GZW: Ground Zero Wrestling Roleplay Thread |
![]() Ground Zero Wrestling Reborn from the ashes... Introduction by former Councilman Bri, July 29th, 2009. As many of you already know, roleplays have long been a part of the Interactive Roleplay Forum. They encourage creativity, originality, writing skills and dedication...but what is to say you can't have fun doing it? The most important aspect of any RP is the fun factor, and GZW promises to bring that back to the table of the roleplayer. Ground Zero Wrestling, a project that has literally come out of the ground zero of its predecessor, is different in many ways. For one, the authoritative chain of command has been vastly altered. No longer will there be one sole head honcho - in GZW, we have four figures responsible for maintaining stability of the roleplay. Some may have different roles to play, but all are dedicated to making this a success for all roleplayers. I welcome you to join this ever-growing company, and as someone who has been through this a dozen times before, my best advice is...ask questions if you're confused, and do your best. Good luck. Below are the company standards...abide by these rules, and you won't have to face the Council. So, how do I get started? For the majority of you who picked a character in the sign-up thread, this doesn't apply. Skip to the next section. For those of you who are looking to become a part of the GZW family, read on. It really is a simple procedure to get into the company. Simply send a Neoseeker Private Message over to the GZW Council Account. This account is the authority account, where shows are posted and complaints are handled by the council. Simply entitle your message [Signup], and state what unoccupied character or diva you would like to take on. The Council will process the request within 24 hours, and we will contact you with any relevant information or a formal welcome. Participation and Quality Wrestling roleplays have long sought an optimal level of activity for its players. In Ground Zero Wrestling, we want activity, but we want decent activity. Quality OVER Quantity. Numerous, but low-quality roleplays will obviously have a harder time stacking up next to better written pieces, even though there may be less of them. Simply putting words together isn't enough, it's how you use them to your advantage. It is your goal to make the reader believe in your character. Knowing this will take you quite far in roleplaying. As the company is starting out with two shows, the recommended level of participation is TWO RP'S A WEEK. This accounts for the two shows. Many roleplayers though, will do much more than the bare minimum. In all honesty, one RP isn't enough (unless you are a true risktaker) to possibly get all of your points across. As I said above, this isn't permission to do 60 low-quality, 100 word roleplays. That is a no-no, and considering that one of the Councilmembers is also a forum moderator, it can be counted as spam, and further disciplinary action may be taken against you. Leave of Absence Real life can get in the way, we understand this. If you are in a dire situation and can't roleplay, that's quite all right. Again, PM the Council to inform us that you would like some time off. It isn't that easy, though. The maximum time you can use on any given hiatus is ONE MONTH. Your character will be held frozen until the one month date. Unfortunately, if you have not yet returned by that point, your character(s) will become a free agent(s), available for the taking by absolutely anyone interested. If you return three months later, and said character is vacated, you may reoccupy again without a problem. There is no "no-compete clause" when it comes to coming and going. Superstar Overness To put it in practical terms, everybody on the roster starts with their overness statistic at 30. This can then go up or down depending on various factors, primarily in terms of interesting and entertaining RPs which develop a character/storyline/alliance/feud and so on over a period of time...just like real life, one-off brilliance can get you over for a short while, but it’s real depth and consistency which make you memorable in the long run. We feel that this is something that should give people a real long-term incentive to avoid simply floating around in meaningless matches week after week, as that’ll get you know where, and helps establish a valid system so that everybody knows where they stand. Everyone starts out at 30 overness in the midcard section. You can gain points by using the following scale: Win your match | +5 Segment for a show | +2 Match of The Month | +7 Place on the Power 10 | +5 Number 1 on the power 10 | +7 Fued Of The Month | +5 Number One Contender Match Win | +7 Title Win | +10 Regular RPing (Such as rping when you dont even have a match) | +3 per week Use this scale if you want to lose points... Lose your match | -3 Title Loss | -5 No Show/Don't rp for a match | -8 Uppercard is 50 - 74 and Main Event is 75 - and on. Credit to Disenchanted. ALWAYS INFORM! - Nothing pisses us off more than someone who carelessly leaves. Your character suffers needless losses, and effort is spent writing matches for someone who fails to compete. If you fail to inform us of your departure, you do not get a month. Depending on the circumstances and actions, you may lose your character in two weeks. Council Affairs The Council works a bit differently because major decisions are taken as a group. It's important to take that into consideration if any problems arise during your stay in the company. The Council is made up of four roleplayers who take care of business and keep things stable in both the RP thread and the general discussion. It is our responsibility to make sure everyone is content as possible. Who exactly is on the Council? Dash The Stampede[/color] We are in charge of card assembly, putting shows together, decision making - this includes judging who wins matches. What can I do if I'm unhappy? If you feel unsatisfied with the company, whether it be a bad call, problems with another roleplayer, or just need a private consult, feel free to contact us. We will get back to you as soon as possible. Rest assured that both of us will see your message and discuss it. Also, do not be afraid to call one of us out if you feel one of us may be the problem. We are mature people, and we can take a bit of criticism. Simply be respectful and honest. That's it! - Keeping those things in mind should make for a smooth ride for everyone. If you have any questions, approach us, or ask in the General Discussion, which will always be found in the forum, very close to this thread. » 2009 GZW Council. ![]() Liberation is the hardest, most dangerous and scariest place to be in the world of wrestling. The GZW roster showcase there talent here to the world on live television all for one thing; opportunity. ![]() CM PUNK ------ TWEENER ------ 0/0/0 The camera feed opens up to show a snowy neighborhood. It's bright day light, but the snow is falling at a alarming rate. A black dog is seen walking across a street, and a couple of kids are out playing in the snow. The camera feed switches again, to the same neighborhood, the snow is no longer seen, but at the same house where those children were playing, you can see the same number of teenagers sitting on the front porch. A bunch of laughter can be heard from the teens, and you can see smoke coming from the porch. One of the kids stands up, and begins to walk. He is having a rough time walking, before he finally falls down the steps. He lands in the grass, but he doesn't seem to be getting up. The camera feed switches again, to the same neighborhood, only this time, it's evening, and an ambulance, and a few police cars are waiting in front of the house. You can see a stretcher being pulled into the ambulance, as police officers seem to be questioning the rest of the teenagers. A man walking along the sidewalk comes walking up to the camera. Wearing a black and white striped hoody, with the hood over his head. The man stops in front of the camera, and lifts his head to reveal, the Straight Edge Superstar, CM Punk!

