::::Antagonist::::
Name: Light Yagami ((Ishilar04)) A.K.A: Kira Age: 17 Side: Antagonist Occupation: Student (eventually, he becomes part of the task force that is hunting Kira.) Death Note: Yes - Shinigami that governs his book- Ryuk Appearance: Light Height~ 5'9 Weight~ 119 pounds At the start, his appearance is innocent and that of a normal high school senior. However, as his mind becomes twisted, his features can take on a very cruel and sadistic appearance. He is usually very well dressed and groomed.
Personality: Light is a very serious character. Like a majority of his foes, Light has a very high I.Q. and an amazing ability to think things through. He rarely acts rashly, and he has a knack for seeing through people. The truth is, Light barely shows his true emotions to anyone and masks himself very well. As for friends, he doesn’t really have any. Whenever he gets close to someone it is so that he can use them later. He and Ryuk really are suited for each other, as they were both very bored with their worlds. As Kira, he attempts to rule it by purging the world of evil and creating a place for only pure-hearted people. He is a very ambitious person, with a large amount of pride and self-worth. This is shown when He turns down the shinigami-eyes, because they would shorten his life span by half. He feels that as the world's new God, he needs to live for as long as possible-- Even if the inability to see a persons name will come back as a hindrance later.
While he believes in absolute justice, Light fails to see things from other perspectives. To Him, There is a strict guide-line for right and wrong--Therefore, anyone who opposes his belief is also wrong and "a bad person". Light is incapable of seeing the shades of gray in the world, and only sees things as black and white. Although, some of the things he does end up being hypocritical, Light is devoid of a conscious, so he is unaffected by moral dilemma.
It is believed that his insanity is a result of The Death Note’s influence, but one cannot be sure of this truth. While he did suffer with the fact that he had killed people in the beginning, he quickly drowned those feelings with the thought of “Becoming God.”
Biography:
Light finds the Death Note outside of his school. Soon after, he takes it home and reads it; initially not believing a word that is written. One day, when his curiosity got the better of him, he tries it out for fun. Amazingly enough, The Notebooks power is proved to be very real. From that day on, Light has sought to cleanse the world of evil, and rule over an almost perfect world-- or at least a world where Kira is God.
We follow his struggle to rise to the top, striking down all who oppose him.
Weapon: The Death Note
Quirks:
~Light, while appearing to be the ultimate form of a human psyche, is actually very childish and immature. He has an insatiable desire to win, and will stop at nothing to get his way. ~Despite his composed nature, like any male, he sometimes attempts to resolve things with his fist. ~Light doesn’t seem to care about what others think of him, so long as he throws off any suspicion.
Talents: ~Deductive reasoning ~ Acting ~Counter intelligence ~ Planning ~Thinking on his feet.
~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~
Name: Misa Amane Age: 20 Gender: Female Side: Antagonist (Or rather, whatever side Light is on.) Occupation: Model Death Note: Yes Shinigami eyes- Yes. The shinigami that governs her book- Rem Appearance: Misa
Unusual appearance for a Japanese woman. Misa has blonde hair, and interchanging eyes between blue and amber. (It’s presumed she wears colored contacts.) She’s a small, bubbly girl, that seems to enjoy donning “Gothic Lolita” clothing.
Personality: While she seems innocent and sweet, Misa still suffers severe emotional instability in the fact that she will do anything for Light, and cannot live in a world without him. She is a very upbeat and love-obsessed girl, to the point of annoying those around her. (Ironically, the one who’s most annoyed is always Light.) Despite the fact that she comes off as a ditz who will do anything and everything for Light, she has shown a fair amount of intelligence in certain situations. She is strong willed, and tries to remain positive no matter what.
Her insanity is the fact that she doesn’t mind killing, and will always do it for Light’s sake-- Even if it means murdering her “friends.”
Biography:
When Misa was younger, Her Family was brutally murdered before her very eyes. During the trial, The culprit was deemed innocent due to lack of evidence. However, the Criminal was then punished by Kira. This Caused Misa to develop a fanatical obsession for Him, and she wanted to thank him no matter what. Eventually, Her drastic actions did lead her to discover that Light Yagami was in fact Kira.
Weapon: Death Note
Quirks: ~Despite her happy and bright personality, She often wears dark and gothic clothing ~ She believes in love at first sight, even under questionable circumstances. ~She can’t bear the thought of Light being with other women, and has threatened to kill any girl that gets close to Light.
Talents: Acting Modeling

:::Protagonists:::
Name: L Lawliet ((Lei14)) Alias: Ryuuzaki~ This is what everyone refers to him as. Hideki Ryuuga~ An alias L took in order to attend Light’s College. Strangely enough, this name is stolen from a popular and handsome actor-- Someone that would never be associated with L. A.K.A: Erald Coil and Danuve~ The two other top detectives of the world. It is revealed that L is actually the both of them, showing that he has taken the spot of the top 3 detectives by himself. Each persona of his has different personality traits, though. (Ex. While L only investigates what interests him, his persona of Coil charges mass amounts of money to solve a case. Those cases don't usually interest L, so he doesn't volunteer his assistance.) Age: 24 Side: Protagonist (However, just barely. L has his own brand of justice, and will use any means necessary to enforce it. ) Occupation: Detective (Only takes jobs that interest him.)
Appearance: L Lawliet L **Just an example of just how deep his obsession with sweets is.**
L is the same height as Light, (however, because he slouches, he often looks shorter than Light.) L is revealed to be severely underweight for someone his age, even though he constantly snacks on sweets.
Disheveled and messy-- L does not fit the appearance of a “Great detective”. He wears relaxed clothing, and rarely wears shoes. His hair seems as though he never combs it, and the permanent bags under his eyes give us the impression that he hardly ever sleeps. (It was commented that he was once seen sleeping in a chair, bent over in his usual sitting position.)
L is almost always hunched over, rarely standing at his full height, and sits in a bizarre fashion. (Legs pulled to his chest and in a crouching position.) He will sit like this, even when in a chair or in public.
