sorry to say it.....but its true. its a copy of super mario 64 for the nintendo 64. makes perfect sense because....
-nintendo and sony are rivals -sm64 came out in 1996 and s2rr came out in 1999 -they both have portals -spyro uses orbs while sm64 uses power stars -spyro collect gems like mario sm64 collects coins -the wing cap in sm64 is just like the wing power up gate in s2rr -they both have homeworlds with levels within them -and more even though im a fan of spyro ever scince 3rd or 4th grade (currently in 10th grade), i would have never thought of it.....but who gives a poop!!! i still like it!!! | |

Totally irrelevant lol! C where ur coming from, the realtions and all but Mario is a red-brace-wearing Italian Midget and Spyro is a purple, fire breathing dragon. Do the working out....

A lot of earlier platformers took from Super Mario. Super Mario set the template for platformers.

Just because they happen to be similar in a few ways doesn't mean they're copies of each other. Many games have similarities exactly like those; it's called a genre. -_-

There are endless games that have copied Super Mario 64. Spyro just happens to be one of them.

it is NOT a copy, insomniac came up with their own ideas! It jsut uses a similar platforming system to Mario, as do many games, they are not copies of each other! Otherwise their would be copyrighting issues lasting years!

I swear everyone who says Spyro is a copy of Super Mario 64 is an idiot. Nothing (except Crash Bandicoot) can even touch Spyro. You're all going to die in the cold depths of Winter Tundra, mwuhahahah!
