This is very easy to change. You can type...
lefthand 2 in console, or goto controls and advance controls then unclick the left hand checkbox. ------------------- Away | |

Thats all you need to do. Dont feel stupid about it because its a common mistake that everyone makes. The hand only really matters for nade throwing. For weapon, it really doesnt matter. Anyways i hope that fixes your problem.

Well I typed it in the console, and it said that lefthand isn't recognized. So I went into the Advanced controls menu, but there was no box. Now what?

If i remember correctly, you had to do it in console without being on a team. Anyways you can also try typing in...
cl_righthand "1" in the config.cfg file. There used to be an option in the controls menu (inside advanced) but i guess it was taken out without me knowing. Sorry about the mistake (i dont goto the configuration area inside CS much, i just do it from config.cfg or console). ------------------- Away | |

Actually i think H isnt binded to anything so that wouldnt work unless you bind H to the command i stated or another command to switch hands.

H is always the defualt for the command menu unless you change it. Also typing commandmenu in the console will bring it up

Ok a sure fix... goto your config.cfg file (open with notepad) and find the
cl_righthand "0" line. It should be near the bottom of the file. Change the value of it to cl_righthand "1" If its by chance NOT located in the file, then just type it in at the bottom. Make sure it isnt there already if you are typing it in. I just tested this and its sure to work. ------------------- Away | |

Thanks for all your help guys, but it still isn't working. But at least you all now know how much I hate my computer, because this is so minor compared to the other annoying things it does.
I swear to God, if I had another computer, I would cover this one in gasoline, set it on fire, urinate on the remains, then run it over with my car, and then probably light it on fire again. Grrr....I hate this thing. ------------------- There's no off switch, so I'll make one! | |

Did you try to config the config.cfg file yet
 Im 100 percent certain that it works. You open the file using notepad (right click to open with). ------------------- Away | |

You don't just add the line in the config.cfg file you must find it and actually physically change it. Also (this may sound stupid) but do not forget to save it.