Personality: L is a “weird” character. He is a genius of course, who knows how to do a variety of things. His personality is supposed to counter Light Yagami, the genius pretty boy, as L is a genius freak. L likes to play around a lot, and is very blunt. He loves sweets (especially cakes), and insists that if he does not sit the way he does, his reasoning will drop by 40%. (whether this is true, or just an excuse to justify his habits that he fabricated, has never been proven.) L seems to be sort of a loner, and trusts no one (except for Watari of course). L is also a very animated character, and his expressions are clearly visible, unless he decides not to show them. He doesn’t hide his true self behind a mask,(He only hides himself from the general public, if there's a difference.) a character trait that is once again, a complete opposite of Lights. He is actually very courageous, as he even shows his face and steps outside to confront Kira-- Even though it endangers his own life.
L is aware of his “flaws”-- As he has stated himself, he has an almost child-like trait of hating to lose in even the most trivial cases. This is what allows him to delve further into the case, though, as he realizes Kira shares this childlike immaturity. He is extremely suspicious of things and the people around him, and in order to ascertain the truth for himself, he uses various means to uncover the truth. Because of this, there are many times in which other people misunderstand him. People might find his methods unorthodox and cruel, while L believes he is just doing whatever it takes to solve a case.
He constantly speaks his mind, and one can believe that L is L inside and out. He is blunt, never to decorate his words, unless for some good reason (testing people etc.). He is what many people should be; a total mirror image of his inside. He doesn’t seem to mind his weird tendencies, and although he does have emotions, he never lets those feelings get the best of him. L has very little pride (Even though he does hate losing. If he feels that he needs to apologize, he will.) and he does not have that emotional insecurity that can cloud a persons judgment. While Light Yagami, although using his brain, lets his emotions and pride to get away from himself.
Biography:
He is one of the top detectives of the world, but because he has never appeared in public, his real identity has been shrouded in mystery. With the Kira case, for the first time in history, he steps out into the open. But the result of that is...
Weapon: His… Brain?
Quirks: ~~ L is a considerably picky eater. He is never shown eating an actual meal, and prefers to eat any and every type of sweet/fruit-- Especially Cake. His beverages are either Coffee or Black Tea, in which he usually adds a mass amount of sugar cubes. ~ L dislikes socks, and never wears them. Not even when he’s wearing shoes. ~It seems like he needs to replenish his sugar level in order for his mind to work. For him to be able to remain in good shape even after eating so many sweets is one of his abilities. He claims that his brain burns more calories than any other organ. ~Despite being reclusive, L has shown that he’s very talented at Tennis. ~L, despite his plain albeit strange appearance, Seems to posses mass amounts of money. However, when questioned about this, he never gives a direct answer and/or dodges the question. ~L tends to hold objects very delicately, as though he's examining them very carefully. (This is probably a force of habit in his line of work, since he's not supposed to damage evidence.)
Talents: ~Deductive reasoning ~Intel work ~Criminal analysis ~Noticing the unnoticeable ~Pick-pocketing (( >_>; )) ~For some reason, he has the South American martial arts of Capoeira mastered. He shows us this in a number of fights he gets himself into with Light.
((Extra)) L’s Stomach
~~~ “L’s right hand man--“ ~~~ Name: Watari Age: Presumed to be in his 50’s ~~Watari has been with L since childhood, and is the only one L trusts completely. He often speaks for L, showing up in public in his stead. Watari is often seen bringing L a constant supply of sweets, as well. He is thought to be an excellent marksman, and has proven this fact on various occasions. Watari often conceals his identity from the world, but that doesn’t stop him from venturing outside in L’s place.
::::Protagonist:::: Leader ~ Lei14
Name: Ayano Tokunaga ((Lei14)) Alias : Yukiko Sakurai (rarely used, since she doesn’t have to worry about dying if someone writes down her current name) Real name: Hikari Endo Age: 16 ((apparently she skipped a grade of school, as she is a senior in Light’s class)) Side: Protagonist Occupation: Student, waitress, volunteer. Death note: No. (However, Ayano seems to have a stronger “sixth sense” than others-- To the point where she can feel the presence of a shinigami, but not to the point of where she can hear/see them.) Appearance: *Picture Coming Soon* Even though she’s of a Japanese background, her appearance is unusual in the fact that she has Blue Eyes. (She believes her biological father must be foreign) She’s 5’1, and seems a bit touchy about the fact that she’s not growing any taller. Aya claims that her long hair is the only thing that’s feminine about her, and warns others not to underestimate her because of her appearance. Aya wears baggy clothes, and doesn’t show any interest in being “cute”--She may just be shy about showing her girlish side, but in light of her personality, it’s unlikely.
Personality: In her daily life, Ayano is a quite, reserved, and polite student. She doesn’t express her opinions freely, and comes off as a meek girl to the general public. This is revealed to be a façade, as in reality, she is quite brilliant-- even though she claims that “Just Knowing facts isn’t the same as being intelligent.” She possesses a keen insight, and is able to identify the true characters of the people who surround her. Even so, she exhibits the naivety of youth, in that she wants to be able to trust others very much.
Surprisingly, Ayano has a very hot temper. She is usually able to put a damper on her anger before things get out of hand, but on the occasion she will let her emotions get the best of her. This emotional weakness tends to embarrass her, and she becomes flustered by her own actions--This shows that one of Ayano’s biggest flaws is her impulsiveness. Though She claims that sometimes, there are tasks that only a reckless idiot can accomplish. Due to an incident in her past, She is somewhat androphobic ((Though, she’s more violent towards men than she is afraid.)) Her phobia does not prevent her from talking with men, but rather, she becomes extremely nervous if they are to stand too close to her. Invading her space is a rather foolish action, as it sometimes results in a fierce outburst.
Some would say Aya is more wise than intelligent, since she is well aware that there are many forms of right and wrong. She believes that no one has the right to label the world as black and white, as one man’s sin is another man’s virtue. Her wisdom often leads her to realize the truth before others, even if she herself does not realize this. ((she often has hunches, that unfortunately end up coming true.))
Her Mottos are~
“Never trust your eyes--They can either be your most sincere ally, or the biggest liar you know.”