[REBUILDING THE MACHINE] [PART I - JOBLESS] ------------------------ So, there I was. Jobless. World Wrestling Entertainment was dead. Total Nonstop Action was dead. I had nothing left. I couldn't wrestle any more. I couldn't commentate anywhere. Hell, I couldn't even manage anyone anywhere. Distraught, I tried to figure out a solution. But nothing. It was then that I got a call from someone. He mentioned something to me about a new wrestling promotion. Apparently it was going to be the biggest promotion ever seen, even surpassing WWE. Well, what choice did I have? I happily agreed. Then he told me the one thing I couldn't possibly have expected. He wanted me to become an active wrestler. I hadn't wrestled a match since god knows when. With all my injuries, I couldn't possibly wrestle again. Could I? [PART II - DONE AND DUSTED] ------------------------ I didn't really want to wrestle again. My body wouldn't allow it even if I did. But regardless, I hit the gym. I hadn't been in a while and you could tell. I was much bigger than I used to be. I used to be the leanest and meanest son of a bitch in wrestling. No one could compare with me. Now it was a different story. I was out of shape and nowhere near as strong as I used to be. One day in the gym and I was spent. My body ached. I couldn't do this. I went to bed and was out like a light. I never would've expected what happened next. [PART III - THE REBUILDING PROCESS] ------------------------ I woke up the next morning. My body no longer ached. I had a weird feeling. I... I wanted to train. I wanted to get back in the gym as soon as possible. So I did. Another day, another workout. I continued the routine for nearly three months. Every day it was up at six, gym by eight, home by seven and bed by ten. I had a diet worked out for me. Everything was going the right way. Soon enough, I was the old me. And not only that... but no longer did my back ache doing simple jobs. I felt... rejuvenated. I felt like a new man. I knew what I needed to do next. I needed to get rid of my ring rust. I rang a friend who gladly hooked me up for a local show. Three days until I finally got back in a ring for the right reason. [PART IV - RETURN, ALBEIT A SMALL ONE] ------------------------ The small hall was full to the brim. Amazing considering my appearance was a complete surprise. The crowd was going to blow the roof off this place once my music hit. At least, I hoped they did. I watched a large portion of the show from behind the curtain. I swear someone noticed me so I decided to go get ready. Did I mention my new attire? Damn it was sweet. Just like my one from the ECW days. Had a giant 13 on the back with some tribal thorns around it. Thank god for connections. I got told it was time to get going. I threw my hand in to my bag one more time and grabbed the trademark towel. How I'd missed it. The crowd was insane. I was facing some guy called Mega. Apparently he was the New York Wrestling Connection Heavyweight Champion. The crowd were getting restless as Mega made a speech about having no competition. A man with a headset on signalled to me and there it was. My old theme. I said the words in my head as they rang through the hall... Survive if I let you. I pushed through the curtain and the crowd went insane. I couldn't see them through the towel, but the sound was deafening. In to the ring and the towel in to the crowd. Arms crossed. It was all coming back. The crowd were eating it up. Then that Mega guy jumped me. The rest was a blur. [PART V - AFTER IT WAS ALL SAID AND DONE] ------------------------ I woke up the next day still tired. I don't even remember what happened in the match last night. I wasn't sore, so it couldn't have been too bad. Surely the Internet would know. Straight on to YouTube and searched for "Taz". There it was. "Taz versus Mega - NYWC". I watched it. I was amazed. I was fast, agile, strong. I was dominant. Soon enough, Mega missed a splash in the corner and the Tazmission was locked in. Mega went down. Slowly, but surely. Soon enough, I had won. I couldn't believe it. I wrestled a match with no complications. As I sat and watched the match over and over again, I couldn't help but be proud of myself. I'd done what I was told I'd never be able to do again. I'll admit it. I even smiled, something I hadn't done in a long time. Days went by as I continued to work out and do my thing. That's when I got the call that I had been waiting for. Ground Zero Wrestling was a go. In just one month, I'd be the name on every one's lips. I'd be the biggest drawing wrestler in the world. And I was gonna choke out anyone who got in my way. So right now, I'm putting anyone who's joining GZW on notice. BEAT ME IF YOU CAN. BUT SURVIVE IF I LET YOU.

