i agree with you. if a movie is made it should be animated because it wouldn't be the same with out the same voices. i couldn't imagine kain without simon's voice. it would just be weird.

Okay as many other people said I know this thread is old but being the huge fan of the lok series I HAVE to add my thoughts to this.
First off the legacy of kain series would make a divine movie series. Yes It would have to be a Movie series but it would be a damn good one. Now for those who moronicly said it would have be CGI, BULLSHIT!! One the game was already made in good Cgi grapics so it would be like taking all the cutscenes and meshing it all together with a few added crap. that is lazy and horriable. Secondly on that note it would be unoriginal. The CGI thing worked for final fantasy vii because the game was not in exceptional graphics as viii or ix had so it was easier to reimagine it and make it that much better. Due to the fact that lord of the rings length and quality it shows that lok live action would be expensive but fully possiable.
Furthermore the music should be done by the same composers of the game mingled in with some other skilled composer to present a unique flavoring to it. No BULLSHIT of adding already made songs to the movies. Now I personally love Hard rock and metal as well as classical so a combination of that would be badass for such a brutally hardcore series. There would be nothing totally wrong with skipping Bo2 but It would need major refrenceing because it reveals who the hylden actually are and that is too major to pass on. And it should refer in defiance how the end of So2 Caused Bo2 to Happen. For those who don,t understand the whole time traviling complex, this story will be naturally aimed at an intellegent audiance and probably be liked by those who have a hard time grasping some of its concepts. the movies should go in game order preferably Bo2 in the mix or else it will seem like it foucses too much on Raziel and not enough on Kain. It is caklled The legacy of kain not the legacy of Raziel. SoulReaver is just A Big part of Kains life because Raziel is the most important person in his life next to the Importance of Nosgoth. And of course Scenes will have to be cut becuse no movie can contain all of one game so like all movies you have to find the right ones. Down to the actors. You could use any one as long as they are skilled. But with make up you could use the main characters such as Simon Templemen ( he kind of looks like Kain in the face, Human on of course) Micheal Bell Could not play a human Raziel Because No Offense to Him but he is too old to pull it off. Here is where you could throw Hollywood stars in. The guy who dose Janos Audron could play him with make up. this guy has extensive acting experence. The rest is up to imagination. the movies wold probably have to go in this order:

Lok: Blood Omen
Lok: Soul Reaver
Lok: Soul Reaver 2
Lok: Blood omen 2 ( this would be fourth because it is the time paradox caused by the hylden in So2. It would play the Prequil of the story.)
Lok: Defiance
And then Lok: What ever it is to finish off. All in all This is one Game series I would love to see turned into a movie the most. And that is my 2cents on that topic.

There's too much backstory to have to worry about CGI being like meshing the cutscenes together, and the CGI is so much more advanced now that it would be a lot different.

Just a quick FYI here, Director Uwe Boll has announced plans to produce an adaptation film of The Legacy of Kain. The Unfortunate part about this is that it is being directed by Uwe Boll, the same man who directed BloodRayne. Not to mention it's going to be a film adaptation. (which means they are probably going to rape the living hell out of the story line.) at this point i am pretty confident that when (and or if) they make a Legacy of Kain Movie they will rape the story line, considering i just got done reading the story line to the 2008 Far Cry Movie (which is directed by Uwe Boll, the same man who perhaps will be directing The Legacy of Kain Movie) and they story is about 75% different from the game. Also, from looking at the Far Cry Movie and BloodRayne Movie, it will more than likely be a live action movie.

But then again, Contrary to the Far Cry and BloodRayne Movie, things might turn out differently. For Example Rumors began to surface that Uwe Boll expressed interest in a Metal Gear Solid movie, and claimed to have been given a script to read, soon after, Hideo Kojima (Metal Gear Solid Creator) Responded in an audioblog "Absolutely not! I don't know why Uwe Boll is even talking about this kind of thing. We've never talked to him. It's impossible that we'd ever do a movie with him."

I guess it all depends on the Creators of The Legacy of Kain, and their thoughts toward Uwe Boll as a director, and hopefully they make the wise decision of selecting a different, perhaps more qualified director because The Legacy of Kain has too awesome of a story to be ruined by a crappy director.

Why doesn't somebody write a e-mail or letter too Sci-Fi Channel with a petition from all the fans that want a movie an/or Series made for this game.
Sci-Fi channel does all the best shows an stuff we should try an get them too make it.
An I think a series would be even better then a movie a series could be anything from 3 too 10 parts.
So they could fit all everything into it.

