With FFXIII going multi-platform, and Sony + Square announcing a big 'FFVII Related' news, it can mean only one thing - a remake of FFVII is being made to calm down the PS3/Sony fans that have taken to the street since the announcement.

For all intent and purposes, it is the only thing that Sony can announce to lower the blow, and it's most likely what they'll be announcing tommorow. What do you guys think?

For me, this still wouldn't take the edge off the Final Fantasy XIII news.

Yeah, based on Square's recent offerings, I'd prefer an FFVII Remake to a new FF game.

Here's something that would break peoples bank account... "A Crisis Core + FFVII + Advent Children in one Remake on the PS3" Not that it's going to happen, but as I've said before, I'm 100% confident that it's the bombshell that Sony will reveal.

I dunno this has happened before hasn't it?? We were expecting some announcment at one of the game shows and it never came. Not gonna get excited until there's hard facts.

Sadly enough, I can see Squee effing up a FFVII remake alot more than a brand new FF game. It seems they've forgotten what made FFVII so charming in the first place.

If they just stick true to the game, Up the graphics, Keep the battle system and gameplay, and I mean keep it entirely, and maybe add a couple more optional bosses I think this could be a 'GoTY' especially with 'Trophy Support'

If they going to add some things then they need to put some meaning in some items.

The kind of attitude I have to it all since AC, is that no matter what happens, as in what ever they come out with next, they can never ruin the great fun i had in the first original game x3

The only thing that would be a treat for VII fans in regards to anything other than a graphical upgrade in a remake, would be additional optional bosses, sidequests and materia, so long as none of those new things involve anything outside of the original story-related material of the original game.

That's the scary thing, not even the people here can agree on one thing (as in how the final result should be), like some would like that, and some would like this.. ._.
So the whole thing is doomed really... Well, unless "you're" the type that don't expect it to BE the way you want it to be. XP

I chose to think that way, probably that's why i greatly enjoyed AC, and just enjoyed playing DC, (CC I haven't gotten to yet ID)

I don't know how people could be more afraid of SE messing up an established game via a remake than they are concerned over a lack of quality for future titles. =/

The thing about an established game is that it's just that; established. Even if they've been messing up lately, they aren't going to change any of the fundamental aspects of plot, setting, etc.