“Never fail to question the world around you.”
And
“Never underestimate the power of a hormonally imbalanced woman.”
Ayano does her best to be kind and empathetic towards others, but she often falls short of understanding them fully. (Even if she tries to start a conversation, it usually ends up in an uncomfortable silence.) All of this put together makes Ayano a socially-awkward person, so she doesn’t have many friends. That added with her tendency to make odd statements/connections, and her subtle signs of autism, make Ayano a rather unusual character.
Biography:
A Classmate of Light Yagami’s-- It’s presumed that they’ve known each other for quite some time, and that they were in the same class during middle school. (Though, they’ve never really gotten past the stage of “Mere acquaintances” ) When she was a child, she was abused by her step father. Her Real father’s identity remains unknown, as her abandoned Aya’s mother during pregnancy. After Aya’s Mother found out what was going on, she left her husband and took Aya with her to Tokyo. Back then, she was still “Hikari Endo”, but had to change her name as a precaution, should “that man” ever decide to try and find them. ((So to anyone who doesn’t know her from beforehand, they believe her name is really “Ayano”)) In Tokyo, Her Mother struggled to support the both of them, leaving Aya with a guilt that still haunts her to this day. While it was hard to get by, Aya was still happy to be able to live her life without the fear of being harmed.
However, it wasn’t long before another tragedy had taken hold of Aya’s life.
This left Ayano alone in the world, and questioning “What had she done to make God angry with her?”--At thirteen, she was adopted by a kindly police officer (Akio Tokunaga) at the age of 13. He had felt sympathy for the girl, and even though he had yet to start a family of his own, he still decided to accept her. She refers to him as “konomashii-Father” ((Which basically means nice, acceptable father)) as opposed to “Step-Father”. She does her best to be a “Good Daughter” for him, and takes care of the cooking and cleaning of their apartment. Recently, He was transferred to a police-station in Okinawa, but Ayano stayed behind so she could finish school. (So currently, she lives alone) In order to make things easier for him, she has a part time job, despite her already stressful schedule. She brushes it off, saying that if she doesn’t keep busy, she’d go out of her mind.
Because her Father is a policeman, she greatly admires and respects the police force. Aya, like Light, has helped the police force out with a few cases before. Though her level of her inductive reasoning isn’t on level with Light’s-- so she often resigns herself to filing papers or drafting documents. ((Still, this indirectly gives her access to information that the public does not receive.))
She is also planning to attend a college in Tokyo, as opposed to Okinawa. (Though, she hasn’t given it any other thought since then. So she’s yet to pick a school in which she will attend. )
Quirks: ~Despite being intelligent, she doesn’t apply herself in school. (Though, others dislike her for the fact that she makes good grades without even trying) ~ While she has excellent eye hand coordination, the same does not apply to her legs. ((In short, she can trip over anything and everything…. Even if there was nothing in her walking path.)) ~Ayano has poor circulation, so she gets cold easily. It is for this reason that she abhors any form of cold weather and/or Chilled foods. ~If Ayano is displeased by an action, she will normally say “Ah, so you’re THAT kind of guy…. “ And this is usually followed by an insult or a heated glare. ~If she is interested in a subject or a turn of events, she will label it as “Bizarre” ~Even though she’s supposed to be a modern teenager, Aya is at a loss when it comes to technology. She doesn’t have a cell phone or a home computer, but she manages to stay “Up-to-date” via the television and newspapers. ~She’s upset that she has more flaws than good things about her.
Talents: ~Photographic Memory ~ Deciphering Code ~Cooking ~ Poetry ((She’s actually a well-known poet, under the name of ‘Hikari E’))
((Extra)) Ayano’s ever-changing list of things that make her angry: ~Perverts ~Men in general ~People who believe in “Love at first sight” (Misa) ~People who choose to be ignorant. ~Being teased (even if it’s playful teasing) ~Telemarketers ~Men in hats ~Minoru Akaike
Name: Kage Akamatsou ((Zero_is_just_cool)) Real Name: Oliver Hitoshi Possible Alias: Gerry Zabazou / The Warlock Age: 17 Side: Protagonist Occupation: Student, Tutor, “Detective trainee” Race: Human Death Note: No.
Appearance: Has messy brownish blond hair, apparently only because of recessive genes. Other than that has clear Nipponese ancestry. He stands 178 centimeters high and has medium build with toned muscles. He likes to wear his own style, be it casual or black tie. Mostly wears black clothes under red or wine colored ones (and sometimes jeans, too).
Personality: Kage has a Zen attitude and polite behavior. While he is very friendly and sometimes talkative Kage is very respectful and reserved about certain matters such as personal life, his and others'. His eccentric way and clothes can make him stand out on a crowd, especially if you are not looking for him. He is very intelligent, and would probably have one of the highest I.Q. ratings in the country (among students) if he agreed on taking the test. In situations of excitement, his behavior changes quite drastically. He becomes fairly aggressive and quick to act. Still, that does not mean at all he will act purely on impulse and every move will still be carefully measured.
Kage thinks things through and keeps himself ahead of everybody else all the time, but prefers not to plan too ahead of himself. He bases such preference in his own unpredictability, as "no matter how perfect a play can be, sometimes the winds will blow the pieces". The less turns it takes, the likely to have a piece blown by the wind. He also works constantly with the idea of “cause/consequence” and will always take his time evaluating the outcome of a certain action. When is time to act, however, he is fast and does not hesitate. His actions are carefully planned, but always have instant effect.
He is emotionally strong and is very unlikely to lose his mind or act foolishly. Kage can't be at all bothered by any kind of behavior and is never upset or angry. He claims that the only time someone ever got the best of him was in the age of 11.
Kage is very intuitive and skillful, but has problems identifying other people's thoughts and emotions without analyzing them logically. While it might not seem like it, he lets his emotions interfere in his judgment more then he would wish to. As such he might exaggerate when attempting to counter that flaw.
Kage is aware that there is no definitive view of what is wrong or what is right but has pretty solid ideals and beliefs. That said, he may not always act according to the law, if the situation needs such actions.
Biography: Attends to the same school as Light (although they never managed to have an acquaintance).
