The first time they fought yes. The second time Superman trapped him at the end of time. The third time Doomsday with the mind of Brainiac took on the Justice League. He was defeated by being trapped in a set of teleporters. This caused him to never be completely materialized for any amount of time in any given location.

quoteThis caused him to never be completely materialized for any amount of time in any given location. How long exactly is this 'Amount of Time' he is given? I was thinking that if he could materialise within a lcoation for some decent enough time to each time cause damage bit by bit or perhaps death, it would still be enough to do some evil in some sense. Or if this any given time is 10 mintues then that's bad too. Or does it mean he is literally immobalised to one spot and can not actually phsyically move? '_'

It's instantaneous. He's constantly being shunted through space via the teleporter tubes so it's as if he was trapped in a formless limbo.

Of the actual Green Lantern Corps (excluding Alan Scott cause he wasn't an Oan Power Ring Powered GL) there have been 5. These are Hal Jordan, John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner, and Jenny Hayden-Scott (Alan Scott's daughter).

Bumped up with a Green Arrow bio...
GREEN ARROW Real name: Oliver Queen Occupation: Adventurer Base of Operations: Star City Marital Status: Single Height: 5' 11" Weight: 185 Eyes: Green Hair: Blond First Appearance: (historic) MORE FUN COMICS #73 (November, 1941); (modern) ADVENTURE COMICS #250 (July, 1958)
A sudden lurch on a South Seas cruise knocked billionaire Oliver Queen overboard where he eventually washed up on Starfish Island. Inspired by his Robinson Crusoe-like situation, he fashioned a bow to fend for himself in order to survive. After escaping the island, Oliver returned to Star City where he captured a two-bit crook at a costume ball who said he "would have gotten away with it if it wasn't for that green, arrow guy."
With a nickname coined by the press, Green Arrow and his sidekick Speedy made it their mission to protect Star City. Green Arrow joined the Justice League of America and soon fell in love with member Black Canary. In the ensuing year after losing his fortune, Ollie traveled the country with Green Lantern Hal Jordan while his left-behind ward dabbled with drugs that caused the two to go their separate ways.
Green Arrow fashioned himself over the years into a modern-day Robin Hood that has been on both sides of the law while seeking his own brand of justice with a bow. On one such case, while stopping a militant group called the Eden Corps, Oliver Queen was killed in an airplane explosion over Metropolis. After Queen's death, Connor Hawke, the son whom he had barely known, picked up the bow and continued the good fight as the second Green Arrow.
This wasn't Oliver's end, however, as Hal Jordan (during his time as Parallax) used godlike powers to bring his old friend back from the dead. Unfortunately, the reanimated hero was an empty vessel with no soul, whose memories were replicated from his earlier days when he had a stronger liberal conscience. Ollie's more experienced soul remained in a Heaven-like place for a time, until it was reunited with his body in order to defeat an evil warlock named Stanley Dover. Now, the original Green Arrow is back in action with a rare second chance at life to make up for previous mistakes with his loved ones, all while renewing his vows to be a defender of the downtrodden.

Could you please explain the differences between the different "lantern colors"? I've heard there were yellow, red, etc. rings as well...

Are you thinking of power ring colors or kryptonite colors? The colors of power rings are green (Oan Green Lantern Corps) and yellow (produced by the Weaponeers of Qward).

I was thinking of power rings...what was the difference between green and yellow, as well as who made them?
Also, I was completely unaware that there were different colors of kryptonite. Do they have different effects? Different flavors? Does the purple one turn Superman gay?

The green power rings were created by the Guardians from the planet Oa. These rings were then used by the Green Lantern Corps. Traditionally these rings have had a twenty four hour time limit on the charge they carry and do not affect the color yellow. The ring gave the bearer power to do anything within the scope of his or her imagination and willpower.
The weaponeers of Qward, enemies of the Guardians and inhabitants of the Antimonitor's Antimatter Universe, manufactured yellow power rings which could perform the same feats as the Oan power rings. These yellow rings were charged by stealing energy from the Oan power rings.
The only oddity is the original Green Lantern of Earth, Alan Scott, whose ring was manufactured from the Starheart which was a physical embodiment of all the chaos magic in the universe collected and entrapped by the Guardians. Alan Scott has been able to use his ring to reverse the flow of time.
I'll put the kryptonite info in the Superman thread.

All of the Oan power rings except Kyle Rayner's are the same (his has no vulnerability to yellow nor the 24 hour time limit on holding a charge). The limits on the rings powers and abilities are primarily due to the imagination and willpower of the wearer. Here is the Green Lantern thread.

Shall we include "Hypertime" and "Elseworlds" into the title of this thread?

Cancellations abound.
quote Newsarama interview with Dan Didio
NRAMA: Moving to what got a lot of the buzz – the first wave of casualties of Infinite Crisis in regards to titles being cancelled. Just to confirm everything…Flash is ending with the January issue that has already been solicited?
DD: Correct. With issue #230.
NRAMA: And Wonder Woman is ending?
DD: Yes, with #226.
NRAMA: Gotham Central was covered when we spoke with Greg Rucka, and Gotham Knights as well?
DD: Right Gotham Knights ends with #74.
NRAMA: Any others?
DD: Let me pull out my full list: Plastic Man with #20, Flash with #230, Superman #226 is the last issue for that numbering, Wonder Woman #226 is the last issue of that run, Gotham Knights #74, Gotham Central #40, JLA #125, and Batgirl #73.
NRAMA: That’s a healthy list…
DD: Yeah, we’re feeling good about ourselves (laughs). Excerpted from DAN DIDIO: CANCELLATIONS, CHANGES, AND OTHER THINGS TO COMEEDIT: 10000th post in the Comics Forum This message was edited by SenorZorro2000 on Dec 02 2005.