![]() Name: Velvet Sky Finisher: Beauty Mark Alt. Finisher: Blonde Ambition W/L/D: 0/0/0 Our first scene opens up outside of tonight's GZW Liberation debut event live from Madison Square Garden. Having officially been signed to the company just a week earlier, Velvet Sky was expecting to compete In her very first match as part of GZW's expanding roster, however... on this occasion, that wasn't the case. Velvet was asked to attend backstage as Trish Stratus was schedule to address the current Women's Title situation. And being typical Velvet she was late to arrive to the arena, thus already earning herself the impression of being a high maintenance, self cantered bitch... Which, in actual fact is exactly what she is. Unlike a lot of the other ladies in GZW, Velvet Sky didn't care what any fan, or as she would call them; 'marks' thought about her. She didn't hide behind a charade of being a nice, respectful lady, who you saw on screen and had become accustomed to in other federations. Velvet Sky had no problems at all showing the world exactly what type of person she was... Whether they liked it or not. It was about 4.30pm and with most of the roster already inside the arena preparing for the evenings show, this meant every fan who was lining up outside, were waiting and waiting for just another person to arrive. They had yet to spot that the small, black rented Corsa just outside of the arena gates was holding GZW's newest lady, Velvet Sky. Velvet was in the back seat, staring out of the window at what was ahead of her, the hundreds of fans pacing around, just waiting for someone to arrive. She suddenly gasped and placed her head back through the car window, and as the cameras panned around we could see that the driver was Velvet's newest serving friend, and ex-stable member Madison Rayne.

??? 0/0/0 "Blocking It Out" "I could here the fans screaming for me as I pulled into the parking lot of the arena. They're beloved hero had arrived to Ground Zero Wrestling to put on a show. Unfortunately, that was me. I tried my best to block out their cheers, the cheers that for so long have made me end up overconfident and end up failing. Still, it was hard to do. All the pressure put on by the millions of people who screamed my name until it echoed throughout the arena and inside of my mind. It makes everything more difficult, and yet, I've had these thoughts for so long. Too damn long. I never do anything about it. I've always got to be the good guy around here, the one who would never turn his back against these people. I know the truth though. Most of these people I work with, most of them are too damn stupid to realise the truth. Even though I haven't turned on these people, if I fell off they'd turn on me in an instant." I slowly step out of the car I'm riding in. A fan runs up, a boy about twelve years old, showing the enthusiasm of a life long fan and begging for an autograph on the mask in his hands. He quickly scatters off in joy, running to show his friends what he had obtained. I start to walk away towards the doors that will take me backstage to the locker room. I look back again at the boys who are examining the autographed mask in awe. I can't help but smile at first. They all seem so happy. Then I remember where the fans being happy has got me in this business and shake my head in disgust. Absolutely nowhere. "Give it a few years, when I'm not at the top of the food chain anymore, and that will be on Ebay for a few dollars. Should I be complaining though? I mean, that child, an innocent child, seemed euphoric just at getting to be around the man he idolized. Am I being selfish by contemplating pushing these people aside? No. Not at all. It would be doing what is best for myself for a change and putting a championship belt around my waist. I don't need these people to do that. I never have. For years I let entertaining them come first. It has always been my priority in that ring. I need another one at this point in my career though. Success. If that means I have to turn my back on these people before they turn theirs on me, damn it I will. They've never supplied me with anything, yet I put my body on the line for them every damn week. How foolish have I been?" I step through the door and make my way through the freezing hallways backstage. I pass several staff members and road agents and ignore their attempts to greet me. I'm too busy and focused on the thoughts pouring through my mind at the moment. I guess their really isn't another option at this point. These fans love me and I have no choice but to go with it. I'll do my signature moves, the fans will jump out of their seats only to realise that despite a few wins here and there, I'll never be the best with them holding me down. No choice now though. I'll throw on this mask and fake smile and pretend I'm loving every minute of it, while it eats me up inside even though the fans are cheering my name throughout this cold arena. Rey Mysterio."

