thread, right!?
I was thinking of that I would use the sub-forum for some of my art projects that I am going to make soon (summer vacation) and use my old thread for different pictures just like the way it is now!!

Well no, your old thread will just fade into the depths of Art Central. Your gallery in the sub-forum is for all work so far. Including old work and new work.
