Well If no one requests anything different by tomorrow, I'll post an Apocalypse bio.
Any preferences on the first DC sagas and crossovers post or DC character bio post?
Anyway time for another sagas chronology.
This one is going to be Spiderman's first batch of Sagas.
The Early Years* The Death of Gwen Stacy and the Green Goblin The Clone Saga I Return of the Green Goblin* Juggernaut The Alien Costume The Death of Jean DeWolf The Hobgoblin Kraven's Last Hunt The Wedding Venom Venom Returns The Assassination Plot Return of the Sinister Six Perceptions Revenge of the Sinister Six Round Robin: The Sidekick's Revenge
The Early Years is my own title for Stan Lee's run on the book.
Return of the Green Goblin is my own title for a multi issue story where the Green Goblin attempts to take over the mob.
Juggernaut, Venom, and Venom returns are all rather short, but are major stories.

Juggernaught and Black Tom Cassidy want to abduct the psychic Madame Web and use her powers for their benefit. The Juggernaght tears a path of destruction through NYC. As luck would have it Spiderman is the only hero in town at the time and must deal with the Juggernaught himself. Spiderman is in way over his head, backed against the wall, against a foe he can barely slow down, and the odds are drastically against him. Definitely a recipe for an excellent Spiderman story.

Sounds great. I'm really sorry but....who is Madam Web? I've heard the name but don't know what she looks like or how she came about.

She was a psychic who appeared in Amazing Spiderman in the early 1980's. You are probably more familiar with her from the Spiderman cartoons where she was a recurring characte and was much more powerful. In the cartoon she was more of a Dr. Strange type mystical character.

How many differant publications of X-men are there? It's quite confusing if you're new to it all but want to learn more. There's uncanny, essential, ultimate, etc... are there more than the above, what's the differance, do their timelines match or are they alternate universes etc?

Well essentially any X-Men comic except for Ultimate X-men is part of the standard marvel and X-men continuity. It will get kind of confusing at times dealing with Cable's past, Phoenix II's background, Age of Apocalypse and the rest. The Ultimate Marvel line is another continuity and in my opinion greatly inferior to the established Marvel continuity.

Has anyone seen the new X2 movie? I think it's excellent. It features a much wider range of mutants and some cameos too. At the end we begin to see the emergence of Pheonix. But it will have to be explained in the 3rd movie. I think it will at odds with the comic stories.

If it's at odds or not it should be rather good. The X-Men stories with Pheonix and Dark Phoenix were some of the best storylines of the entire franchise of X-Men series.

I agree with that last statement!
It's good to see a thread about Marvel Comics. I made a suggestion for a comic book forum ages ago but was promptly ignored.
I have a feeling I may be posting regularly here so I'd best say a few things about myself. Like you guys I'm a bit of a comic fan-boy. Spider-man and X-men are probably my 2 favourites. My favourite characters from Marvel are Scarlet Spider, Wolverine, Cable, Apocalypse, Spider-man, Bishop and Kaine (from spiderman).
I'm particularly intrigued by the X-Men: Age of Apocalypse storyline, the Spiderman Clone Saga, The Phoenix Saga, the mystery of Wolverines Origin and the Time Travelling mutants Cable and Bishop. I'm also a massive fan of the X-Men animated series. if you ever want to chat with me about nerd stuff add me to your MSN contact list: badkebab@hotmail.com.
Anyway, to add to the ongoing discussion of X-men 2, this movie rules! I've seen it twice since it came out last thursday. I too wonder how theyre going to adapt the Phoenix Saga to the big screen. I also wonder about Gambit. He's one of the more popular characters, and I'd be surprised if he wasnt in X-3. I was surprised he wasn't in X-2!

Welcome to this thread Mantis. I'm actually not a fan boy but I'm trying to learn all I can. Mister Macphisto has been doing a damn good job of patiently informing me of the various story-lines and cross overs. Your input would be greatly appreciated if only to give MM a break! I repeat, as this is an experimentational thread, post anything Marvel, DC or super hero/ vilain related..

Appreciate the concern, but who said I was getting tired? Anyhow if we do any discussing of DC like we have of Marvel, and I really, really, really, really, really hope we do then it should be a separate thread to eliminate confusion because so many concepts between the two are different. Besides putting both in the same thread would be like putting Star Trek and Star Wars into the same thread. Needless to say that shouldn't happen. Besides it's easier to wind up with a separate forum if you have a proliferation of similiar but different threads in a forum.
Anyhow... another saga chronology. This one is Wolverine.
The Origin Weapon X Wolverine and Kitty Pryde Wolverine (mini series) Save the Tyger The Gehenna Stone Affair The Scorpio Affair Dark Hearts Scorpio Rising The Crunch Conundrum Wolverine and Gambit

Ok one bio on Apocalypse coming up. I'll post some specific issue numbers and or storyline titles after I get a chance to double check 'em.
Codename: Apocalypse Real Name: En Sabah Nur
Apocalypse is a mutant among mutants with augmented abilities. He is immortal and can ressurect himself into the body of his choosing should the need arise. He possesses tremendous strength and energy based abilities and is also a metamorph. He is responsible for the origin of several characters in the Marvel Universe. Some of these are Moses Magnum, Archangel, Cable, Stryfe, and Sinister. Cable's AI computer, Professor was originally the computer of Apocalypse's massive ship which was taken over by X-Factor. He was born in ancient times and imprisoned Ozymandias of antiquity as his undying scribe. Apocalypse began the develop of the Legacy Virus which Stryfe completed. He is the sole ruler of Earth in the future during the time of Cable's youth. He has turned both Wolverine and the Hulk into his Horsemen for brief periods of time. He has been revered as a god at different times throughout the world. He is easily one of the most dangerous and powerful of villains. His motto is "survival of the fittest".
So is this what you guys wanted or do you want more info on Apocalypse? Anyhow feel free to request anymore bios. I'll do another saga chronology post soon. It will probably be Avengers or a continuation of Spiderman.
