I have experimented another 67 times (yes, if I experiment, I do it a lot of times), doing different records using Polar, Penta, and Pura. Difference in time? Always less than a second. Same script, same path, same obstacles, same boost location, same boost power! So that justifies that the 3 ARE the same.

Well then if you boosted the same and did everything the same, then they would of course be less than a second or two. But that is because they are different...

Do it with Coco and then N. Gin, for instance. They have the same stats. Keep experimenting with them, and look at the time difference. Then do the same with Polar and Penta. They will be further apart than any other character, whatever you do...

^Thats it! i'll video prove it.

It is just the max speed and accelleration in question.

Also, you could set some kind of bridge point on where to immediately pause and check the time.

Try with Penta, and then Polar.

And then see the difference...



Just accelerate forward, see the speed, and then check how long it took them to reach that certain point, and then try it again and keep comparing.

If done correctly Penta will always have the lowest time.

I also said before that Polar is in fact my favourite character and was the only one i used before playing time trial. In the beginning i tried him in time trial and i quickly figured that N.tropy and dingodile was faster. Some time later even before meeting any of the real good players i saw that penta is faster than polar. And it is 100% viewable. As Thomas said slide coliseum is probably the easiest track to see it on. If there was no difference between them then there would be no difference for us when using them. I can get even times with both Tiny, dingo, tropy and papu because they're alike.
If i had my VCR atm i would make a vid of a perfect run with polar on slide coliseum (Without shortcuts) My time would most likely be in the 1:4x's while with penta i'll always get at least 1:39.
The only way you would be able to prove us being wrong would be by showing us a 1:19 time on crash cove made with one of those 2 characters as penta can get. Or showing a time with one of those 2 characters in the same second range as any of our WR's. You can also choose just to try and get close to the laps... You will never do it...
Also remember that we have Pro players from 5 different communities that have been connected at some point and already then everyone agreed that penta had the perfect max speed stat.
(CTRrecordholder is from Neoseeker, Thomas60 and me is from cyberscore, crashteamfaking is solo and have appeared later on when we had been connected with some other people, Gast is from his own website final fantasy network and he knows that penta is better as well even though his times aren't that good, ErManu85, SkanDu and Linkinsauron is from Spain and joined us later than crashteamfaking did, but had amazing times before hand and surprisingly enough they used the same characters as us too ( <_<, and finally our 3 legends; Arsène_lupin, Kang, and sayenjin who's found most of all the techniques, shortcuts and glitches that we're using also found this themselves. Do you really think that something like that would happen on a coincidence and also that some that have maxed the game so much would and have found all kind of glitches and bugs in it would make such a silly mistake in finding one of the slowest characters in the game as the fastest?*sigh again*

i ahevn't got Penta i always use Dingodile because some peopel say Penta is as slow a Polar and Pura and noone hadrly uses one of them

Yeah, alot of people says that, but the only thing they have in comment is their size wich is also the reason i assume lots of people thinks that since small drives usually is the slowest with higher acceleration in karting games.

Does it really matter if Penta is faster or the same as Polar and Pura?

Hell yeah!

Why?

Because Penta Penguin just owns.

Well yeah, but even if Penta isn't as fast as some people might like, You can still race as Penta and do other things as Penta. You just won't be as fast as you might like.

Oh well, his handling makes up for the lack of speed anyway.
