Hi All! Wanted to know what your favorite fighter aircraft movies are? I like "Battle of Britain" The best, although the music and the acting are ahh, a little bit dated, the WW2 planes and the aerial shots are very good and for the most part, it seems to make sense. Also it was a pivital WW2 battle too! I also get a kick out of Firefox, which in Russia is know as Clint Eastwood stealing our phase array "FoxFire" radar technology, (that's another long boring story!). But it is entertaining, especially dubbed. But I wish they made those Firefox wings look a little more sturdy in the film! When it leaves the hanger with those floppy flapping wings it looks bad. But it was a fun movie. Let me know your favorites. Later

Not so much a fighter movie as it is a classic aviation movie...'Memphis Belle' Good stuff. That seems to be the only movie nowadays that I can sit through without cringing. Damn Hollywood, and making it soo over dramatic. The one thing I never understood. Some fighter pilots can be the most entertaining without any added drama, so why screw up a good thing...oh well. Maybe there is one to come some day that will tickle my fancy. Again not a fighter movie but 'the right stuff' is worth watching.

I'd have to say Flight of the Intruder was my favorite also. Nothing like taking fire from every hoodlum with an AK while flying through downtown Hanoi. That was a great scene.

I havent seen tora tora tora or flight of the intruder, but one that I like, is midway.

Tora Tora Tora was very good, as was The Final Countdown. That one was -very- good for dramatic moments. Nothing showed the F-14 off better IMO.

Oh, and you can't dismiss the original Hot Shots just because it was a spoof. Its amazing how many ways they found to make fun of fighter and naval aviation.

Okay here are my picks for movie,fighter or not.

1)Tora,Tora,Tora.
2)Battle of Britain.
3)Final Countdown(Excellent!)
4)Memphis Belle.
5)Midway.
6)Strategic Air Command.
7)Flight of the Intruder.
8)Thirty seconds over Tokyo.

Those are my choices and ones in my video collection.

Iron Eagle 4 (I think so) The guy pilot a plane and plummeled iraq just to save his dad...... cool.

Forgetting a Classic even though youll bitch about it being not accurate or anything is Top Gun

I know in pervious threads I have said that I can't
stand TopGun! well I still can't stand it,but if
anyone one out there likes it,that is their choice.
I don't have anything against people who like that
movie,that is their right.But I still think it is
totaly rediculous and I perfer realism as much as
possible.But you wont find much of that from out
of Hollywood.When TopGun first came out,I thought
"WOW!" this is a great movie,but after listeninig
to those in the real TopGun at that time and what
they said about the movie,that it didn't compare
at all what pilots realy have to go through,opened
my eyes to reality.

But this only my opinion,and if you guys out there
like it,by all means you're not wrong if you do.

Didn't forget Top Gun, just thought that the Final Countdown totally outclassed it in terms of naval aviation.

Tora Tora Tora is about the attack on Pearl Harbor and the events leading up to it. Flight of the Intruder takes place during the Vietnam War.

You can't beat the Duke in Flying Tigers. I just saw Final Countdown, very good movie!

Top Gun is without a doubt my favourite,its really great,amazing