I personally don't feel the Sci-Fi channel will do this series/big screen production justice. It will turn out moreso like Stargate or Zena. (not to hate on all you Stargate/Zena fans). I believe this film needs an experienced/seasoned director. Let's do Kain justice here. Such a cool game series and a devout following needs the "real deal". I'd say Tim Burton would be o.k. though he's a little off keel and not perfect. Somebody needs to get the ball rolling with maybe Stephen King? I forgot who directed 300 but THAT is the guy to get!!!
A television series would keep you in suspence every 15 minutes and totally suck from one episode from the next - much like LOST> was a fan - totally let down.

I agree with Ezekeiel Rage...it would be a great idea, for me is the best story ever but its very complex for making a live action movie.. would be better an high quality animated film or something like that... The music? The best answer ever ozar midrashim indeed... the composer of every single art piece of songs that gives LOK games the best ambience ever heard..

Simon Templeman was the voice of Kain and with a bit of make-up could pull it off...

I can only hope and pray that they don't F*!k it up like they've done most of the other movies in the showbiz. There's too many ideas on who should play Kain and Raziel, Johnny Depp as Raziel? Come on!! Why don't we get Pamela Anderson to play Ariel? Or Kevin Spacey to play Mobius. And Slipknot to do the Soundtrack? WTF??! Get the original cast that did the game, and do a trilogy in CGI like Beowulf... keep the movie to the straight facts like the game... case closed... otherwise they must not make the film at all... I refuse to watch a good storyline go to hell in some crappy directors futile attempt to make himself look good...

youve no idea about soundtracks

The movie would look great as some of you mentioned with the use of Blue-screen to fill in the incredible environment these games entail. Remember "300" I thought Blue-screen worked well for that movie. In my opinion the character Raziel should be an undefined actor, one we haven't seen yet. Most of the characters should be new. That would make this work well because die hard LOK fans would have a harder time getting bent out of shape if the casting directors signed on a well known actor. Curiosity would rule here. The idea of Christian Bale as Kain is pretty good though. He is an actor of unlimited talent by far. Think of how they could doctor him up for the role or any of the actors these days. To make this film work the five things would need to happen. The first, a beautiful rendition of Nozgoth through the use of Blue-screen (utterly captivating.) The second, a good, solid script! The third, a mix of quality, new and veteran actors. Fourth on the list, a dark, Gothic soundtrack with minimal words. You don't want hardcore music in this movie screaming death and destruction! It will ruin it I guarantee it! Keep it dark and powerful, even beautiful to a degree but stay away from all the heavy stuff. Lastly, (obvious) pray for a good director with a clear vision and understanding of how the story of these characters works. There is no way this film could be anything other than big budget!

Hollywood is making money off of trilogies that really are not that good. As long as the story is organic and progessive and not the same thing over and over, I suppose it's fine. Like Alien 3 and 4. Unnecessary. Terminator 3. Unnecessary. Some films are good left just the way they are, as the story unfolds and ends. You don't need to murder it by throwing millions of dollars into a useless production. Honestly, I would hate to se Legacy of Kain become the next Harry Potter.

i think itd be a really cool thing to see raziel and kain in a film, but id hate to see one of my favourite games turned into what "lord of the rings", "resident evil", "harry potter" or "tomb raider" have turned into. at least final fantasy has survived to its films...

anyway i was thinking that the time travels would confuse people too much: the story of legacy of kain is not easy to follow of you explain it to someone or show it in a film.
but anyway,... i think we all can keep dreaming with the idea!

Simon Templeman could definitely pull off Kain. We know from Charmed that he can act, he definitely sounds like Kain because, well, he is! Then have Michael Bell pull a Gollum/Smeagle. He can do the voice and Mo-Cap, and CGI Raziel's image. Also, if you prefer, you could keep Raziel live-action, and keep Michael Bell. Most of Raziel's face is hidden, and he doesn't have a lower jaw, so Michael won't have a hard time looking like him! As for CGI background, I agree. It's a must. No real place or set would compare to the wonder computers can make. For the Elder God, I'm really sad Tony Jay died. The only person I can think of right now would be Christopher Lee. Unlike most of you, I think it is important to show how Kain came back after his defeat at the hands of the Sarafan Lord. How would this sound to you: Raziel: Kain? You're alive?! The Sarafan Lord killed you! Kain: No, I'm alive. Bam, it's done. No way. You all know Raziel would want to know what happened. How about this: Raziel: Kain? You're alive?! The Sarafan Lord killed you! Kain: No, I survived. I will tell you in due time, Raziel. Then, at the end he says the time may be now. Next movie starts them at the end of the previous movie, and he tells the story.
