We are having a hell of a time getting the internal modems to stop producing hardware failures. When we install NT or Win2000 it will allocate IRQ 9 to five different resources. Any help would be much appriciated. Dell can't help us...We tried.

you need to find out what type of motherboard the c800 has and contact the maker of that. Dell is the crappiest place ever for customer service so thats what you'll have to do if you want to get the problem resolved.

Dell has never been a customer service powerhouse and does not intend to do so. Sell the product and you are on your own. Fortunately, there is a ton of aftermarket stores on the internet and since they sell so many there are used parts galore. Forget Dell, do a system resource listing of your Laptop (use Nero to do this or Norton does one in the Checkit diagnostics) and get the parts.
