Well, with the new regime, it's also time for a different thread, with a few requests from yours truly in it as well.

This thread can be used to tell me what you'd like to happen in the forum, your opinion of how things are, or if I need to make any announcements. Enjoy! ^^

Here are a few things you can do to help around the forum right now:

• Improve the Thread Index! If you have any suggestions as to how I can make it look better, of it you have some work you'd like to submit, please don't hesitate to PM me!
  
  
• Do NOT assume that a thread is not allowed. If I deem that a thread is not suitable for the forum, I will either close it and/or redirect the thread creator to where their query/idea should go. If the thread belongs in a different forum, it will be moved.
  
  
• Vote in the Character Tournament and submit a GFX piece to the Header/Footer competition.

And here are several things that will be occuring in the next three or so months:

• Final Fantasy Hurt/Heal Game
  
  
• Revival of the Summon Tournament. Winner of that tournament will play the winner of the character tournament in a special battle!
  
  
• Forum Awards (begin sometime in late April/early May)
  
  
• Annual FF trivia tournament!

When these threads are made, please don't be afraid to be active in them.

And remember, your posts and ideas are what will keep this forum active!


Ryan: And some of you may have noticed that I have taken the Balamb music from the Intro Thread and used it for the entire forum! I love this idea, since I think it suits the place perfectly. PLEASE let me know if this slows down anyone's computer or if you don't like the forum with the music.

I noticed in the Forum Rules/Bans/Thread Index it has a link to most Final Fantasy game profiles, but it hasn't been updated for a while. I think the FFs that have been left out should be added, which include:

I also see two errors. Final Fantasy VI (US Version II) should be Final Fantasy IV (US Version II), not VI.

Final Fantasy VI (US Version III) (NES) should be (SNES), not (NES).

When S9 turned the forum over to me we had a talk about a GD here and iirc there was talk about how the whole forum is a GD, so that's why he didn't want one here.

Of course if ryan feels differently it's all up to him now, but I didn't want you guys to think I have been holding out on you all these years to be a jerk. ;~;

It's already been hard to turn the reigns over to someone else and watch all my threads be changed. [/baaaawww]

Jeez, Daisy, now I feel bad. I still kept all of your hard work, I've just put them into different threads, so the only thing that has changes is the format and the thread name!

As for a GD, I actually tried to start one when I was in my first month here, and I've changed my opinion on them-- meaning I don't want one in the forum right now. We'll have in a month or so three game threads up, and I think that should create plenty of off-topic conversation still related to FF. The GDs in the FFVII, VIII, and IX forums work perfectly to keep these communities together, and I don't see it as a necessity. If the forum slips into inactivity, I may allow one in the future to be opened to generate some new discussion and bring newer members in here.


For the record, I've loved this forum for several years-- just because I've taken over and changed a few things doesn't mean I don't care or respect it's history and the amount of work that's been put into it. ^^

You can make the create a character thread... I didn't find one anywhere in my folders.

It wouldn't allow me to edit it, so I'm assuming so.

lol. You know, I'm looking at all of these FF forums filled with events and games and while I think they are all a lot of fun to participate in, I don't think it's what this forum should be about. Section9 was always opposed to game threads, and Daisy really didn't keep too many of them floating around during her time either, and the forum was still able to survive.

The character tournament has been one of the most productive events for this forum in a long time and I'm hoping to continue the popularity with the Hurt/Heal game we have planned and the annual trivia tournament that will be beginning at the summation of the Character Tourney.

While a Slave Auctions thread would be a lot of fun to do, it takes a fair amount of work, and I'm not sure that I want to expend that much energy on an event that usually needs a forum with more visitors then what we currently have.
