A gameshark is a mechanism which functions by altering the coding values of a game to create a desired result that is something other then the coding would normally allow. In short, it accomplishes this by replacing numeric values with an a desired one. In FFT some common effects are your earned JP never goes down, Unlimited Gil, and entry into debug modes. More ambitious codes allow you to have enemy units like Marquis Elmdor or the Lucavi on your team.

However, there are certain coding modifications that if used, can crash your system or ruin your saves with fatal flaws.

Happy to say i've never ran into any save deaths or fatal flaws when using gameshark. Gameshark themselves stated it was a vicious rumor, but considering you can alter the hex/dex memory functions of the system, if you screwed up a code on entry, you could do some level of harm.

I remember hacking this game to death. Greatly prolonged replay value for another year and a half. I re-recruited Algus just so I could kill him over and over and over and over.

Does anyone know how the JP never goes down cheat actually work? Like what is the exact code it uses. I just jailbroke my iphone and got tactics on it (sweet) and I want to change the code so the JP never goes down. It just makes the game go so much quicker, which is a concern when most of my play time is at work.