Born Oliver Hitoshi (name given by his father, Take Hitoshi, who passed away) was renamed after his grandfather. His mother, Kaede Akamatsou, then moved to Yokohama to start life anew. Kage maintained a good performance in school, being an well-educated and very polite kid, although he would often sleep during classes and seldom studied at home. At the age of 11, his teacher managed to make the entire classroom mock him about how he never paid attention to classes and always seemed to be lost in his thoughts. In response he spoke for about 5 minutes, without using bad language at all. As a result, three kids left the school, the teacher was fired, the school sued, and he was invited to leave the school by the principal. It was the only time he ever lost it and did something without evaluating the consequences.
After a little while Kage decided to move to Tokyo and live with his cousin Heero to finish his studies. Heero is a detective workaholic, so Kage had to handle things pretty much on his own since then. Kage has shown interest in his cousin’s line of work and has become somewhat a trainee, sometimes to the point of accompanying him to meetings at the police station. Kage refuses, however, to help in any police case, claiming both that he would be of no help and that his cousin does not need his help (basically he sticks around and observes). Heero, however, has acknowledged several times that Kage will make an excellent detective, and is constantly trying to get him more involved actively with his work.
Kage also tutors a couple of kids two days every week.
Quirks: -His body reacts negatively to caffeine (He cannot drink coffee or soft drinks). Ingesting caffeine to a small degree makes him hyperactive. Larger amounts of it will result in something similar to severe Panic Attacks. -Owns about thirty wine-colored blazers, and is always wearing one, even during his sleep. -Has two phone numbers. One which he keeps off all the time due the ridiculous amount of people who calls him, and only uses to make calls. The other number he only gives to people who he actually wishes to get calls from and always makes sure the person knows that number is not to be given without his knowledge. -Considers himself “clearly unpredictable”, and will proudly prove it to anyone curious about it, give time. -Likes to play pranks on the telephone, claiming to be “The Warlock”. -Has a videogame addiction. -Sometimes plays dating simulators, but does it with complete and absolute secrecy.
Talents: Negotiation Counter Intelligence High Perception Cleaning Many Great Contacts
Name: William Edward Griffiths ((Tiger of Wu)) Alias: He has many, his most common are Charles Smith, Jeremy Peterstone and Liam Jones. His codename for police operations is Weg. Age: 28 Side: Protagonist Occupation: Traveller Race: Human Death Note: No, No and No Appearance: Weg is half English and half Indian, giving him a light brown skin colour. He usually wears any form of hat on his head, covering a scar which he received when he was ten years old. The hat he wears depends on the rest of his clothes, but can be anything from a Cap to a Trilby. He usually dresses smart/casual (That mostly consisting of dark jeans and some form of shirt). He is 6'3, has an average body build and short but clean stubble.
Personality: Weg is usually very quiet unless if he has something important to say. He is a very deep and philosophical person but never speaks about it unless asked. He always keeps his emotions held down and is always calm, in control at all times. Weg can unintentionally sometimes act as though he is better than others, which makes some people dislike him, but he doesn't care. He always thinks before acting, is very independent and even when working with a team he may do things alone if he thinks necessary. Some would say he is cynical, he just says that he can see the world for what it is. When alone he likes to listen to classical music and he carries with him several doses of a designer government drug, which he stole the recipe for, which is like caffeine but it isn't addictive.
Biography: When Willian Edward Griffiths was ten years old he was happy, loving, intelligent and very mature for his age. He would always be able to put a smile on the face of anyone who was said and loved to help people. He lived with his parents, his father an English lawyer and his mother an Indian house wife... until one night he heard loud screams as he tried to sleep. He crept downstairs to see what was going on and saw his parents sitting in their living room, sitting in a puddle of their own blood. A man was standing in front of them, his back to William, holding a knife. Both he and the weapon were covered in blood. Two Indian swords were mounted on a plaque nearby, a gift to the family from his mothers uncle, supposedly to bring good luck. The swords were for decorative and ceremonial purposes, so they weren't very sharp, but could still do some damage. William grabbed one of the swords and charged at the man. Hearing this the murderer turned around and received a sword through his chest. He tried to get William slashing the blade wildly and caught him on the head before falling over, dead. The cut wasn't deep enough to do any major damage, but deep enough to leave a lifetime scar. He grabbed the knife and hid it away, thinking that if the police saw two weapons they would be suspicious of him. After the police had came they took William to the station. Luckily for William a man who worked for the FBI came and took him away. Later William would learn this man didn't work for the FBI... he worked for a man named Watari. After gathering up some of his stuff (including the knife he had hidden) he was taken to Wammy's house, an orphanage for the gifted, and met Watari. He was told that the killer of his parents was an angered Yakuza member, probably taking revenge after Williams father successfully got one of the head Yakuza sent to prison. William was told that the best way for him to exact revenge was to become a detective and make sure all the 'bad guys' would be sent to prison. Watari offered to help train William as an investigator and William accepted. Taking the codename J he worked and trained along with another gifted orphan of the codename K. Unfortunately William was too hotheaded and impulsive to become a great detective and when he was seventeen had a big argument with Watari because K was chosen to help with a case about a serial murderer while he was left to study. After making up with Watari, William understood he wasn't good enough to be a detective for Watari and left Wammy's house, leaving it's future in the hands of three promising children, L, Mello and Near. William started using different names in the hope that he wouldn't be tracked by Watari or the Yakuza. For seven years of his life Watari kept William safe but now he was on his own and needed to be cautious. He travelled the world in search of wisdom, learning many different things from many different people. Over the course of ten years his personality changed drastically. Instead of being rash and impulsive he was cool and calm. Unfortunately when he spoke to Watari about going back to Wammy's house he was turned down because they wished to focus all of their attention on L, Mello and Near. At that moment William knew that when he left Wammy's house he left the title of J with it. He still kept in contact with Watari but not as often as he might have hoped. He still understood why this was and didn't blame him. William now travels the world searching for enlightenment and trying his hardest to help put any bad person behind bars. He has aided in a few different police cases under the name of Weg.