![]() Name: Mickie James Disposition: Heel Gimmick: GZW’s Grungy Domme W/L/D: 0/0/0 Motive: Dominate --- GZW Liberation Cameras pick up backstage, and the crowd instantly gives a huge pop as they see none other than the one and only Mickie James, sitting blissfully in her chair as she holds her red riding cat-o-nines. Dressed in red leather, she is every man’s dream…but also their worst nightmare. Ah ha! King: Oh boy JR, It’s Mickie James! JR: Get a grip, King. Ever since the GZW council announced that the women’s division was returning, that’s all you’ve been able to talk about. King: Oh, I just can’t help it JR. You know I just go crazy for PUPPIES! JR:… Mickie: You know, I bet you all think that just because I’m dressed in red leather…thigh high boots…and carry a riding crop…I must be some kind of cheap whore. Right?...Right? Well YOU’RE WRONG![heat] Everyone is taken aback by Mickie’s sudden outburst. Her entire demeanor changed from being calm and happy to incredibly viscious and outraged. As this less than popular reaction sounds throughout the arena, Mickie uncrosses, then recrosses her legs, adorned by those red and black boots. She was quite the sight to behold. Mickie: The reason I dress like this is because…well…let’s be honest. It’s obvious isn’t it. I am the most beautifulWHAT?, sexy[WHAT?], and most of all…dominant woman in the history of wrestling…and damn it, it’s about time all you pathetic people realized it. JR: Wow. This hideous reaction Mickie gets leaves no doubt to everyone watching around the world how they feel about her, and her attitude. If her goal was to piss everyone off, she definitely accomplished it. Mickie: I am going to take GZW by storm…one by one…you all will get down…on all fours…and worship me like the dogs you are. I will control you and make you beg for mercy…oh you can deny it…but eventually everyone will fall. First, it will be the women’s division of GZW…and then…all of wrestling will become my servant. More boos from this crowd as Mickie giggles and laughs evily and sadistically, those piercing blue eyes, and full red luscious lips staring right into the camera, enchanting and hypnotizing everyone who looks upon them. Mickie: I am Mickie James…the most dominant wrestler in the women’s division…and it’s about damn time you all realized it. Everyone’s jaw drops as Mickie cracks her cat-o-nines in the air and cackles yet again, her evil laughs sounding throughout the arena as her theme, Freak On A Leash by KoRn begins to play. GZW has no idea what Mickie has in store for them…and quite frankly, they probably don’t want to know either.

Sweat flowed from his every pore like a river. It was flung into the air with each strike against the padded wall. The sweat eventually trickled into his eyes which would cause a regular man to stop. But rather the stinging sensation fueled him to continue.
His concentration was focused on the quickness, the placement, and the power of each of his strikes. It was uncanny because he was in control of each move, deciding in a split second how hard, how high, and how quick the next kick or punch would be. He ignored the aching of his joints and the shrieking of his tendons. He had been training for hours now and was not planning on stopping just yet. He always felt the need to push himself, to prove he was a true warrior. To prove to himself that he was ready to be the next Zettai Ohja, Absolute Champion. He had left his homeland in pursuit of a higher calling and he did not intend on failing. His concentration began to drift to the dark confines of his mind as his body began to control itself. He began to dream of Japan, his home. He reminisced of his humble beginnings in the All Japan Dojo where he was treated like a dog until he began to gain the respect of his senseis. Unlike the other students, he would not back down from a challenge no matter how large the opponent might be. No matter how many times he was knocked down, he would come right back and fight with as much fury as before. His mind traveled throughout his entire career, winning multiple titles against friends and enemies alike. But then his mind delved deeper. He was leaving his home in Tokyo, suitcase in one hand and passport in the other. He checked his watch and saw that he was more than on time to leave for his flight to America. It was not the first time he ventured into gaijin territory. He looked behind himself to see a women running to him. He immediately dropped his things and embraced her. The woman's name was Maiko and she was his lover. Maiko: Oh why must you leave? I will miss you so terribly. ???: You know why I must leave. So our child can have the life that we never had. He rubbed his hand on Maiko's belly which was large with their child. Wrestling in Japan had not been kind to he and his lover as of recently. The economy was plummeting what seemed to be further and further. Not many people could afford to go see his valiant fights. But America had always had a large fan base for wrestling and when the offer presented itself, he could not refuse. Not only did he take the offer for his unborn child and lover but for his own dreams as well. To be king among gaijin would be the greatest honor he could think of. And not only that, he wanted to continue wrestling for it was his art. It was his passion. It was his life. He looked into her delicate and innocent eyes and smiled. Maiko's eyes began to swell with tears and he gently caught one with his finger. ???: Do not cry Maiko, I will be back very soon. I will make sure that Naomichi takes care of you. I am sorry but I must go. Aishite imasu. He then kissed her and left. Maiko stood there for several minutes in shock because he had said an expression that was rarely used in Japan. Aishite imasu. I love you. His mind eventually came back to the present as he continued to strike the padded wall. Eventually he decided to focus on his most lethal weapon, his kicks. So he kicked with lightning like speed and precision, each blow harder than the last. He continued this until he lost his balance kicking with his left leg and fell. Immediately his concentration was broken and his worn and torn body took it's revenge as pain shot through his entire body. He gasped in agony for several minutes until he became comfortable with the pain. It was time to stop he decided. Many minutes later, hot water danced on his body. It felt amazing to his sore muscles. The shower was not only used to cleanse his body physically but mentally as well. The steam helped him think. The question immediately rose, why do I do this? Why do I torture myself daily like this? He stood there in silence, considering why he did do all of this. He quickly answered to become the best. Pain is nothing more than weakness leaving the body. Then another question arose. Who are you? He quickly answered. I am KENTA. I am a warrior. Wrestling is my art and passion.

