does ultimate weapon keep the damage you give it every battle?

No, it regenerates for each time, least it sure feels like it XD
But luckily there is a limit on how many times it will let you fight it, as in he will be defeated eventually ^^;

I remember once I tried to keep a track of how much damage he took per round.
Just to say a rough number (this was before I had internet access, so I couldn't check anywhere XD; ), lets say 200 000, that after dealing that amount, he would fly off. And right after being dealt that damage each time, he would fly off until he would settle somewhere.

But when you mention that he would be ready to fight after 2 rounds, that sounds familiar as well, so perhaps it has to do something with which level you are?
Since you were "overleveled" when you only needed 2 rounds to take him.

so it might. Ok, How hard would it be to beat him in the last round with Cloud being my highest at Level 54?
I have KotR too, so are there any materia setups anyone can recomend? Tifa's the only one with A L4 Limit, but her and barret both have there Ultimate Weapon..Should I go into the nothern crater and get the materia there first?

Not that it helps you win, but you should probably give one character all of your enemy skill materia and try to deal the finishing blow with that character. Ultimate Weapon casts Shadow Flare just before it dies.

I'm at the bottom of the Nothern Cave, but now I don't know how to get back to the Highwind. Do I have to manually work my way back up, or is there an exit somewhere?

Yeah, just work yourself way up and I think when you're near the top, move to the left screen and there is something that looks like a ladder that will lead you up to where you can get up on the Highwind. if you're unsure, you can always hit select to make sure all the exits are marked up for you. x3

That's what we were talking about just now. =3
I thought there was a certain amount of times to it, but as Rockrman pointed out, he only used 2 times, so we're speculating that perhaps it depends on your level on how many times you need to fight it, the higher the level, the sooner it's wiling to stop and fight properly. x3

So I guess there is a limit, but it varies. ^^P

I didn't have to search. He first attacked Fort Condor and Corel, then he changed two times between Midgar and Northern Crater.

Oh yeah, he can really be annoying when the Highwind doesn't have it's upgrades and moving fairly slow
And not to mention when it gets more agressive in it's movements!

Don't ONLY give that last character the enemy skill materia. Cast Reflect on them too. Then you learn the skill and the WEAPON gets Shadow Flare in the face.

So, theres no known Limit to how many times you can fight him or if he keeps his damage..damn..

Well, I've gotten prepared. I faced Magicpots (they look more like pumpkins actually.) and got some levels. Cloud is now 65, Tifa is 64 and Barret is 63. I also found a tactic into the battle square and got Omnislash, so now Cloud has all his Limit Breaks. So, I'll just try to face Ultimate Weapon, see how much Damage I remove, then begins the frustrating chase I've heard so much about =P.
(and I also see wraith has a more questionable signature then last time :3)
