Ok here's the first batch of X-Men sagas and crossovers.
The Dark Phoenix Saga Days of Future Past The Brood Mutant Massacre Fall of the Mutants Inferno Muir Island Saga X-Cutioner's Song Fatal Attractions Phalanx Covenant Age of Apocalypse
This ought to keep you busy for a day or two.
hm. I'll probably do a regular posting of Marvel Sagas. The next batch will probably be more X-Men, Daredevil, Thanos or requests. Or I might just do two of these in one post or something... anyway this will be a regular contribution from me.

Excellent work, thanks. Do you know of any good retailers that sell these works?

Well you could possibly try Mile High Comics they do online ordering. I've seen several of these at bookstores like Borders and Barnes & Noble. There are of course places like ebay. Most comics shops are supplied by Diamond Comics Distributors who have a massive in stock warehouse of graphic novels. There is also newkadia.com which is quite reliable with good prices and a rather large inventory.

There are two Secret Wars. They are titled Secret Wars and Secret Wars II (really original huh?). The original one is pretty much contained in the 12 issue Secret Wars series. The second one is a massive saga with a 9 issue series and crossover chapters spilling over into many issues of the various Marvel Comics series. The first one is generally regarded as far superior to the second Secret Wars, but the first Secret Wars is not as good as DC's Crisis on Infinite Earth's by a long shot.

What are the Secret Wars? I think that the symbiote spider-man was first introduced in that in the 80's.

The symbiote which became part of Venom was introduced in Secret Wars. The first Secret Wars introduce an omnipotent being called the Beyonder who abducted many of the Marvel heroes and villains (he also took Galactus which should indicate the level of his power). Both groups were placed on a world created by the Beyonder which was a patchwork world comprised of pieces of several planets. both sides were to battle and the winners would gain their heart's desires. The second Spiderwoman and Titania were also introduced in this series. I hope this answered your questions. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Where does the 'onslaught' x-men story line fit into place in the running of things. Is it considered a cross over because it features so many other heroes? I've only ever read the second installment (by accident), where can I buy the full story if it is even available?

The Onslaught story is to be considered a massive X-Men and Marvel Universe crossover. It is the beginning of Marvel's resolution of many long running subplots in the X Men series. It also set up Heroes Reborn. It can be found in multiple volumes where graphic novels are sold. It is the next saga after Age of Apocalypse.

I was thinking we could post some character bios at posters requests. In another forum, one person asked for info on iceman, maybe this could be the first?

Sounds good to me. I'll take care of that one myself after I double check a few things on Iceman.
Time for another saga chronology post from me. This one will be Daredevil. Please note this is the order the events take place and not the sequence of publication. This is the first batch of Daredevil Sagas. Also some of these sagas are actually my own titles for crucial runs in the series by specific creators.
Daredevil: Man Without Fear-origin miniseries by Miller Daredevil: Yellow - sequel mini by Loeb and Sale The Early Years* Black Widow* Kingpin and the Assassins* Born Again Typhoid Mary* Fall of the Kingpin Dead Man's Hand* Fall From Grace
The Early Years is my own title for the first few years of this book which introduce much of the main DD cast, allies, and villains. This run of issues is grouped together because it was primarily written by Stan Lee which is enough of a reason to put this run on the list.
Black Widow is my own title for the span of this series time when the Black Widow was featured in each issue as DD's partner. The title actually read as Daredevil and the Black Widow for a length of time.
Kingpin and the Assasins is my own title for Frank Miller's groundbreaking run on this series. It featured Elektra, added the Kingpin, and so forth.
Typhoid Mary is my own title for the Ann Nocenti and John Romita Jr. run on this book which often featured Typhoid Mary and the Kingpin. This era in Daredevil also pitted DD against Mephisto and Ultron, and teamed him up with the Inhumans at one point.
Dead Man's Hand was a crossover with the Punisher and Nomad. It was quite good and enjoyable. It also included several obscure and seldom used villains rather effectively.
Ok, that's the first batch of Daredevil Sagas. My next post will include at least a chronology of the first batch of Marvel Universe sagas/crossovers and a bio on Iceman.

The Inhumans are a race of humans mutated through Kree technology and were introduced in Fantastic Four. The Inhumans are all strange, perhaps more so than any group of mutants including the Morlocks.
On to the Iceman bio.
Codename: Iceman Real Name: Robert Drake Affiliation: X-Men
Iceman is a founding member of the X-Men, and left the team when the new X-Men were introduced. He joined a shortlived team called the Champions which was an eclectic collection of heroes two of which were Ghost Rider and Hercules. Iceman was also a member of the Defenders alongside former X-Men Angel and Beast. He is also a founding member of X-Factor along with the other members of the original X-Men. Iceman is a mutant gifted with the power to manipulate cold and moisture. He manifests these powers in the form of Ice and can create things from ice such as walls or spikes. He can also project intense subzero temperatures and blasts of ice. His powers have been continuously growing since they emerged and were inadvertantly enhanced during the Fall of the Mutants. He returned to the X-Men after the Muir Island Saga and has been a member since.
Ok, that was some basic info, history, and highlights. Here's a chronology for the first batch of Marvel Universe sagas and crossovers.
Contest of the Champions Secret Wars Secret Wars II Evolutionary War Inferno Atlantis Attacks Infinity Gauntlet Infinity War Infinity Crusade Onslaught Heroes Reborn Heroes Return
The next chronology will be the Avengers. If there isn't a request for a bio, I'll randomly pick a character for one in my next saga chronology post.
Would there be any takers on a similiar thread for the DC Comics Universe?

I think you could put DC in this thread. How about a villain bio? My personal favourite is Apocolypse but feel free to write about whoever.
