Map completion, hidden rooms |
|
I have just gotten to the inverted castle and was trying to clear up the few rooms in the regular castle that I had missed. I was able to get all of them except for two, which according to the map (linked below) have NO entrance. The one on the left is a save point, and there's a room on the right near the Succubus' lair. I've indicated the two rooms in question with orange arrows (sorry, but all I have is Paint). So I'm wondering: how the heck can I get into those two rooms if they have no entrances? I'd like to get as many rooms as possible on my first run-through, as I'm just revisiting the game after many years of absence and want to start off with a bang. Thanks in advance for responses.

quote RickyTheFishhmm, i think than those rooms are in fact of the saturn version, also by any casuality you have items that allows YOU to hit multipel tagets at once?, if thats so i suggest you fall fromt eh sucubus chamber and try using a neutron bomb/power of sire, to see if there is a secret passage. ------------------- ![]() Join GoBad Chaos commanders Join Time Warp Join the Star meteor clan

I've tried bashing all the walls on all sides of both of those rooms, and I've also tried Soul Steal (which does hit breakable walls), but I'll try throwing a Power of Sire or Pentagram and see if they find something I didn't. I also have a follow-up to my question; I've gone through the Inverted Castle, and there are some rooms in the water (in addition to the rooms indicated in my first map) that I cannot possibly get - I have tried over and over again, and they don't seem possible to get in the Inverted Castle. I was able to get them in the Regular Castle, however, so I'm thinking maybe I'm just missing something.
Here's my Inverted Castle map: here I ended up with 199.8%, level 62, with all Relics and 337 Heart Max (not sure how high it goes), which I suppose isn't too bad for my first try in 10 years.

re: Map completion, hidden rooms |
quote Duncan IdahoWell, I've tried using Power of Sire/Bat Pentagram/Pentagram/Soul Steal on all possible sides of both rooms, and I still cannot find a way inside. It's possible they are only accessible with the "Walk Through Walls" trick, but I've never been able to get the trick to work, so I can't find out if it's possible that way either. I have to think there MUST be a way into the rooms normally - the one on the left is a Save Point, and I doubt they would make a save point impossible to get to. In follow-up to my previous message regarding some rooms in the Inverted Castle that weren't possible to get mapped, I think my map is just messed up. I took a look at my Regular Castle and Inverted Castle maps, and they have the exact same rooms uncovered, it's just that the Inverted LOOKS like there should be more rooms. I turned the Inverted Castle's map upside-down for easy comparison to the Regular Castle, and linked both images below: Regular Castle: Here Inverted Castle (upside-down): Here If I'm correct, and each room gives just over .1%, then it makes sense that the rooms in both maps can be uncovered for perfect game completion. I have 199.8%, and with the Save Point and the 3-room-long room uncovered on both maps, that will put me at 200.6%, which is perfect completion without the Sword Glitch. Edit: If you're at 197.7%, you should be able to get the Best ending. You only need 196% or more to get the Best ending. This message was edited by RickyTheFish on Mar 03 2009.

re: Map completion, hidden rooms |

Well, I sort of answered my own question. I still haven't found a way into those rooms, and it's possible the map I have is just incorrect. I did, however, figure out that the rooms I indicated in this link ARE possible to get in the Inverted Castle, and not graphical glitches as I had thought. In order to get them, you have to go to the highest point in that square and turn into the wolf - he's shorter than Alucard, and thus allows you to go *just* a little bit higher. It's not a whole lot higher, but it's enough to map those rooms. I now have 200.5%, and I believe mapping the final room with Shaft/Dracula will give me the final bit to fill out my 200.6%. Huzzah!
Edit: Someone on YouTube said it was possible to map the Shaft room - is this true? I can't even hover over it with the Bat without it taking me out of Bat form and into the final battle. Do you know of a way to map the room without fighting? Edit2: Stupid me... I figured it out. Just enter the fight and use a Library card. It maps the room, 200.6% completion. Level 63, all Familiars level 99, 200.6% completion... not too shabby for my first time playing in 10 years. This message was edited by RickyTheFish on Mar 03 2009.

dont double psot, its a basic neo rue, dont owryy, also yeah its possible, if you have a library card, with you, use it, after you kill shaft (i think) then you should be transportd to the libary in the 1st castle.

Yeah, I know, it's usually frowned upon, but I didn't want to have like 5 edits in one post. Scores of edits are more annoying than a single double-post, in my opinion. =)
Edit: And actually, you can use a Library Card at the very beginning of the fight, you don't even have to kill Shaft.

re: Map completion, hidden rooms |
quote RickyTheFishfunny fact, i once tried to kill shaft using the curve sword specail trick, it killed ritcher instead, had to reset, and yeah, you are rigth, but im wanting to get 200.6% of completion, also i think there is a better map i think gamefaws or ign are the best when it comes to that game (mapping obviously) ------------------- ![]() Join GoBad Chaos commanders Join Time Warp Join the Star meteor clan

re: Map completion, hidden rooms |
quote Duncan IdahoI could post a composite of my two maps, I have 200.6%... it won't be a perfect picture, but it will show what you need for the max room completion. If you want me to, I'll post it. Edit: You didn't request it, but I was bored and decided to do it anyway. I didn't edit out any of the outlying stuff, so it's kinda crappy, but the Inverted is on top and the Regular is on bottom, with a red-lined shaft connecting them.
