Okay guys, clue me in on something.

What the hell has happened to Darkseid? Or Metallo? Because those Batman/Superman tpb's just have me lost. Supposedly, Darkseid is stuck in some wall at the end of the universe, and Metallo just went wandering off god knows where with a coffin and the possible fact that he may have killed Batman's parents?!?

I want answers!

I wouldn't mind seeing Darkseid back in action, but I don't really care whether I ever see Metallo again. Without the Kryptonite gimmick, he's nothing special.

And there is more to Metallo than the "kryptonite gimmick." The metallo substance he's made of gives him the power to reconfigure his body.

I'm going to be honest and say that I like the Marvel Universe a lot more than the DC one.

Don't you compare Metallo to Plastic man! Plastic Man would get his ass handed to him so quick, it wouldn't be funny.

Knowing Plastic Man, it probably would. The only time I ever thought he was in any real danger was when Doomsday/Braniac literally tore him apart in The Doomsday Wars.

But it's Plastic man. He sucks, he's not all cool and badass like Metallo.

Hey, there's something I noticed. Metallo, for the most part, never really did anything exceptionally cool or badass until he debuted in the Superman animated series of the 90's. And he was undoubtedly badass there.

Ach, I don't take anything in an animated series to be canon, although I do consider any given half-hour episode of Batman: The Animated Series (original style animation, not that pointy-shoulder mess) to far outweigh the quality of either of Joel Schumacher's attempts at Batman films.

Well, duh, nothing in the shows are canon (with the very possible exception of Batman's Harley Quinn, who if I remember, actually got her start in the animated series.) But you can't deny that Metallo was ridiculously cool in the show.

Does anybody bother to acknowledge Hypertime anymore? As I understand it, everything even tangentially related to the DC Universe ties in with it, so I suppose television and movie adaptations are technically canon there, even if nobody mentions them.

What became of Hypertime before this whole Infinite Crisis multiverse mess came up is anybody's guess.

I keep trying to read Showcase Presents: Green Arrow, but it's just so boring. Every Deus Ex Machina trick arrow they whip out seems less credible than Silver Age Superman's wide variety of superpowers. I've tried pretending that I'm reading a different version of Batman to help spice things up a little, but the similarities end with Queen's financial status, sidekick, and arrow gimmicks. He isn't the World's Greatest Detective, he doesn't have some moving origin steeped in tragedy, and he doesn't have any seriously threatening rogues or regularly appearing allies. If I don't get more into these stories within a few days, I may move on to one of my other Showcase Presents volumes, either Superman Family, Teen Titans, or Justice League of America.

... Y'know, I'm STILL waiting for an answer on what the hell happened to Metallo. Darksied, I've figured out already. But will somebody explain to me the case with Metallo?!?

Sorry, still trying to get over that Plas not being in any real danger statement. I guess someone skipped the first Prometheus story along with "Tower of Babel" and "Obsidian Age".

Not too sure on Metallo. Apparently at some point he's been given a new cyborg body with the organic parts being cloned from his original body. One more thing to keep reading OYL for and hope is detailed in 52 I suppose.

Huh. So that's probably what he needed the coffin for.