![]() Name: Maryse Nickname: The Sexiest Of The Sexy Disposition: Heel The camera cuts to a very busy french themed hair salon. A women dressed in a black shirt, black shirt and red high heels was working on somebody's hair. She sprayed it and styled it before asking the customer if she liked it. She looked in the huge mirror in front of her, the chair and hairdresser were blocking the cameras view. The customer nodded at the hairdresser and waved her hand at her to signal her to walk away. The hairdresser walked away in her red high heels as the big black chair span around to reveal that the customer was none other than the beautiful blonde diva; Maryse. She ran her hand through her long blonde hair before flicking it to her left. She sat in the chair in a black designer top with a red heart on it that was at a slant so it was over her shoulder. She was also wearing, also designer, denim hotpants. The last piece of clothing to go with her pricey outfit was her black high heel pointed toe boots. She crossed her lovely tanned legs and rested her arms on the arm rests.

It is make or break time. It is the time to put up or shut up. To show everyone what you are made off. A fresh slate, that's what it is, a second chance. A chance to show off your true homegrown talent, your true potential. Fresh faces, and old alike. Everyone has to start at the bottom and make their way up to the top. I sit here in my locker room, waiting to know what Trish Stratus has to say to the world, I want to know what is so important, I want to know why I must wait until later tonight to find out what is in store for are title situation. I want to know who will be the champion, so I can prepare myself to defeat the woman and take what is mine. There I sit in my room, a camera in front of me, I have a message to deliver, I have a word to say, a message to get across. My hands intertwined with one another I would look down. My eyes on the floor, on my feet as I think over my message to the world. My eye's glance up as I am ready, ready to speak, ready to get my message across to the males and females in the back. Beth Phoenix: I am not some dolled up slut. I am not some eye candy for you all to look at, for your mouths to drop and sway side to side. I am a female wrestler and I am proud of it. I have come here for one thing, and one thing only, the woman's championship.
Jim Ross: Things are heating up now. With a major announcement later on tonight about the state of our woman's division it would seem that a number of are divas are expressing themselves. Jerry Lawler: If I can say something for a moment that right there is no diva that is basically a man with puppies! Jim Ross: Oh well you listen to yourself, she may not be as toned and slim as the other Divas in are woman's division but this woman right here is something special. I would lower my head, my tongue coming out of my mouth and wetting my dry lips a fraction. To speak like this, to put everyone in their place, it gives me great joy, it gives me great pleasure. Great satisfaction to know I am justified in my words. That these people need real wrestling. They need real woman wrestlers, and not the dolled up rubbish they are spoon feed week in and week out in other companies. The sight of these dolled up females makes her sick. Makes her want to throw up and take her papers and just leave. But this company seems to be different these seems to be hope yet. Beth Phoenix: GZW is a new venture for me, a new experience for one and all. This is a fresh new company with many prospecting youths. But before they get their moment in the limelight I want to have mine. I want to show you all that I am the number one, and I will crush any pampered up doll to get what I want. My lips curve into a scold. I am getting angry. My fists they clench repeatedly, I need to vent my angry out. I need to hit something. No I must wait, I must relax I get through this. It is just a message. I know talking about the other disgraceful females on this show, it makes my blood boil, my temperature rises, but it must be done, they know who they are, and they should be scared, they should fear me as I am disgusting at people like them. I just want to smash their faces into a bloody mess. Beth Phoenix: And unlike other woman here, I am going to take GZW by storm. I am going to tear through whoever I have to. I will crush everyone and anyone that stands before me. I will take on everyone and at any time, for I'm the Glamazon, I am your next champion! With that I am done, I have vented out all that I wanted to. I have said my piece. My message is clear to them all. That I am here to make an impact. I am here to show them all that I stand for what woman's wrestling truly is. I am a proud woman wrestler and any dolled up Diva that comes my way will be sent a one way ride to the hospital. I have said what I wanted, I am done with my message, cut, roll and print, we are done with this piece.

![]() Name: Melina Gimmick: The Ringleader Disposition: Heel W/L/D: 0/0/0 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Immense beauty. Radiant personality. Gifted athlete. Centre of attention. Just some of the many phrases thrown around when describing the young woman who goes by the name of Melina Perez. In several years in the sports entertainment industry, she has proved herself time and time again as one of the most beautiful, yet one of the most dangerous women in the business. Many times men and women alike have tried to become close to this Latina temptress, and each and every time they have been shown the door after they become useless in the most unceremonious of fashions. This should be regarded as a warning to anybody in the new wrestling organisation, GZW. If you try and get close to Melina, it will only be you that suffers. But hey, you should know that already. Look out GZW, for Melina Perez, ‘The Ringleader’, is coming. And you’d better not get in her way, or there will be hell to pay. Sharply, the shot opens up to the woman herself sitting on a ‘Director’ chair with her back to the camera. She wears a tall top hat on her head, and sits slapping the end of a whip against her palm. Melina slowly turns to the camera, a slight smirk painted across her gorgeous, red lips. She flutters her eyelashes, before bearing her perfectly white teeth in a Cheshire cat grin.
