I think the movie should continue the story were Defiance left off. I loved the ending but it also opened the story for some kind of continuation. I think I may have the near perfect screen play in mind but it's long and I only wish I had the time too type it right now. As for the themes, the best LOK music I've heard has always been Ozar Midrashim by Information Society. If they can write and even darker such theme for Kain and the plot I have in mind, the movie may actually be worth something.......But don't quote me on that.

Look, I've been thinking about this a lot. The best way to make a movie is a 3d animated! In that way, there will be no problems at all. Except the music, that thing will always be the problem. Now, all we need is a rich fan of Legacy of Kain, and we can start making a movie!

I know this thread is really old but I found it when googling "legacy of kain movie".

After reading everyone's posts I have to point out a few things. Some of these things are facts, others are just my opinions. Take them as you will.

Michael Bell and Simon Templemen, the voice actors of Legacy of Kain LOOK JUST LIKE THEIR GAME CHARACTERS. Templemen has even played some roles in Buffy and Angel, vampiric TV shows. No need for dumb big name actors or expensive cinematic graphics.

Tony Jay (bless his soul, no pun intended) can be replaced just as they replaced Mobius'voice actor. Tony Jay once did Mortanius' voice too, but they replaced him as well.

If they were to make any movies it should be Blood Omen and Soul Reaver, that's it, the ORIGINAL Soul Reaver that didn't make it into the final retail version. I'm talking about the version where Raziel kills Turel and Kain and opens up the pipes of the Silent Cathedral to cleanse Nosgoth of the vampire scourge and end the story once and for all. Slipknot, Black Sabbath or whatever bands you guys biasedly like SHOULD NEVER be used in anything bearing Legacy of Kain on it's title. A LoK movie should use an original soundtrack or score or even a modified version of the video games' score. It would be an insult and a costly expense to have any bands other than the one that did Ozar the Soul Reaver theme do any LoK movie music. I would NEVER watch an LoK movie with mainstream music in it. NEVER!!!!!!! Plus not everyone likes goth metal or whatever multi millions of rock/metal genres you people come up with on a daily basis to classify your own taste in music. I perosnally like rap and 80's pop, but I would kill myself if it was in LoK. LoK should only have it's own orchestrated music. It would be a great injustice to LoK to have a freaking rapper or band make or host it's soundtrack.

I have the best of the ideas, I DONT CARE IF SOMEBODY STEAL IT, i just want to see this great game, maybe SOUL REAVER FUSION, so after defiance raziel sacrifice himself, and he is in that soul reaver 4 times more powerful, the eyes in the sword are brilliant and have that spectral aura, so imagine a new game, EVERYBODY WANT TO SEE RAZIEL and that can be possible if we make this game playable whit the two characters at the same time, kain can find some way to get raziel out of the sword for a while so raziel can go to the spectral world or underwater and use his abilities ,and then kain can transport where raziel is with his mystical link, raziel have to be like a special power because he has to keep connected to the sword when hes out, and when he's inside, gives to kain the ultimate soul reaver.

Kain have to bee tha main character, the pillars not matter any more because the hylden will be complete exterminated by the guardian of balance. maybe kain kills his past version and stay in the past, after all he is a kain of another time line, but have to be only one to dont create a paradox.

even the game can include something never seen in LOK SR, a two player mode, raziel out of the sword and kain whit a soul reaver not so powerful, fighting together a lot of enemies.

somebody send this idea to eidos, please.

I think make a pure CG movie with original voice acting cast.

And no shitty music like you suggested as Legacy of Kain is a game of elegance and class, not modern day rock. There should be powerful orchestra made by none other then Kurt Harland himself.

Although I'd love to see a movie; I wouldn't bare the disappointment if it failed.

A Legacy of Kain movie would be great, but a full CGI movie is a bad idea. You don't get the same thing you do with a live action movie, and the music should be the same as whats on the game to give that atmosphere.

Its hard to think of an actor for raziel but for kain i think either Stephen Billington or Jason Isaacs, i think in my opinion that Jason Isaacs could play this role very well.

Oh and the last thing you should mix with LOK is evensence or techno, that would just be an insult to the series.. LOK deserves music with some balls like some white zombie or killswitch

Raziel would more or less have to be CG, so you might as well get Micheal Bell to voice him. Raziel just isn't Raziel without the voice.

And you'd be hard-pressed to get many SR fans to accept anyone but Simon Temple as Kain...

It would work best as a CG movie, with the original voice actors!

Though Jeremy Irons would likely make a great Moebius.

I think it'd be better as a series rather than movies. I am just suggesting here, and i have no idea if this is even being used anymore. Even so, i think any movie(s) would be harder to follow than a series

Omg. People. PLEASE STOP. Don't spoil this game more than Defiance (worst game ever) has done. I am like the biggest fan of lok ever, and soul reaver 1 is best thing that ever happened to me, and i hope no one will make this movie. no one could depict what game has brought to me. dont spoil it.

Uhm....LOVE the idea of the movie. Kain has been my "love" for quite some time.
However, I cannot figure out how to beat Malichai. PLEASE HELP. Don't laugh at me either....not fair. Oh, and has anyone else HATED how damn slow blood omen can get and all the technical difficulties?

This was all really funny to read. I am writting the screenplay to Legacy of Kain and will keep all this in mind. LOL A lot of you are really silly. I'm taking the dialouge from the game as is to make it that much more cool. I am keeping it the same really except for one major thing. Instead of going through caves to blood forges or solving puzzles I am making it into a fight scene. And no I am not making this CGI I am writting this all live action. Think Lord of the Rings, Resident Evil type of things. Special effects are all over these days so live action is the way to go. It take's less time then CGI and time is money. I hope you all enjoy. I know this thread is old, but I found it googling too and I wanted to drop my 2 cents on this.

I like the concept of making a film about LOK. Its one of the best games I played in terms of storyline and certainly deserves a movie or a sequel of movies.

Somethings basic things you should have in mind and respect in making a film is:

1- Music: Stick with Ozar Midrashim and Information Society. The music helps creating the atmosphere of the game A LOT. If you put another thing in it (Korn, Evanescence, whatever) it will get a totally other meaning, specially for everyone who has played the game before.

2- Be it pure CGI or mixed CGI-Real Images, You must more then grasp , AT LEAST, Raziel and kain both voices and visual aspect. I think there are quite good voice mannipulators these days, so that wont be a lot of a problem I guess.

3 - BE faithfull to the storyline. Cut some scenes if you REALLY have to, but stick with it! Dont try to reeinvent a wheel that is not even broken! Dont try to be original, dont try to be different, dont try to be funny, dont try to be smart! Just capture the atmosphere of Nosgoth, the characters and story line and the success will be guaranteed!!! This includes all the time travelling of course... wich I recognize, it will be "hard to digest" in a movie, but people have to get used to better/complex stories instead of the same old things for brainless chumps. Dot be afraid to be complex! The Matrix had som complex concepts too and I loved it.

4- I agree that if you use real actors...Johny deep would do great as Raziel... but you can always find someone else for it. Remember, you just have to get the charecter from the game series! Again, most of the work is already done, if you dont try to reenvent the wheel!