Weapon: Weg carries the knife which was used to kill his parents with him at all times. It has rubber around the handle and a golden pattern of a dragon along the blade. While spending a year in china Weg had an interest in martial arts and even though he didn't train in hand to hand combat he learnt how to use knives efficiently. He may not be a master with his knife, but knows how to handle it.
Quirks:
- He often enjoys lying down outdoors while it is raining claiming it makes him happy and makes it easier to think about things clearly.
- He tends to refer to people by nicknames he gives them based on things that stand out about them rather than there actual names (e.g. If he were to meet Aizawa (First season Anime version) he would call him Afro)
- The hat he wears to cover his scar usually depends on the mood he is in (I won't tell you which is which, you can figure it out.)
Talents:
- Very good actor
- Can think fast to get out of bad situations
- He is good at parkour (free running)
- Even though he is not on the same level as L, compared to the average person Weg would be considered a genius.
Extra: To hide what his caffeine like drug really is he tells people he is diabetic and it is insulin.
After becoming a detective when he was 20, he retired after failing to solve a case that was quite attatched to him in some way. Still, with enough experience to become a detective, he might be remembered and called upon one day. Thats what he wishes.
Name: Leon Mancini ((Rust))
Alias: Kerberos (used for very mistrusted people), Carlos Mathogo (Has been used most), he also has a tendency to make up alias’ on the fly
Age: 57
Side: Protagonist
Occupation: Freelance Detective
Race: Human
Death Note: No, no, no
Appearance: Leon is confined to a wheelchair. If he wasn't, he would stand at 5 foot 10 feet tall. Although his lower body has been left for dead, so to speak, his upper body makes up for it with strong muscles. His hair is a salt and pepper color, more salt than pepper due to the tremendous stress he had piled on him over the years. His eyes are a stunning blue color that shows no emotion. In fact, his face doesn't show any emotion as he seems to be emotionless.
Personality: Leon seems to have no personality at all, but that's just a facade. When someone really gets to know him, he starts to open up, if only slightly. There's hardly any differences to his friendly side and his professional side. Although he has been known to crack a joke or two on occasion, he is mostly serious.
Biography: Most of Leon's past has been destroyed in terms of records, on Leon's request, but he remembers much of his life without problems. Ever since he was out of high school, he had been part of the police. Through the years, he started going higher and higher through the ranks due to his high dependability, will to act, and intelligence. One day, his last day of patrol before getting an office job, he witnessed a woman about to be raped. Doing what every good cop would, he radioed in for back-up and attempted to stop the rapist. The woman escaped, but in a short gunfight between the two, the rapist was shot dead and Leon was shot in both legs.
It was later learned that the shots had hit nerves vital for his legs to work and that he would be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Although this would deter any other cop, Leon persisted. He became a private detective, but that soon bored him. He started tackling bigger and bigger cases as an adviser until it became evident that he held a place in intellect close to that of Deneuve, the world's 3rd best detective. From then on out, Leon started working on cases that interested him, rather than was demanded of him. He found that it was much easier to do things this way as he had time to relax and release stress.
Nearly all of Leon's immediate family (Wife, son and daughter, younger sister and brother-in-law) were killed in cold blood. The shock of this happening all at once, and after a particularly stressing case, left the detective with no voice. He became mute from that day on. His sister's son, however, survived due to being at a friend's house that night. Leon now takes care of his nephew as if he were taking care of his long lost son.
Weapon: None
Quirks: ~Doesn't talk. It's hard to tell whether this is because he is mute or just doesn't want to ~Is always chewing on a toothpick. The toothpicks are also the loophole behind Leon's seemingly emotionless states. Depending on how fast he goes from one toothpick to another is how some can figure out what type of mood he's in. ~Always has at least 4 rubber bands, two on each wrist. When it comes to where he needs to think extensively, he ends up toying with a rubber band.
Talents: ~Deductive reasoning ~Inductive reasoning ~Quick thinker ~Hardly lets emotions come into the picture
Extra: Leon's wheelchair looks almost like a typical wheelchair. Totally black, big back wheels for him to push himself and foot rests so he's not dragging his useless legs on the floor. The oddest thing about the wheelchair is that, under the seat and between the wheels, is a black box. Inside this black box is a small oven powered by a large battery. Near one of the arm rests is a small tube that leads straight into the fire that Leon uses to drop toothpicks, broken rubber bands, and notes down to burn. Due to the heat, there is usually a pocket of warm air around the wheelchair. On the arm rest is a small keyboard; with this keyboard he types out everything he needs to say.
Name: Rusty Ravelli ((Rust))
Alias: Orthrus (When around a very mistrusted person), Harvey McPherson (has been used most), he also has a tendency to make up alias’ on the fly
Age: 19
Side: Protagonist
Occupation: Detective Leon’s ward
Race: Human
Death Note: No, no, no
Appearance: Rusty is a handsome young man who stands nearly 6 feet tall. His hair is a deep orange-red color and a bit on the long side, but is always messy. Just like Leon, he has stunning blue eyes that seem to attract many women. His body is also rather filed out, both upper and lower torsos. In his ear, he wears a hardly noticeable earpiece that blends in with his skin.
Personality: Most of the time Rusty is light hearted and honest, but in times of need he’s composed and serious. Unlike most of the people his age, he knows when to switch between the two when necessary. He also tends to be highly charismatic, a stark opposite of the man he cares for.
Biography: Rusty was a star in high school. Head of the track team and #1 in each class and in high school overall. Life seemed to be going quite well for the optimistic young man. He lived a fairly decent life and was accepted into all the top schools in America. Unfortunately, his life soon took a turn for the worst. His parents were soon murdered, leaving without a home to return to. His uncle, Leon Mancini, took him in as the boy slowly became more and more reclusive to the world around him.
Leon, knowing of Rusty’s intellect, offered him a job helping to catch criminals. Rusty accepted in hopes of finding his family’s killer one day. Ever since, he’s been traveling with Leon and has regained his old composure of optimism and enthusiasm. Due to the unusually short periods of time that it takes Leon to catch these criminals, not much time has passed between graduation and the present.
