Are there actually an decent UK servers which play bog standard CS, with none of these "Gun Game" or "Sentry Gun" mods? I want a decent game of classic CS with English speakers!

Dude, just play Source
But I played 1.6 a few months ago on normal servers with no issue, so I assume not much has changed. -------------------

Only people that ever say that are the people that needlessly still play 1.6

Not really needless, I only own 1.6 and have other things to spend my money on!

Oh that's fair enough man. I just mean the people that have Source, have 1.6, and still uphold this super elitist mentality that 1.6 will forever be better and they're better for playing it. Annoying as shit.

quote Celes LeonhartI've played them both in leagues. CS Source is much different, it's a dumbed down version of 1.6 with an upgrade of graphics. Hitboxes were enlarged for Source, stacking was removed and the overall flow is very different. -------------------

Which aren't changes enough to warrant its continuous play, imo. The only draw it has is it can be more competitive, but I don't really want to hang out with people that feel the need to continue in that field anyway. It's a hostile game with little different changes; hit-boxes being enlarged and stacking being removed is hardly revolutionary, just tightening screws, and even if these change the flow Source just remains a polished remake.

At the amateur levels, enlarging hitboxes makes it even easier to play CT, considering Ts are offensive 100% of the time until the bomb is secured. Stacking opened doors for very creative strategies that involved boosting. I find that Source is fun for pubbing, but organized 5v5 scrims are best in 1.6.
