Yep, the only thing is that Frank Miller didn't work on it. I believe it was written by Marv Wolfman of New Teen Titans fame. The first part was drawn by Alan Davis and the rest was drawn by Todd McFarlane.

I gotta get my money grubing hands on that. What did you think of Batman year 1 and 2? Year 1 is one my favorite batman stories. Also, did year 2 have the joker, because year one ended with gordan telling the bat that some lune has poisined gotham's water supply or something then he says he calls himself the joker.

Year 1 was awesome, and I loved Year 2. Year 2 had Batman find the murderer of his parents and battle a murderous vigilante from Gotham's past: the Reaper.

If you want more Year 1 style Batman stories read Batman: The Long Halloween and much of the Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight series especially any of the first 50 issues.

Ok, I try to find some of those bad boys. I think the joker should have been the enemy of year2, cause the first one left off at the end of the year, telling about the joker. Oh well, if frank wrote it would have been that way. I liked frank millers dark night returns, but i only bought the dark night strikes back part one. It seemed ok, but I didnt get to read enough to really get into the story. What did you think of it?

It was... was... was... awesome just doesn't seem to be good enough. It was magnificent, and in my opinion because it captured the essence of Batman so well. He's also done a sequel DK2: The Dark Knight Strikes Back which is also excellent. The sequel has Batman take on the government and the Justice League now comprised of Superman, Wonder Woman, and Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel, what are his powers? I know who he is, but after all this time I never really noticed his powers. I have never even picked up a book with him in it either.

His powers are strength, speed, invulnerability, flight, and wisdom. His powers are derived from Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus,Mercury, and I forget the other one. I'll look that last one up tonight; it starts with "A".

The Beano is of DC Universe is it not, I'ms ure I have seen somewhere on credentials or © etc. I'm asking here as I'm not sure which thread to discusss it in and mostly think it's a DC Universe creation.

I really don't know anything about that. I've heard of the series Tales of Beanworld though.

Captain Marvel says the word Shazam to change between Billy Batson and Captain Marvel. He is mystically powered so can defeat Superman. In the 1940's he was the only character to regularly outsell Superman. Which was no mean feat. That was like trying to always outsell X-Men in the late '80s and early '90s.

can someone who is knowlegeable (i.e macphisto) give me a run down on the events surrounding the death and return of superman. i have a few related issues and it intrigues me but i don't knwo much about it. can i get it in collected form somehwere?

The death of Superman and return was collected in the Death of Superman and Reign of the Supermen graphic novel collections. What exactly are you wanting to know about the entire storyline? Also the Funeral for a Friend story was the middle part of the trilogy.

Did superman ever kill the guy the guy that killed him? I think the guys name was doomsday or something along those lines...