Weapon: A Colt .45 for use in life threatening situations only
Quirks: ~Has an odd combination of ADHD and OCD that makes him interesting to watch when he starts contradicting himself. ~Tends to be fascinated by fire ~Always seems to be listening to some form of music. What he listens to changes on a daily basis ~Has a weakness for women, but not to the point where it would threaten his job, himself, or Leon
Talents: ~Great people skills ~Quick thinker ~Amazing mind ~One hell of a video game player
Extra: In one ear, Rusty has an earpiece; in the other, he has an iPod. While the second one isn’t important, the first is. The earpiece is hooked up by a secure radio line to Leon’s keyboard. While Leon types, the programming sends a signal to the earpiece which then starts saying the words that are being typed. It helps to keep conversations quiet as well as quick and efficient.
Name: Nikkala “Nikki” Harding ((Eternal_Dreams)) Alias: Misaki Inoue Age: 16 Side: Antagonist Occupation: Student/babysitter. Race: Human Death Note: Yes Shinigami eyes: No, but is considering it. Shinigami: Umoh. Appearance: Misaki stands at around 5’2, and has short, messy black hair and soft dark brown eyes. Misaki values comfort and practicability far more than fashion, and loathes wearing high heels and make-up. However, she will sometimes wear them when going out, or for special occasions. Whilst in school, Misaki’s outfit is similar to the one she was accustomed to wearing in English schools; plain black trousers and a white blouse, with a pair of short black leather boots. When outside of school, she usually dresses in a simple T-shirt and jeans, with a pair of white trainers.
Personality: Misaki is a polite and friendly young woman, and can be quite chatty. However, despite giving the initial impression of being lighthearted and naïve, Misaki is actually quite serious and thoughtful. She very rarely shows her true feelings, and to those that notice this it can make her seem “false.” She has a strong sense of justice, and is both saddened and angered by the state of the world at present. She agrees with Kira’s ideals but often has doubts, and she feels a great deal of guilt over the killings she has committed herself.
Biography: Misaki was born in England under the name Nikkala Harding, to a Spanish mother and an English father. She was raised in England, though she visited her family in Spain frequently. She lived a normal and happy life through most of her childhood, up until she was fourteen years old. Two months after her fourteenth birthday, her mother was killed in a bad car accident, leaving her father to look after her and her older sister, Carla. Her father was overcome with grief, however, and became increasingly distant from his two daughters. Less than six months later, he was found dead at their home, having died after taking an overdose of anti-depressants. A note was left for each of the two girls, Carla’s simply telling her to look after Nikki, as she was the oldest of the two at 18 years old. Nikki’s, however, was a lot more unusual. It told her of a terrible burden her father had had to bear, a notebook that brought death and unhappiness to many, and was believed by him to have led to the ultimate death of his wife. A book that he, regretfully, was now forced to entrust to his youngest daughter. At the bottom of this note was a simple farewell, and a puzzling message: “Umoh will explain everything.”
Surprisingly to both her and the Shinigami, she was able to overcome the shock of the notebook’s discovery quickly, though her parents’ death was a wound that would take much longer to heal. Yet she feared the notebook’s power, and hid it away in a box of things that she knew would remain long-forgotten, even through the move to Japan the year after her parents’ death to enable her sister to continue her studies.
Umoh, however, was not so easy to hide or lose, and even the change of names and addresses that accompanied the move could not rid the newly-named Misaki of the Shingami.
And so eventually, through lack of an alternative she began to accept the Death God’s existence, even befriending him after time. But the notebook remained hidden away, until Kira’s appearance. When Misaki saw the news of Kira, she realised immediately that a Death Note was the cause of the killings. She also felt happy that he was working for such a cause, and regretted not thinking of using her own Death Note for that purpose. Yet she has since vowed to help out “Kira” as much as she can, and to find him if possible. She hopes, more than anything else, that Kira’s purpose can be fulfilled without him being caught, and she will put everything she has into helping to ensure that this happens.
Weapon: Death Note. Quirks: - She’s a very picky eater, but loves most kinds of sweet foods. Consequently, she will often eat very little substantial food, but instead will consume large amounts of sweets and cakes. However, she does not gain weight easily. - Misaki finds that she is able to talk to young children a lot more freely than adults. She believes that this may be because children are less judgemental, but more “pure” than adults and teenagers. However, it could also simply be because they are less likely to fully understand what she is saying. Talents: - Fluent in Spanish, English and Japanese, and knows small amounts of French and German. - “Silver Tongued”: Misaki doesn’t know if she can be described as a good liar/actor, but she has a certain talent in being able to talk her way out of trouble. - Good with children.
Extra: Misaki’s older sister Carla/Imari is a University student, and when she is not studying she is usually with friends. This means that Misaki and Umoh very often have the house to themselves.
Name: Mohinder Gupta ((Lord Venace)) Alias: Venace Kupo Real name: Sitaram Kishenchand Venkatanarasimharajuvaripeta Vajpayee Lal Age: 61 Side: Antagonist Occupation: Pet breeder/trainer, animal smuggler Death note: Yes. Shinigami eyes: None Shinigami: Yum
Appearance: Standing at 4’11 and weighing slightly more than a 100 pounds, Mohinder is a withered dwarf of a man whose build bears more semblance to a skeleton rather than a human. He is a full-blooded indian, giving him ebony skin. Age has reduced his hair to nothing more than a white rim around his hair. He usually wears a blue or black shirt underneath a white blazer with matching trousers.
Personality: Mohinder is cheery and highly amicable, a classic example of the approachable grandfather figure. However, his veneer of friendliness is nothing more than a facade; a shallow, emotionless pretense that masks a personality immersed in analytical, sanguinary intelligence.
Incomprehensibly twisted and much learned in philosophy, Mohinder believes that ideals and opinions are worthless; as they are nothing more than another facet of humanity's great lie. He believes that justice is nothing more than a ludicrous fantasy spawned from the delusions of civilization. The notion of justice is but a governing authority's enforcement their definition of right and wrong. Morality is meaningless and hampers the machinations of logic.