With that, the shot fades to black as hastily as it first opened, a matter of seconds ago.

![]() ![]() Jeff Hardy w/ Seth Green Face ----- Is there a more appropriate place for the historic debut of Ground Zero Wrestling than Madison Square Garden? There’s 20,000 wrestling-starved fans sitting out there that sure don’t think so. There is an incomparable atmosphere about the place; that palpable electricity of something new and long-awaited finally arriving. GZW Liberation offers the kind of excitement that’ll turn even the most jaded of wrestling fans into kids again. There’s one fan in particular whose childlike wonderment got him a backstage pass, but his visit hasn’t been quite what he hoped it would. The camera navigates the busy halls, following voices, until it comes upon the diminutive Seth Green caught in a conversation he’d do anything to get out of. The crowd offers him a supportive pop. “…And then my second surgery was to fix up this fistula in my colon—d’you know what a fistula is, fella?” The man is portly and stretching the limits of his shirt. He leans, one hand pressed up against the wall, and affords Seth full view of his pit stains. His mustache catches a good deal of the spit when he talks, along with what seems like the remainder of three weeks of food. “I-I uh, don’t think I want to—“ Seth holds his palms up defensively and would’ve blanched if he wasn’t already sporting a nerd tan. His clothes hang off him like hand-me-downs. “Well y’see it’s like this—“ “That’s, uh, that’s cool, Harry,” Seth hastily cuts in, “I’m cool with my ignorance. I’ve heard it’s bliss, actually, so I think this would be a great opportunity for me to try it out.” He pauses and an awkward silence fills he air. Harry regards him with a curious expression, like he’s halfway to being offended. Seth clears his throat and nervously plays with the plastic laminate around his neck. “Anyway, I was just sort of wondering if we could get on with the whole tour thing. Normally I’d love to hear about… your… fistula, but I don’t exactly have a lot of time here in New York and I wanted to meet some of the guys.” “Harumph,” Harry grumbles, dating himself to about the 1930s. “Well, most of the guys are off gettin’ ready for their matches. It’s a big show tonight, see, and everybody wants to do their best. They got no time to be wastin’ with visitors.” The condescension drips almost as heavily as Harry’s sweat. “Sure they do, H-Bomb.” When Jeff Hardy enters the frame, the crowd gives him a rock star’s welcome. The high-risk hero is comfortably dressed in baggy, jet black pants and a loose, sleeveless t-shirt with his own face plastered on the front. His blue-dyed hair is tied back under a bandanna and a Hardys logo medallion dangles from his neck. “I got tons of time to waste, so maybe I can take Jumbo here for the tour and you can go regale Todd Grisham with that story of your, uh…” “…fistula,” Seth finishes, holding back the contents of his stomach. “Yeah. He’s been dyin’ to hear it, man. So, you go do that, and we'll go... over here.” Jeff claps a hand over Seth’s shoulder and spins him around. Jeff’s not the biggest wrestler around, but Seth Green still barely reaches to his shoulder. Without a look back he leads Seth to freedom, leaving Harry to find some other victim for his surgery stories. They duck down one of many identical hallways in the twisting backstage maze. “Oh, thank god,” Seth sighs with overwhelming relief once they’re out of earshot. “That was not a good time. Some very un-good times were had there. I don’t ever want to hear anything about surgery ever again.” “…The hell is a ‘fistula’ anyway?” “I don’t know. I don’t want to know. You don’t want to know. Please don’t say that word.” The Enigma gives little Seth a reassuring pat on the back as the pair of them, judging by the signs on the otherwise bare white walls, head towards the locker rooms. After a few deep breaths, ostensibly to get the stench of Harry’s pit sweat out of his nose, Seth seems much more at ease. Jeff’s had this sort of amused smirk on his face the entire time. “So what brings Oz down to MSG, man?” “Oh. Heh. You, ah, you watched—nevermind. I had some press stuff to do earlier today and I figured, you know, GZW’s in town and I’m a huge wrestling fan… I thought it would be cool to hang backstage with the stars on the big night.” “Not quite living up to what you were hoping for, huh?” “I blame Harry.” “Listen, man, I’m about to meet up with my brother to get planning for our tag match tonight against MVP and Mysterio. Why don’t you come chill with us ‘till match time? I can promise an absence of surgery-talk.” “Well, when you phrase it that way…” They head off down the corridor, conversation drifting into a ranking of the announce teams as Liberation cuts to the next segment. ![]() Disposition: Heel W/L/D: 0/0/0 Gimmick: Your Olympic Hero Motive: Debut --- There is a massive roar of the crowd; 18,000 strong on their feet to cheer on the arrival of the Olympic Gold Medalist, Kurt Angle. It’s an electric atmosphere. The fans in the arena are going absolutely nuts for GZW’s first ever show. They’ve seen amazing things so far, and now with Angle’s arrival, things have only gotten better. JR: Look at this king, it’s Kurt Angle! King: And he’s regrown his hair! I guess we can’t chant your bald anymore! JR: No, but these fans are content with chanting something else… True to JR’s word, the infamous “You Suck” chants have made their way to GZW, and they are pouring down on Kurt Angle as he walks out into view from behind the black curtain and faces a Liberation crowd for the first time. Angle apparently though is choosing to ignore the chants, however, as he has much more important things on his mind. A microphone in hand, the all-american dressed superstar goes to speak as “Medals” his entrance theme continues to blare. Kurt Angle: It’s alright, it’s ok people. You no longer need to worry…for your Olympic Gold Medalist, your American Hero has arrived.