did anyone ask if he has custom skins? If you have any custom files in \cstrike\models\ named [gunname] v_x_r.mdl rename it to [gunname] v_x.mdl, deleting the original. this is the only other solution i know of.

Yes, this could be the case. I work in something called PC gaming center - an interesting local (Balcan) phenomena. 12 PC in LAN, plus one on my desk, plus LAN CS 1.5 server, internet 128 kbps connection and kids playing here multiplayer games, cos they can't from home, over the net (shitty telecommunications). Many of them are downloading skins, weapon models etc., changing original CS. Few days ago, kid installed theme with few skins and weapons, and it turned player to left-handed. You can switch hand in game, but at the begginig of every round you're left-handed, and nothing I do could change that, except re-installing CS, . I'll try solutions posted above, and if any of it works, I'll post it here.

Well I was messing around with it and I finally fixed the problem. I was messing around with my options, and I guessed I missed the "use left hand" check box. Anyway, its wasn't checked, but I checked it anyway. I played the game, and my gun was on the left side. I went back to the menu, and unchecked it, and viola, it was on the right side! I don't know why it was like that, but its probably because my computer it possessed by satan.