Evil, to him, is a driving force of the greatness. When coupled with a firm intellect, it allows one to kill, maim, rob, torment and manipulate without even a flicker of crippling remorse. It breeds corruption, engenders greed and cultivates the essence of survival. Innocence is interchangeable with ignorance, if not non-existent, and conscience is a self-inflicted burden by fools.
Despite his views, Mohinder has a great love for animals. His one, true passion lies in his pets, and he is only sincere in his regard. Nevertheless, that doesn't stop him from occasionally killing one or two for the fun of it.
Quirks: ~ Mohinder does not have a cellphone or internet. ~ Mohinder is obsessed with zoo tycoon, and he derives pleasure in feeding his zoo guests to the saltwater crocodiles. Ever since the dinosaur and marine expansion set, he has changed his executioners of the 'unworthy pixel-challenged scum' to the T-rex and great white shark. ~ Mohinder is an author of two philosophy books 'Devil's heart' and 'The Satan effect' under the alias of 'V Kupo'. neither have yet to become a New York Times Best seller. ~ Mohinder has more than 25 breeds of shrimp in his pet collection. ~ Unlike Kira, Mohinder targets the unproductive, the mentally inhibited and the dregs of society, as well as those who actively threatens nature. He also targets certain races more than others.
Talents: ~ Animal handling, care, training and breeding ~ Fluent in Indian, Japanese, English, Chinese and a variety of Chinese dialects. He also knows the American Sigh language. ~ High perception ~ Excellent acting skills ~ Great understanding of psychology
Name: Kyllikki Paju ((Aulis Vaara)) Alias: Yasu Tsukino, Yuki Kurosawa (she is mostly known by this name) Age: 19 Side: Antagonist Occupation: Student (she'll be starting at uni once the new school year starts, currently not doing anything at all) Race: Human Death Note: Yes Shinigami Eyes: Yes Shinigami: Noa
Appearance: Originally a blond haired girl, Yuki dyes her hair pitch black, as she really dislikes her own natural color. She has bright blue eyes, but she also covers up those with colored contacts, turning her eyes bright red and yellow, and cat-like, scaring off most people. While her face is also a bit pale -though not extremely, she just doesn't get much sunlight- it doesn't really have any unique features, though she is of course easily recognized as a foreigner. She is roughly 5'4 tall and of a skinny build. She always wears black or gothic clothing, though not in the ‘popular’ hyped kind of way Misa Amane does. As opposed to Misa Amane, she doesn't have a cute, cheerful exterior, but a quite serious and rather sad look. Though she does wear pink tights and or underwear on occasion, making her immediately much more feminine than demonic.
Despite her ‘evil’ appearance, Yuki always walks around with her Eyore-plushie in a hand, regardless of where she goes. It is a strange sight for any other people, and it makes even more of them stay away from. She usually holds the donkey by an ear, but always makes sure nothing bad happens to it. The rest of the Winnie the Pooh gang are present in her room, sitting or lying on her bed, awaiting her return every night.
Personality: She is quite the quiet girl, especially around groups. While she can have a good conversation one-on-one, or possibly in a small group of friends, she prefers to keep silent and listen. In groups she can't even think of anything to say, although she may vehemently defend her position if someone attacks it. Though this is far from often, given her open-mindedness, she does not easily feel attacked.
Yuki is also a rather lazy person. While she has a death note, she barely uses it, only when she finds it necessary. Though when she does, her murders are always very elaborate schemes taking days to unfold, though she's never done one that took the full twenty three days. Her murders are never heart attacks, since she likes to be creative.
She is very independent, and somewhat of a rebel. If someone tries to impose an opinion on her, she'll more often than not pick the other side, if only to annoy the other person. On top of that, she no longer has a worldly sense of right and wrong, and sees death as the conclusion of life. She has no problems killing any person, as their time must be up sometime, it's ridiculous to try and fight off the inevitable. Thus she is absolutely not afraid to die either and would even welcome the chance to end this pointless existence, but in spite of that she is not suicidal and remains among the living until someone bests her or she is randomly struck down by nature, or a shinigami.
And finally, Yuki takes things the way they come, not worrying too much about the specific outcome of things, even if they are potentially dangerous to her. She's not much of a planner, and thus manages to surprise people by her improvisations in critical situations. One of the consequences of this is that she hides secrets in plain sight of others, because hiding them away would require planning.
Biography: Kyllikki was born in Finland, Europe, just over 19 years ago. She lived peacefully until after her seventeenth birthday when her parents died in a plane crash, a plane she should've been on, but wasn't because the father of her best friend had had a heart attack and died. She was taken in by her rich uncle, the man seemed to neglect her mostly however, and had only taken her in because of his political interests.
In the days that followed, she found a note, inscribed upon it the text ‘Death Note’. She didn't believe the notebook at first of course and put it aside as a good joke. But when the shinigami Noa appeared besides her, she had no choice but to admit it was real. Her first victim was her rich uncle, after a quickly debilitating disease that raged through the man for a little over two weeks, he finally succumbed in his sleep. Kyllikki inherited everything.
After a test or two more over the course of the next year, Kyllikki made plans to move to Japan, where the Kira case had just begun. No-one had yet suspected someone was behind it, though they would soon realize it. It was just a huge number of bizarre heart attacks then, but Kyllikki had known better from the start. So she donned the alias Yuki Kurosawa and using her acquired fortune, she made plans to move to Japan, she wanted to be in the middle of it, so that she could make things more interesting. After all, taking out the right person at the right time in a random accident could make all the difference in the world.
Weapon: A pen. The pen is mightier than the sword. While that is true in its own right, it's nothing compared to a pen combined with a death note.
Quirks:
Yuki loves watching cartoons, especially things like the Looney Tunes and Winnie the Pooh. Her favorite movies of all time are Monsters Inc, Tigger's Movie (sooo cute) and the Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland. Yuki likes to sleep late because she is not a morning person. Yuki hides her talking to Noa by talking to her Eyore-plushie. Yuki gets little to no exercise. Like most females, Yuki loves chocolate. Despite killing, she still has a somewhat childish innocence about her.
