re: A Moment of Mafia With Congo L. Omelot: Battle For Coolsville: The One With The Puma |
quote SuperPeanutThere's a reason for Robin to be a bad guy, within the context of the game. There is no such reason for Joker being a good guy, and orez has at no point offered one. While flavour text is probably the last thing to base your decision on, since you've started I'll work on that level. Robin is no longer Robin, according to GTS. That much I believe since we've seen Pinhead. He'll be working under some other alias, having been experimented on [he was a prisoner at the end of the last game and it appears they = experiments]. So he's evil. That's done. Good. Now, Joker. By their own admission, he escaped with Zim and Achilles from the Coolsville prison and they want everyone to be happy. Stepping backwards to official canon, how does Joker make people happy? He uses laughing gas to kill them, cuts their cheeks to make them smile, and things of that ilk. So the flavour specifically states he is a criminal. Hell, look at his role title. While basing decisions off pre-conceptions about characters is never the first choice or key evidence, you cannot just ignore completely. If I claimed Michael Corleone in a Film Mafia as a town protector, would you believe that? Or would some part of you say "that doesn't make sense" and assume I was mafia? Exactly. The theme is there as a basis for the game, so the mod won't throw in something completely wrong and out of place for no reason and without explanation. While the world is open to Glot's interpretations, there has to be a REASON for a disposition change... the experiments have one. GTS don't. But yeah. Look at the proper reasons other than flavour text. It still doesn't add up.

quote Homicide16/17 votes btw. Please hold off on more. You have 1 day left. Use it to explore other leads for future phases, regardless of whether I'm lynched or not. At least try and do that much for me. Also SP isn't, Homi. Would we seriously have more than 3 members, when my role is THAT amazing?

Spiker... uhm... I never said Joker was part of the experiments... if he were, then he'd be experiment aligned.

quote Homicideidk where my mind wandered off with that. You did say joker was basically a guaranteed scum, in a game where robin, a sidekick to one of the most iconic heros ever is.

We should listen to Orez and out more townies, guys, instead of lynching scum. Obviously Quail Man and a Jack of All trades isn't enough.
Seriously though, what do you want us to do? Stumble around with a few other people that feel scummy to you guys? I thought that was awful "Sheep" play when the pressure ended up on your group? Beyond that, we are taking it for granted that everyone that was experimented on is scum this game, while we really don't know that for sure. I mean, Deathstroke died last game, yet reappears, and I'm pretty sure Joker died game 1. I think there is an incredibly good chance Robin is scum, but calling it confirmed becasue The Joker of all people wants to kill him is farfetched at best. The longer this phase stretches, the more confident I am that GTS is scum.

re: A Moment of Mafia With Congo L. Omelot: Battle For Coolsville: The One With The Puma |
quote GlancingReverseunlike Spiker, Atma, and Orez... I'm going to say, make up your own mind. Decide for yourself. If you think he's scum, then vote and end it. If you think he's town, don't vote and listen to what they have to say. Or both. If you are unsure, listen to what they have to say and then decide. and Spiker, what part of they were experimented on don't you get? Robin was experimented on which makes him bad. Joker wasn't so therefore he's just the Joker. Whatever you take him as, he's still the joker. Never has, and never will be, nice. The experiments is what makes the HEROES, VILLAINS... get it? If a villain doesn't get experimented on then what changes him from a Villain to a hero? Nothing. He has a kill, we've seen Joker use a shotgun to blow someones head off... does that seem town to you at all?

*Replace experimented on with captured last game. Obviously anyone experimented on is scum.
