JFG-RPG Idea Development

What do people think the chances of this game on the N64 becoming a future Rpg for oh say, the Game Cube?

I wonder what it would be like?

Aw well, c'mon!

It might be good, they could still make an action/adventure JFG game for the game cube and still have the JFG RPG.

They could have new characters and stuff, like other Jet Force squads and stuff.

But think of the possibilities Man!!!!!!!! It would be astounding to see the jfg team to grow in levels, they could probably do meelee combot without the use of weapons.

Yeah I spose it'd be pretty cool. They could have better proficientcies with differant weapons and differant missions to cool planets

Okay well since I haven't really played the original game very much I can't say much for the characters but heres some suggestions:

-There should be the main characters but they could add a couple more and at the start of the game you have the choice of who you would want to have as your main character.
-All the characters should have their own special abilities and be better in something and worse in others which can over time be brought to a higher rating with level building but the character should keep their own streingths.
-Items/Weapons mainly that there should be heaps of them at least 40+ weapons but some could be upgrades that you would purchase over the duration of the game. And weapons should be available all through the game but be hard to get at the start and require practice and money to purchase.
-Level building and money should be gained by doing missions and sub quests. These could be accessed by talking to people all around the universe and by talking to someone who I'll call the mission broker at the mo.

Umm... thats all I can think of at the mo but I'll add some later. How about we design the whole game here with other peoples suggestions I'll draw up some pics of the characters and some stuff like that It'll be cool

Hey thanks for that How about we change the name of the forum to something like JFG RPG development. Hmm... How do we do that. We should probably work out the name of the characters and all that stuff before we start on the story line. I gotta couple more ideas but I can't be stuffed writing them down at the mo.

JFG RPG Development Ideas

Hey I just though I'd elaborate on the whole Level building theory.

Levels would be based on a pionts system. You would get points depending on how well you do a mission which would then build up until you reached the next level. In which you would get differant points to divide between your abilitys such as Strenght, Speed and stuff like that. Plus you would get 1-3 points to distribute over maybe some specials or something like that.

Missions can be bought from mission brokers all around the universe or planet depending on what setting we're thinking of. Some missions may also be compulseriy that you have to do to continue the main story but by having a limit to the number of missions the broker has will make you eventually turn back to your main mission.

Every character will be unique and there won't be any vannila characters that are basicly the same except with a slight differance that noone notices.

When doing a mission bought from a broker or even other missions that are intergrall to the main plot you may have to choose the people in your party. I'm not too sure about how this is going to work yet so could you maybe give me some ideas?

Now, in Jet Force Gemini the three main characters used a large, 'Mother Ship' type thing. And each character had his/her own individual ship.

We could expand on the idea of using space ships as the main characters means of transportation, wherever they are an existing character or a newbie.

There is a possibility that there may be gigantic fleets of star ships in space, for the JFG team is not the only squadron of soldiers. We could expand on the idea of there being many fleets of ships in the RPG, I'm not so sure as to how it could be done but in light of this I feel that it could end up being a key element to the game.

Although, this would not play a very major role anyway because we should stick to the main genre of the game, that being an rpg/adventure.

How about a system that allows you alot of choice in what you do like say for instance your sent to save a planet and are given some advice that this guy might to be able to help however you meet him and think hes a dickhead so you kill him, and then go and save the planet without him. This would give you a totally differant situation than if you just gone to the guy and got him to do your job. This would allow for a much more open ended storyline and imerse the player into the game alot more

Thats not a bad idea. An open ended story line to game is a risky thing to do but if we were to perfect it, it could be amazing.

Should there be an option were you can design your own character, I've been thinking about this and I've come to the conclusion that I need to think a bit more :S

This may just be too much of a bad idea that will end us heading down the slow dirt road. What would you say?

I was thinking about this as well and i've come to the conclusion that we don't include the option. Instead we have 3 or 4 characters that you could choose at the start. Each would follow the same start to a story line but each would have differant traits and whateva so might have to go about doing a situation a differant way. But they could also do the same way as a dif character but might find it harder or something.