Talents: Hiding things in plain sight. Her plans can take long times to unfold, but because they are adjusted often due to her lack of planning. This makes them hard to counteract. Yuki can easily figure out new technologies.
Name: Andrew Jonathon ((Ishilar04)) Alias: 1. Minoru Akaike 2. Matsu Hirayama 3. Ray Asuko Age: 17 Side: All of them (explained later) Occupation: Student at Light's school Race: Human Death Note: Yes. Shinigami Eyes: Yes Shinigami: Xias Biography: Andrew's parents were Japanese citizens who moved to America a year before his birth. They became American citizens and intended to remain there for the rest of their lives. Andrew was born and given an "American" name. Up until Andrew's second birthday, the family was happy. Andrew's father, however, during Andrew's second year of age, suffered a heart attack and died. The family plummeted into debt. Andrew's mother remarried the ringleader of a traveling circus. The step-father was quite nice to Andrew and taught him how to eat fire and juggle knives and the like. Andrew was allowed to perform along with the circus. Things went well into Andrew turned 6. The family was financially stable once again and Andrew's mother decided it was time to leave the circus. Andrew begged to stay, but even the other circus performers didn't want him along. Andrew didn't want it to end and, like a child, threw a tantrum and ran away. He came across a black notebook on the ground. A Death Note. Andrew met the Shinigami Xias. The sight of a monster terrified the child and left him traumatized. Traumatized, Andrew developed amnesia and upon awaking, found the entire circus crew and his mother slaughtered. Xias informed Andrew that a person with a Death Note had killed them. After that, Andrew began to develop multiple personalities as he grew to understand the powers of his own Death Note. After his mother's death and the death of the entire circus crew, Andrew was taken into an orphanage where Andrew keened his intellect night and day, intent on finding the owner of the Deathnote that destroyed his life. As he grew, Andrew came to also suspect a Death Note role in the earlier death of his father as well as that of his mother. As a result, Andrew has vowed to kill all owners of a Death Note as well as any Shinigami he can, though he accepts that he cannot will a Shinigami to die, especially since it is immensely difficult to see them without having touched their Death Notes. Upon hearing of Kira, Andrew moved to Japan and began investigating his first target and in order to track down holders of Death Notes more easily, he has traded Xias for Shinigami Eyes, believing himself capable of eliminating holders of Death Notes and the notebooks of death themselves before his time is up. By this time, the personalities in Andrew have fully developed. All three personalities took on three different aliases. The Andrew that hunts the Death Note holders calls himself Minoru Akaike. The second personality, is completely insane and kills for the hell of it is Matsu Hirayama. Matsu is intrigued by Kira, the first owner of a Death Note Andrew has encountered, and wishes to test which of them is "stronger" although smarter would be the better word for it. The third and final personality is one that strives for a divine justice similar to Light's. He wishes to meet with Kira so as to make a combined effort and cleanse the world. He calls himself Ray Asuko. Three personalities. One body. One target: Light Yagami. And they will do anything to attain their goals. One thing to note is that none of Andrew's personalities are aware the others exist. Thus when one personality takes over, it has no idea what the other personalities have been doing as Andrew. Minoru could be considered a protagonist as he will work to find Kira and kill him. Matsu is neutral: He just wants to kill indiscriminately, siding with neither force Ray is an antagonist who will throw in his lot with Kira. Personality: It depends on which personality is in control. Minoru: Minoru is shy around girls and has trouble conversing with them as a result. He will respond if spoken to, but other than that, Minoru keeps to himself most of the time, preferring to observe events. Matsu: If Minoru is white, Matsu is black. Matsu is very loud and boisterous and really doesn't care what people think of him and thus has no trouble talking with women (and hitting on them as well.) When in control, Matsu is very perverted and has no reservations about checking out a girl's "situation" as he calls it. Matsu has no reservations about killing and does it frequently when in control. Ray: Ray is a "normal" person in that he is neither loud like Matsu nor reclusive like Minoru. He is the "inbetween" and possesses a charming smile and wit, making him popular with his classmates. Very social, but not to the point of Matsu's boisterous attitude.
Traits shared by all three: A keen intellect, very high observational skills, a desire to find Kira, and a strong dislike of chocolate
Appearance: Andrew is tall and lithe, standing a grand 6' and as thin as a toothpick. Not to say Andrew doesn't eat. He eats constantly whenever he can, but his metabolism reflects his height in that it is also extremely high. A mess of black hair covers dark green eyes.
Minoru dresses casually, much like L, but not as extraordinary. He wears shoes for starters as well as a pair of jeans and a plain shirt that is usually rumpled. Matsu dresses in something one would expect to see in a movie: A pair of black boots and pants, a shirt that is never buttoned and a trenchcoat that is likewise never buttoned. He and Minoru seldomly comb their hair and often go to school with it looking however it did when they woke up. Ray typically dons a suit and tie on school days and comes to school with his hair neatly combed. On free days, he wears Matsu's outfit, although the shirt and coat are buttoned.
Weapon: Knives. Andrew has knives literally stuffed in every conceivable location on his person. However, the only time the knives can be found on his person is when Matsu is in control. There are 3 up his sleeves, one in the back of either boot, and four inside the overcoat. Matsu has deadly accuracy with these knives and is very acrobatic in the way he wields them. However, even Matsu will not carry arms into school and thus only has them with him while investigating Kira.
Quirks: -Andrew and his personalities all do not like coffee or tea nor any type of soda. As an energy source, Andrew consumes mass amounts of cookies.
-Despite Ray possessing some form of wit and charm, all three personalities are utter idiots when it comes to women and expressing themselves and have no idea how to act on dates. Hence why Andrew has never has a girlfriend.
-One of the rare occassions Minoru speaks up is when he drives. Of the three personalities, Minoru is the only one with road rage and he will not hesitate to shout at people, give rude gestures, and the like.
Talents: -Observation and seeing what others don't -Acting - (Matsu only) Torture -Espionage -Manipulating others -Fluent in 24 different languages -The All Seeing Eye: A talent developed from Andrew's keen eyesight and observational skill. It allows him to discover any girl's measurements merely by looking at them.