[massive heat] I, Kurt Angle, have come here to GZW to help save you from the perils of corruption and indecency, and to help make your lives better, by giving you a proper American role model to follow. JR: Oh brother… King: I know. Isn’t this great JR. JR: Yeah. Great. Angle makes his way down the ramp, a cool cocky smile on his face. He knows he’s the best athlete, the best wrestler, and the best competitor in the industry. It’s eminating from him like gamma rays from Hiroshima as he enters the ring and spins around, his arms outstretched. Kurt Angle: Oh it’s true! I have come to CZW to show you all what happens when a true Olympic Hero takes on a bunch of nobodies.[massive heat] And speaking of nobodies. Let’s talk about the New York Knicks. [MASSIVE HEAT] You want to talk about a franchise in peril? This team is so bad, that you could bring back Patrick Ewing in his prime, and they would still be in last place.[boos] Oh it’s true. King loses it at this comment as the crowd erupts with a “you suck” chant as Angle walks around the ring, his singlet hugging his powerful shoulders and abs. Kurt Angle: And you know what, that’s why I ‘m here. To help people like the New York Knicks. So you people can go from last place in life, to being like me, your Olympic hero.[boos] And it all starts, with embracing my three I’s: Intensity, Integrity, and Intelligence.[heat] If you people follow the three I’s, and work hard every day, then one day you might have a shot of being like me.[boos] Lets apply the 3 I’s to my match tonight against Chris Jericho[pop] This crowd doesn’t like Jericho at all, but against Angle, they will willingly root for anyone else Kurt Angle:We’ll start with Intelligence: It doesn’t take a lot of intelligence to realize I’m the best damn wrestler alive today.[ b][massive heat][/b] Oh it’s true. Intensity: The intensity I bring to the ring is unmatched by ANYONE. How else would I win an Olympic Gold Medal, WITH A BROKEN DAMN NECK? This crowd hates being patronized by Angle. He is pissing off a bunch of rowdy New Yorkers, and they are letting him hear it, obscenities and asshole chants are coming from everywhere. Kurt Angle: And then lastly, there’s Integrity: When I win, and when I beat my opponent. I do it the right way. Which is more than I can say about the Damn Yankees![massive heat] Roger Clemens? Alex Rodriguez? They’re all frauds! Cheaters who’ve soiled the great game of baseball.[massive heat] Oh it’s damn true! And you all know it, yet you deny, deny, deny! I, Kurt Angle, am a clean Olympic champion. Someone you all should be proud to embrace. But since you all don’t seem to like hearing about it, I guess I’ll just have to show you tonight, by making an example of Chris Jericho. JR: Make an example of Chris Jericho? That’s a powerful statement. King: I don’t know if Angle can back that up JR! Angle smiles sadistically for the camera as he looks straight into the heart of it. He walks around some more whilst this ravenous crowd voices it’s disappreciation of their Olympic champion. They genuinely hate this man. Kurt Angle:Chris Jericho, tonight I am going to outshine you in everyway possible. You’re going to become a believer in my three I’s, because I’m going to kick your butt all over this ring, and do it the right way! You better be careful, Chris, because if you’re not, then I’ll BREAK YOUR FREAKING ANKLE![massive heat] He gets so close to the camera his breath is condensing on the camera lens. Perspiration dripping from his brow. Kurt Angle: Oh it’s true…it’s DAMN TRUE! With that, Angle drops the microphone and makes his way out of the ring to the back while “Medals” plays across the arena. He is cool and confident, and passionate about the message he just delivered. He believes that no one is going to get in his way. And he’s not alone. JR: You gotta give Kurt Angle his respect as an athlete, but god what a jackass! King: What are you talking about? I think Kurt is great! He’s here to bring Integrity, Intensity, and Intelligence to GZW. JR: Well, I don’t think GZW needs Angle, or his “Three I’s,” but we need to go to a commercial break. We’ll be right back with more GZW Liberation, right after this! --- GZW cameras cut to…

![]() He has fought in ladder matches, backflipped from a top rope numerous times and wrestled with Mark Henry, so you would think a day of school is somewhere Brian Kendrick can be fairly relaxed. Seemingly not. Changing his path around the campus like it was a labyrinth, a very lost looking Brian Kendrick can't help but fumble all his files as he struggles to hold all of them under his arm. Standing at a directions board, he helplessly fails at understanding the endless set of routes he has to take. Looking around to try and get a better understanding of the area he is trying to navigate through, he sees the countless number of sidewards glances which are matched by unpleasant whispers about his choice in clothes, hair style - those kind of things; each one he hears making it harder and harder for him not to cry. Endless jokes are made by the frat-guys, who are having their laps warmed by bubbly, blonde and bitchy cheerleaders, as Kendrick can't help but wonder what he's done to deserve such treatment on his first day of college. Back in his Pro Wrestling days, most guys were pretty helpful on his first day. But this isn't Pro Wrestling - these is real life. It's not very often in real life, however, a girl like Ashley Massaro is seen running up to a guy like Brian Kendrick, grinning ear to ear and giving him a kiss on the cheek. But it just happened, taking Brian Kendrick, the jealous jocks and their equally jealous girlfriends all by surprise. He flashes his girlfriend a brief, fake grin, but his head is immediately turned round to the directions board again as he desperately attempts to make some sense of it. Massaro, who's face was so full of excitement before that she could barely contain it sighs that the good news will have to be put on hold until she can ask what's wrong. "What's wrong?" asks Ashley, but she's not really caring right now, she just wants to tell him the news. "Nothing..it's just hard adapting, you kn--" "There's a new wrestling company!" Ashley couldn't hold it in any longer, and finally had to tell the news to Kendrick. "What?" Much to her confusion, however, he wasn't excited whatsoever, and instead chose to keep his eyes on the map. "Why aren't you excited? Ground Zero Wrestling, brand new, you can go back to wrestling!" "Oh, now I see! how could I be so stupid!" Suddenly, Kendrick's eyes light up, exciting Ashley. "I'm look at the west side of the campus not the east!" Ashley stands bewildered as Kendrick begins to march on along the campus, now more aware of where he's going, still not caring about Ground Zero Wrestling. She begins to chase after his, talking as he walks. "Brian! Where are you going?!" "Physics," both Kendrick and his words are going so fast to get to class in time that Ashley is struggling to keep up. "Physics?" Ashley can't understand why he isn't happy there's a new wrestling company around, he was moping for days after TWG closed. "Yeah, air, lights, aliens." "I know what Physics is, but why don't you care about a new wrestling company?!" Kendrick begins to slow down, allowing his out of breath girlfriend to catch up with him. "I thought you'd be ecstatic to have the chance to go back?" Ashley asks. "You know, so did I. But think of how many times I've had to move around company, y'know? Continually moving around, changing my gimmick, changing my hairstyle, my clothes, my finisher..now I just want an education, so I can settle into a job I won't have to leave once a crowd starts getting fed up of me. I know you want to go back, and I'll understand if you do, but I just want to stay here," with that Kendrick kisses Ashley on the lips but has no chance to get any tongue action in because a bell rings signaling class is about to begin. He quickly breaks into a sprint, as Ashley stands there, upset that she'll be going to GZW alone. She shouts a final message to BK before he begins his first class in the college. "Good luck, sweetie! I'll tell Brock, Jeff and Chris you said hi," she slowly turns around, and begins heading for the administrative office to tell them she's leaving. About 20 seconds later, her lonely journey came to an end as Brian was back beside her. "Chris? As in, Masters?" Ashley, slightly taken aback by his arrival looks confused at the odd question. "No, Jericho...why?" "J..Je..Jericho? The Highlight of the Night, the Living Legend, The Man of 1,004 holds, The King of The World, the Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla, Y2J...CHRIS JERICHO? IN GROUND WRESTLING ZERO!?" "Ground Zero Wrestling..and yes..him," confused at the sudden interest shown by Kendrick, Ashley repeats her previous question, "Why?" "We're going to Ground Zero Wrestling! Let's go, quick, they might close the applications soon!" Kendrick grabs his clueless girlfriend and the two make their way to the administrative office. And in a very short space of time, about the time it took me to skip two lines, they arrive. Ashley still confused yet happy they're going together, and Kendrick, so excited that, well...he's very excited, shocking the typically old, wrinkly lady behind the desk. "Brian Kendrick and Ashley Massaro, we're leaving, straight to GZW, you old assclown!" Kendrick speaks so quickly that the old woman barely understands, but she has no time to ask him to repeat what he said because he's already out of the building with Ashley, on their way to TWG. Gail: It was good Sir, I feel that I am ready for the task you wish for me to do, what is it, may I ask? ???: In good time, my protégé, for now, we must focus on your training, the methods of the WWE, and also that other one, what's their name? Oh, "TNA", did not work best for your abilities, as I am sure you know, they held you back from being what you are: the best female wrestler on the planet. Before you can start that task, I have a training exercise that you must do for me.
Mentor: I am your final challenge student, who else but your trainer could be your toughest opponent? The challenge was conquered, she was ready for the task...
